LFP-3-4 F2F in Chicago, Casual And some RPG, 5e,

I have DMed some before and my wife and I just moved to Chicago from Texas. We are looking to start a monthly group on a Saturday from 12-5 usually. Looking to play 5e, potentially using the Taldoire campaign guide for a spring board, with some home brew. Will be combate and quest driven with role playing. We prefer players who enjoy getting into character and talking through plans and the adventure in character. (Also you cant make fun of the terrible voices I will do for the NPCs). I have only DMed a little and will make some mistakes with rules as we go, so you must be patient with that, and I will always try to error on the side of what would be most fun for the players when I don’t know. 

Prefer if players have a copy of the Players Handbook and would prefer players at least willing to invest in their own mini. I have quite a few minis for combate and have built my own changeable dungeon tiles. Should be fun!

Hello I live around the area of Chicago and I'm new to the game but would like to play this game and get to make new friends but since I'm new to this I don't have a figure or the handbook  but can get one also have a nephew that may be interested as well

I leave out side the city I leave in North Chicago but I don't mind a little drive

You are the first person who has responded.  I haven't played for years, though I have been reading and believe I have strong familiarity with the rules.  I would much rather be player than DM.  I live in Northbrook and can also travel. 

If you know others who'd like to play it would be nice to try to get a group together.

I'm currently staying in the downtown, I'm DMing my own, but I've been itching to sit on the other side of the table again.
