Seeking D&D loving players looking forward to a homebrew game. Character stories, in-character roleplaying, and campaign storyline will be central. In addition this campaign is episodic in nature (aka a series of connected one shots so if you can’t make a game you’ll be fine)
Game: D&D 5e Group type: Face-to-face Experience: Any Location/Timezone: Triangle Area in NC, specifically in Cary, NC Schedule: Prefer Weekends weekly or bi-weekly but pretty flexible Roles sought: 4-6 players Game style: Story and roleplay focused games with elements of descriptive combant. Episodic in nature (connected oneshots)
This style is inspired by the DM I played with in Atlanta named Caleb. It works as having a series of connected of one shots all taking place in the same area of the world as the story unfolds. As such, if you can’t make a session, it won’t be detrimental to the game.
This will be my first full time DM campaign I have done multi shots and one shots before, but I’m interested in creating a leading a storyline as the DM.
That being said, I do have a preference regarding players/player guidelines that I will also follow as the DM (Most of these were inspired and written by WrongWriter here on dndbeyond as I couldn’t have written it better myself)
Players and DM must be patient with the others in the group while we find our stride and overcome nerves of "performing" in front of strangers.
It's not a competition. Everyone wants their character's story to be told. Be patient. The opportunity will come. Don't try to force it.
If your idea of authentic role play is screwing over or backstabbing your fellow party members because "that's what your character would do" be prepared to be killed or kicked out of the party because "that's what the other characters would do" if they were treated that way.
If you are going to max/min your character’s stats be prepared to face the role playing penalties of your choices (For example if you max’d your intelligence and min’d your strength you will have very high DC when trying to do anything with strength and I will give you exhaustion from long walks etc. )
Be respectful to the other players and your host. Be able to separate roleplay from real life. If you are offended IRL by the actions of a character in the game that MUST be discussed with the group. Do not accuse or confront that player based on your perceptions. Do not assume the actions of a character are a reflection of the player IRL. Talk about it with the whole group or the DM. If you have good reason to find the behavior unacceptable it will be stopped.
Keep your commitments and be on time for games and inform group well ahead of time if your schedule changes
Other rules and guidelines can be discussed as a group once we have one.
Reply here for interest or message me for additional details. Once I get sufficient numbers I’ll create a discord group to hash out the final details.

Looking forward to playing with you!
I'm not in that area, but I am interested. If we could do it over Discord, I would love to join.
My discord is Jesusbacknbetter#1526
Hey!
I am definitely interested. I am in Cary and prefer weekends as well. This sounds like a really good concept.
FYI the game filled up! Good luck everyone
