Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online, Discord text. Experience: Some experience preferred Location/Timezone: EST Schedule: Ongoing, check in at least once/day. Roles sought: 2 Players for particular roles Game style: Casual roleplay, combat and exploration.
I currently have four level-4 players on Chapter 4 of Hoard of the Dragon Queen. A few notable NPCs are soon to be introduced, characters with incentive to join the party. I thought it would be nice to introduce some PCs instead, and give new players a chance to play these roles instead of me, the DM. The characters do not have to be the same as the NPCs in the adventure, as long as they have generally the same goals. I prefer players who have not read or played the HoTDQ adventure.
The first character option may be of any class and PHB subclass. Races are limited to human, elf, dwarf, halfling, half-elf and you may not be of evil alignment. The only requirement for the character's backstory is that they are a Harper agent (and I will fill you in on the most recent events - the past two months or so - in your life). You may or may not choose the Faction Agent Background. This character will be starting with no wealth or equipment (but that shouldn't last too long.)
The second character option may be of any class and PHB subclass, or any official subclass available for Rogue. Races are limited to human, elf, dwarf, halfling, half-elf, gnome and you may be neutral or chaotic neutral in alignment. The only requirement for the character's backstory is that they are a Zhentarim agent (and I will fill you in on the most recent events - the past two months or so - in your life). You may or may not choose the Faction Agent Background.
I do have a few homebrew rules including an expanded skill system and a slightly grittier short rest/long rest healing system. You may create your character on DNDBeyond or with a different online docs program to be shared with me.
My campaign is text-based and due to schedule conflicts it is rare that we have sessions with everyone online at the same time, but I do ask that players check in at least once a day. What I offer is a fun, descriptive and immersive DM style with maps and images provided.

Let me know if you're interested and we'll talk!
Sounds interesting. So this is basically play by post in discord?I would be interested in playing a human cleric.
Yes, it is like play-by-post most times, and sometimes we are able to have sessions. With different channels it works much better than using a forum.
Do you Still need another Pc?
I'm going to see how much interest I get and make a decision in about a week. So, yes. What are you thinking?
What classes were the npc’s going to be?
The first character is not given a class but is uses the stat block of an NPC spy. The second character is an arcane trickster rogue.
I’d play something Spyish then. Elf Rogue, for subclass either Mastermind, Scout, or Assassin.
If not a cleric then a ranger perhaps?
A ranger would work well.
