Campaign details
Lore:In ages past the material plain was still, the world was blank and beginning to birth life and thought into the many lands that made it up. However in the first age the world was devoid of magic and divines, or that was simply the belief of those that came after. Rather than Gods the world was thought to be created by the titans, massive beings of chaos that over the ages evolved to align and control the elements. These legends were however completely and violently ripped from history and minds in the second age, as the first God was created. Little is known of this God but it is said he ripped the world in two upon his creation, leaving a gigantic gateway to another realm. One of which has remained open for at the center of the material plain all the way up to present day.
Following what world calls the Tear, much of the worlds population of all races were met with pure chaotic destruction. It's theorized that only those at the edges of the world were left alive or sane. As well as come races being completely erased or changed by this world changing event. Those that did survive however did slowly over many years become aware of magic slowly coming into the world. Weakly so at the edges of the realms, but as the world recovered the allure of power and magic drew people to the Tear. Each step and milestone of their journey they found greater and grander sights, as the world had been bathed in magic and the power of the first divine. The races of the world pushed closer and closer to the tear through the ages, settling towns onto the frontier and taking their time to study the new world. Finally these people reached the sea, founding a great city as they readied a grand voyage across the ocean to what they hoped would be a land close to the Tear.
A month of sailing and those of the far lands could finally see it, before even reaching land a moon sized tear to some unknown world or realm sat glowing and venting the power of that place into our own. A land was found and word was sent across the sea as they reach the shore, however no other word was sent back after the first. Three months after the first voyage they sent another, this one more armed and prepared for the dangers that might exist. Much like the last no word returned, however with the mainland a proper kingdom put in place. With it came King Venrin and his Queen Kyrsta, they had come upon a crystal that allowed them to use what they would call Divine magic. With this they stated their domain and held it with the control of this magic. With their rule they ensured the lands they already had would be enough as well that this was in fact the lands of the Gods. As well as outlawing the travel to the new lands, they kept this stance for only five years as the realm had other plans.
As ships began to return from the new lands, however these were not the royal standard. But rather the flagship and battleships of the Arcana Empire, it's unclear if the kingdom made up the name but it is the translation of their name into the common tongue of the kingdom. This so called Empire was made up of elves the confusing race of Aasimar and Commanded by a Half-Dragon and their legion of Dragonborn. Unseen events within the lands close to the rift must have triggered some from of reaction, or perhaps the nature of the kingdoms rule lead to this. As this was war, the first in the land of this scale. The Kingdom was always filled conflict one way or another, but small rebellions did not compare this bloodbath of races and magic. One that appeared like it could go on endlessly, both sides assaulting and gain ground on both land masses over the years and the years were countless. So long in fact that by it's end came the third age.
This new age was marked by the awakening of the titans, as well as their seeking to retake the world for themselves. The world war needed to end as this threat to both life and land became apparent, these forces of nature were far too powerful for any mortal or even army. For a time the world was thrown into another age of doom and ruin, however just before both lands were cleaned of mortal life. Gods came from the Tear to save the mortal races, but in doing so stole the domains of the elements and powers of the world out of the beating hearts of the titans. Even with that fact the titans were found to be immortal, not a surprise to anyone but this fact remained true to those even named as Gods. The power of the titans were drained, but it was clearly their powers would return with time. So the Gods banished the titans as far as away as they could, other realms, distance islands and place of horror from beyond the Tear. As well as founding putting in place their religions and rewarding those of that hold faith in them.
In the present the world is at an age of peace at least upon most races, however the tear continues to both expel chaotic and Divine magic as well as drawing in those who seek power and knowledge. A grand city sits at the entrance to the Tear, known to be a place of learning and great faith. Countless races and people head to this place not many returning for one reason or another. As tales of a new Emperor rises, one that seeks to lay claim to what is beyond and will go to any end to find Godhood. Stories of what is beyond the Tear are many and different, even folk heroes that have entered return with another tale than the last. Despite the tales and the blood filled past of the land, the material plain's future is looking bright and filled with untold mysteries to discover.

Rules
1) For now, if you are playing in this campaign please try not to play characters that will kill party members. It's very likely this world has racist folks that dislike one another, however the party dynamic maybe a big part of this campaign.
2) Despite the previous rule, if you as a player or your character is given information that is not public to the other players. Maybe don't reveal that knowledge right away if it makes sense to do so, this does not mean puzzles or important plot knowledge. You'll likely know or be warned when info is more beneficial to keep to yourself.
3) Don't fear the reaper, at times this may seem like a difficult campaign. However there is a story to be told, remember you can only attempt to die.
Hello all that might see this, I know this thread is a little old at this point. But I'm happy to inform that this campaign is still going and looking for players that are able to be around at 6PM EST on Sunday nights. With mic and use discord. Please let me know if you want in or further details.
I'm new to DnD Beyond but have been playing DnD on and off for years. I am finding 5e quite enjoyable and would be very interested in taking part in your campaign if you've still the room and are willing to put up with someone who is a bit of a 5e newbie (at least when compared to others here, I imagine). I have discord, a roll20 account and would be open to the idea of purchasing sections of books for character building if you end up using DnD Beyond's system, otherwise I do have copies of the 3 core books for 5e that are dying to be used on a more regular basis.
Hey, Im an experienced DnD player, ~6 years now. I am looking to join a consistent campaign and if this plays on Sundays I will have no issues with scheduling. I am fan of the more roleplaying base as I enjoy getting into a fun character. If you have any questions for me feel free to message me.
Bumping this forum again, we've reach level seven in the campaign and I'm planning to begin the next series of event next weekend. We begin at 6-7PM EST on Sunday nights still, with the classes of rogue/druid and a bard. The settling is mostly fantasy but in the present moment the party would be in an more advanced and city location, if you wish to take part or ask questions please let me know! The campaign has been on going, so even if you come upon this late it's possible we can still work something out if you enjoy the ideas.
I have a level one rouge that I just built with Beyond I would like to start building up. I have a very flexible schedule and live on the east coast USA. How do we link up and upload my rouge?
