I'm going to be running a new group through a little newbie One-Shot known as The Delian Tomb. Please don't read the other threads if you'd like to play in this one. This is a very basic adventure just meant to help you learn the mechanics, rules, and get an idea of how to play so you can go into a long-term game with a little experience under your belt.
Here's what I'm looking for:
Brand new players who have been watching videos, listening to podcasts, reading blogs, etc, related to D&D and are now excited to give it a shot for the first time. I would expect you to have done some basic research to know how to play, but anything you don't know I will help you figure out. If you have played more than once or twice before I'd respectfully ask you to let the brand new folks have this one.
Be able to post Once per Day. I usually update around 1am Pacific Time, it's Play by Post so keep in mind it's going to be a little bit slow going and it's likely some people will drop out. I'll try to keep the game flowing, though.
Basic races only (nothing more exotic than Dragonborn). Any regular class is fine. Put a little thought into your character, give them some sort of personality and try to get into the RP mindset.
Overly flowery prose is not required. In fact, you might even say it's frowned upon. We don't need to read 2 paragraphs about the wind flowing through your hair. Not to say you can't get descriptive in your RP, just don't overdo it.
Proper spelling and grammar IS required! Sorry, personal pet peeve of mine. If you use certain words (such as: your, you're, their, there and they're) incorrectly I will give you disadvantage on all of your rolls in the next combat. (Not really, but still...)
Standard Points Array, no need to worry too much about items, I'll assume everyone has food and the basics, etc. Starting at level 1. You will be using the Character Generator on this site. Please make sure to remember to EQUIP your armor and weapons or else your stats will be off.
First 5 to reply are in. Let me know if you have any questions. Good luck, all.
Hey there Stiffkick, I'm definitely interested in this. Super new to DnD, just got into my first play by post about a week ago and while I am already signed up with a group playing over discord and roll20, we're not doing our session 0 until this weekend and I could use a bit more experience. Kind of went and threw myself into the deep end after spending about a year and a half watching livestream games, listening to podcasts and reading everything a poor college student could afford to get her hands on. Super excited to play just need some more actual play time to get a better hold on the mechanics and such. Especially in combat, haven't even gotten to try that out yet. I have a level one gnome ranger and a level one half orc bard drawn up character wise but I can definitely start out with a fresh character concept if needed so whatever works best. Thanks!
Stiffkick - I would LOVE to join your game! I played some PBEM D&D back in the early 90's and I really want to start to get back into it. I have always loved D&D but never really got a chance to play it other than my brief PBEM stint when I was a child. I am new to D&D beyond and will be creating a character today. Would I be able to join your adventure?
Hey MysPost - I am going to be playing a Human Druid! Neutral, a recluse basically.
Hey Stiffkick - are you going to be keeping us honest with our characters? I noticed that the character creator lets us add basically any piece of equipment and items etc. and let me add 4 L1 spells instead of 2, etc.
I just want to make sure I did everything correctly and/or if you had any restrictions and rules we should be adhering to with our characters.
@Kyron14: I've got both a ranger and a bard cooking but if you want to go bard I'm happy to stick with my ranger. She seems like she might be a better fit for this anyhow. :)
Is there still a spot open? I made a human wizard with a unique background which i hope is ok and a goliath fighter. I am new to DnD got into it by watching and listening to others play, hope i can join.

I don't mind, both of mine are complete, so if you want to be the bard you can. It's up to you.

I think I will stick with my ranger for now but thanks! She's finished too and my bard still needs a little work.

I have two characters, a cleric and a bard. Which would be better?
Kryon14 - how do you get your character links to appear like that at the bottom of your posts? (Quinn and Grykahm)
You go to your signature settings and add a link to the character pages.
Thank you!
Thanks pbpnoob!
