Hi! My Discord D&D community is lookin' for a few fresh faces for a couple new games we're tryin' to set up. We've got about 35 active members and about 7-10 weekly running games.
I do gotta conduct a short text and voice interview and introduction just to introduce you to the many channels on the server, and to get a sense of you and your D&D experience, but we welcome all experience levels, and a lot of us love introducing people to D&D, and have a lot of books and resources to share to help even more.
We use a shared Google spreadsheet for scheduling, so we're gonna ask you to fill out the time ranges wherein you're unavailable. A lot of our members are in the USA, so most of our current games run on CDT afternoons and nights throughout the week and weekend, but we have a wide variety of time zones too, and we've been looking for more variety to accommodate our members across the pond.
We've got your basic "don't be an a-hole" rules, but a pretty strict no-ghosting rule, but don't worry, as long as it's not longer than a week or two, or you tell us you're gonna be gone for a while whenever you need to be, you should be fine.
The first new game's going to be a Dungeon of The Mad Mage "crazy dungeon crawler" type game. By the DM's description it's gonna be pretty loose, mostly to test more out-there character ideas. It's starting at level 5; probably running Thursday nights around 10PM CDT, we may only need one or two players for that before we're ready to start it.
The second is a "relatively short" level 20 campaign that's still being prepared by the dungeon master, so there's a few slots available, and no confirmed schedule or start date yet.
We're also looking for play-by-post/text game dungeon masters who love writing, obviously, for our more busy members and word-lovers.
Furthermore, since we have a bunch of games and members, there's often a few available slots opening and closing for games, and there's a wide variety of member schedules; so if you'd like to join any of those, or host a new game on the server, or at least be put on a waiting list to join instead, do still feel free to message me.
Not sure how many people have played in a campaign that actually makes it to level 20. Many dream of those 11d6 sneak attacks or being the resilient monster-killing, spell-flinging, continent-hopping, time-stopping mythical super-hero; but not many actually get to play it.
Thinking about running a short campaign at the end of the month at LEVEL 20 (27 point buy) for those interested. It has 3 chapters and each chapter should take 3-6 hours to complete depending on RP and Group Dynamics.
Let me know/DM me if you'd be up for it, we have about 3 or 4 that are interested. Thinking 3-5 PCs would be Ideal.
Character creation at this level takes bout an hour or two so yall have some time. 27 point buy Starting equipment: 2 uncommon Items 1 rare 50k GP
Item cost:
Legendary 50k gp
Very Rare 25k gp
Rare 5k gp
Uncommon 500 gp
3 only attuned, unlimited for the rest. Magic Item effects do not stack (only one volume manual of +2 wis)
Relevant Lore: Yugoloths are fickle fiends that inhabit the planes of Acheron, Gehenna, Hades, and Carceri. They act as mercenaries and are notorious for their shifting loyalties. They are the embodiments of avarice. Before serving under anyone's banner, a yugoloth asks the only question on its mind: What's in it for me? Spawn of Gehenna. The first yugoloths were created by a sisterhood of night hags on Gehenna. It is widely believed that Asmodeus, Lord of the Nine Hells, commissioned the work, in the hope of creating an army of fiends that were not bound to the Nine Hells. In the course of making this new army, the hags crafted four magic tomes and recorded the true names of every yugoloth they created, save one, the General of Gehenna. These tomes were called the Books of Keeping. Since knowing a fiend's true name grants power over it, the hags used the books to ensure the yugoloths' loyalty. They also used the books to capture the true names of other fiends that crossed them. It is rumored that the Books of Keeping contain the true names of a few demon lords and arch devils as well. Petty jealousies and endless bickering caused the sisterhood to dissolve, and in the ensuing power grab, the Books of Keeping were lost or stolen. No longer indentured to anyone, the yugoloths gained independence, and they now offer their services to the highest bidder.
The Books of Keeping. When all four copies of the Books of Keeping disappeared, Asmodeus and ·the night hags lost control of their yugoloth creations. Each Book of Keeping still exists, drifting from plane to plane, where the brave.and the foolish occasionally stumble upon them. A yugoloth summoned using its true name, as inscribed in the Books of Keeping, is forced to serve its summoner obediently. The yugoloth hates being controlled in this manner and isn't shy about making its displeasure known. Like a petulant child, it will follow its instructions to the letter while looking for opportunities to misinterpret them.
