I’m 27 and have access to discord and a computer. I’m a long time fantasy nerd, playing lots of RPGs and watching shows and documentaries on fantasy and medieval era.
Recently a co worker and myself looked into dnd but I’m nervous about going to my lgs to campaign with strangers in person, considering my lack of experience.
Instead, I bought a core rule book and bestiary for pathfinder and tried to do as much research as possible. We couldn’t get a campaign together or find a knowledgeable DM so now I’m here looking for a group to take me in for their online campaigns.
Im eastern time. Currently at work but am available most evenings anytime of the week. I’d appreciate your time and consideration.
This isn't the answer you want, but what if I told you that you could run D&D tonight as the DM?! Check out Matt Colville's running the game on YouTube. The first 2 videoes will be all you need to jump in.
You don't have to be a veteran player to be a DM. No amount of playing will make the transition to DM easy. I know people playing waaaay longer than me who will NEVER DM cause they think its hard and scary.
The important thing to know is that everyone sucks at the start, but since you are all new its not so bad. There are not enough DMs to match the number of players in the world, so jumping in with both feet into the DM side of the pool is scary, but honestly DMing is way more fun than playing.

Myself and a few others are learning to play on Tabletop simulator if you have that, our DM spent the last week learning and making notes so he's new too but have a basic understanding. Our adventure has just begun aswell so we could always work a new companion into the story.
