Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: Anyone! Location/Timezone: CST Schedule: We're thinking Saturdays right now around 8 to 11-12ish CST. Game style: Casual play with a heavy emphasis on roleplay, and PC dialogue. All I ask is that you come into this knowing I spent many hours crafting the world, and the campaign. Therefore, it would be nice if you took the time to think about your character and react with the other PC's! Setting: It is set in a supercontinent called Pharentha with a myriad of political strife, and tensions on all four corners. In the northern portion of the world is a familial, generational warfare for a throne of power. In the south is a thick, arid expanse of hot desert where water is a major part of survival. About me: My name is Josh, or JP, and I've been DM'ing for a little while now and desperately try to make the sessions for the players above all else. I never want them to drag or get slow, so I often try to implement fun and elemental story/quest propositions for my PC's. I'm essentially trying to be a little Matt Mercer with descriptive scenes, and world building, so if that's what you're looking for them drop a message! When would we start? We've been doing session zero's so that when we begin to do regular weekly meet-ups it makes sense why this random array of adventurers banded together. That being said, I was hoping to do the last of these session zero's so that we can begin the weekly sets with everyone involved. I have a few ideas for how your character can be integrated, so please be prepared to possibly join tonight! If you are interested: Go ahead and put character concepts, ideas, your experience with D&D, and what you're looking for in a campaign and a DM. If I'm interested, then I will send you a message on here and we can talk more. I'd really like all the players to have a solid understanding of the rules, and able to communicate with current PC's. We're a fun loving group, and want people who can joke around and have a good time!
Hi, My name is Joe, I have Saturday nights free and I'm in the CST time zone "Big Easy"
I have a few ideas of different characters all Aasamir.
I am looking to play a support role so Druid, Cleric/Bard multi-class its really up to what would be most needed as i would be the last member joining.
I am a huge fan of Critical Role, DCA, Aq.Inc. and High Rollers, currently catching up on Critical Role Vox Machanica Campaign, Played as a kid now fairly confident in playing 5e, but always learning.
About me, I am retired IT
I have been a musician since childhood, and can pull off a stage presence NP.
Love the RP aspect and would enjoy committing to the right group for a lengthy campaign.
Hello there, I have some character concepts like an ex mobster halfing sorcerer a batman-esque half elf rouge and a half elf detective warlock. I understand the rules very well and would love yo join the campaign. So please consider me for the campaign.
Hello! My name is Bonni, and I would love to be considered for your campaign! If I were to join, this would be my first "official" game of D&D. I was introduced to the mechanics a little around Halloween, but the people I played with just made everything up on the fly, and they weren't playing seriously, so I don't really consider it a game at all. I would like to say I'm familiar with the rules, as I have skimmed over them and watched a few campaigns online, but, honestly, I would have quite a few questions as we played, so if you don't mind helping a new player learn, I'd love to join! I've got one character idea completely fleshed out, a half-elf bard, but I'd be willing to play something else if need be! (I just might need a little time/help.) If possible, I'd like to play some sort of support role. I think it'd be easier for my first time playing. (but again, I'd be willing to play whatever, I'd just love to get some experience!) As for the campaign, I would love to play something more RP oriented and fun! I'm a college-age worker currently between schools, and I'm free most Saturday nights unless someone calls in sick for work (but that rarely happens), and I'm also in CST. Anyway, sorry for the word vomit, I'd just like you to know who you're dealing with. I'd appreciate it if you were to consider me for the campaign!
I'm a massive fan of CR (up to date on S2 and on Ep 52 of S1). While fighting can be fun, the story element is really what makes this game for me. I've been looking for a small group for a while now that has that sort of focus. From what I read above, I put just as much effort into my characters as you put into your world. I find world building a little daunting bc of the massive scale. However, character building I know. I've got a lot of realistic, down to earth characters where I focus on consistency and motivation. I'm really big about matching the pace of my DM. Do you want a broken Tywin Lannister esque character that is on the revenge path? Done! Want a grizzled veteran from a small town who got caught up in a war he knows nothing about ever since he was a kid? Done. I do my best to stay away from the craziest stuff (triple multi classed bugbear paladin anyone . . ?) because I think characters who appear normal on the surface can easily provide more complex narratives through motivation. Besides the hundreds of hours of rule exposure from CR, I've played little one shots and game zeros with different groups similar to what it sounds you have done with your group so far. While I'm still trying to balance my own flow of player interaction, I understand it is imperative to share the spotlight. CR does a great job of this to the point it is seamless and I strive to do the same. I hope we can craft memorable narratives together!
My fiance and I are looking for a game to join. I am a new dm, and we want to play in a game together. I am interested in RP. I think my fiance will be shy to it, but she does not ruffle feathers. She is more prone to collect information through disguise and stealth.
We are open to many character classes, but we had discussed her being a druid who saved me from the wild. As a mundane human, I make a pact with a powerful fey to gain the power to follow/protect/impress her. Her goals we havent determined, but my goals are hers and I will be charming foe as often as stabbing them. I suspect the fey may have a price for their offer, which you might be interestdd in working with.
Hello, my name is Van Moon (yes that is my actual name)and I had been looking for a group for a long while now, something solid, I have a little experience with a home brew campaign I ran a few months back but I have and understanding of most of the rules and player to dm contact understanding. I am able to make my characters fit in really well, My character concept is a Teifling Beast master who is a hired assassin, his preferred targets are humans and Elves, he was brought into the assassin business by his older Cousin who he always followed around as a kid cuz he “oh so loved her very much” but that is kinda where I have the story rn for him, I am willing t work with it to change it to how your campaign would demand but I would love the chance to be able to be apart of this.
My name is Ethan Smith and Im 17. My character is, in a nut shell a haunted soldier who was ambushed and one of few that lived who is carring the wedding rings of his closest friends. I'm New, as in I've never plaid DND before but I've always wanted to, and I really want to play in a Home Brew campaign because I have heard that they, are easier to get along with and have a more chill vibe as in to get into the game. As for vibeing with other PC, I'm a very quorky and shy person so I'll probably be quiet and listen and take everything in, plus I've never RPed with my voice before and I'm also not very good at RP in the end but I'm willing to learn. I can also read the rule here on DnD Beyond and try to understand as much as I can. I'll even take notes, (If not copy it onto a notebook) I also live in Easter Standard Time.
Hello im quite new to the game but i know most of the rules and i have my own starter book im in cst and free all day on weekends and would love to start. I have a few characters in mind including a elven necromancer, a gnomeish articifer, and a minator fighter if any of those catch your intrest. Ive thought of some backstories of the characters but nothing clear, and i would be open to any changes if necessary.
Do you still have room for another player?? My name is Trey, and I've been a big D&D fan since my dad introduced me to it when I was about 12 and I'm 30 now. Very big on Critical Role watched every episode to date and really want to be a part of a group as motivated and dedicated to role-playing characters and getting deep in storyline as they do.
The character I have dreamt up for a while now is a Tiefling twin brother, Azlar, an Eldritch Knight. His father was furious at his sister, who built a devotion to a celestial god (She became a cleric), rather than to one of the hell's own beings. He ordered his men to execute her, but Azlar stood defiantly, preventing them from completing their orders. His father stepped forward and began "punishing" him instead, but before he could land a final blow, was struck by his daughter in an attempt to save her twin. The two escaped the realm, always running from their own bloodlines hate. Azlar is forever devout to protecting his sister, and vows to exact revenge on his family, for his sister, and for the scar left down his left arm from his own father.
If selected, I would be happy to go through more intricate detail on his story, as this is more quick write to give an idea of what I have.
