Since november 2018, i've been runing an in depth 5E homebrew campaign with 6 players. We play weekly on fridays, 8pm EST time. The game happens on Roll20 and Discord voice chat. We use DnDBeyond character sheets of course. It's a high magic setting, lots of roleplay and very in depth story. I'm looking for an LGBT friendly player to join our party, to fill it out to the intended 7 player party, that i would like to have. The game is heavily influenced by lore from Critical Role, but is not a canon game. We've played for almost 8 months and intend to go for at least 4 years more with this campaign.
The current party consists of an Aasimar Warlock of the Raven Queen; a Paladin of Vengeance, also follows the Raven Queen; The Tempest Domain Dwarven Cleric of the Stormlord; a warforged gunslinger; an Anduva'a Wizard (Homebrew race with a long story behind it). The 6th member was a firbolg druid that unfortunately fell in a battle with a Death Tyrant, a terrible undead beholder.
I am very interested in story and love writing lots of lore around the backstory i receive from each player, to provide a unique storyarc for each, that allows them to explore the world in their own personal journey. This means, the more you give me, the more i will be able to make it a truly unique experience. I'm not limiting your race and character to anything other than what DnD Beyond offers. And for that, i am sharing content in my campaign, providing access to all of the books.
The game is in a high-magic setting. Magic items are very common and more powerful than your average DnD campaign. The power curve is a lot steeper than your normal game as well. I have created many homebrew mechanics that help provide the tools to keep up with the power curve. This means that the combat encounters are also a lot more difficult than your normal campaign. But it hasn't been slaughter city. We've had 1 player death and that came to be out of carelessness. So there should be fear of combat. But wise caution is very much recommended.
I also record the audio of each session and upload it unlisted as a podcast for the players to listen to as reference, in case they want to remind themselves of something or if they miss a session. This is only for the players, we don't share it outside of our discord.
If you are interested and willing to commit to this long term story and campaign, post here and/or DM me. I prefer that you write your backstory to fit the world. I have fully homebrew map, a lot of lore and info that i'm more than happy to provide to help you figure out your origin in the continent of Khamo, on planet Dandur.
Dandur, or The Arrow, as the world is referred to, is an oddly shaped planet. While spherical, it's 3 mountainous continents lie on one side, creating a pointy tip. If weren't for the water, the planet would look just like an arrowhead, hence the name. Constructed from an asteroid, the planet has 7 moons, which orbit Dandur in such order, that the gravitational center of the planet is not the center of the solid mass, allowing for the continents to stand tall above the sealevel. As the opposite hemisphere from the continents is just a wide uncharted mass of blue, no one ever ventures there. And the few that have been brave enough, have not returned to tell the tale.
The 3 continents are large and far apart. Trade between them is small if it exists at all. Political climate is not friendly, most people live their whole life without learning much about the other continents. Past conflicts were violent and are tend to be left to the lips of poets and bards, in their sad songs and tales of heroes past. Due to the size of the continents, despite the different geographical locations, they are all self sustaining, allowing for fully domestic trade system for each continent.
The northern continent is called Aveg. With pale white cliffs, mixture of marble and ice, the continent stands high above water. Harsh cold climate has made it unpleasant for the small human population, which is fortunate for the continent, as it is a small population of humans. Majority of the civilization consists of dragonborn, thieflings and Eladrin. A wide variety of smaller communities lie around the continent. Main source of food is hunting and fishing, as the continent has vast amount of mountain and underground lakes, populated with delicious species of fish and other underwater life.
The polar opposite, southern continent of Tajjaheem, is a wild snowy jungle. Populated by thick pine and cedar forests, the continents gives home to plethora of wild species. The large human civilisation on the continent is the strong cause to keeping the wildlife population in check. Along with firbolgs, giants and orcs, they cover all major settlements. Some more exotic races call Tajjaheem their home, but the islands to the north of the continent house many tribes and herds of all shapes and colors.
And so we are left with Khamo, the tallest of mountains have birthed on this continent. The deepest of lakes have been splashed around as paint from an artists brush. The thickest of forests cover valleys between the tall peaks. From equatorial jungle to breezy tundra, the continent offers diverse climate like no other. Whatever your heart desires. The richest of the 3 continents, the most populated and the most urbanised, Khamo is the jewel of Dandur.
Wow. Yes. I'd be interested. What level is the party?
Backstory:
Tiefling female. Probably wizard/psion hybrid. Noble Adept background, Inauspicious birth. Orphan, doesn't know parents, sold to be a sex slave. Masters discovered she can do psionics and arcane magic so they trained her to be a spy. Ended up double crossing her masters in exchange for freedom, killing most of her former masters. Assassins may or may not be after her. Also, which version?
Oozes sex appeal, btw. I can adapt story to fit world.
Hey I would be interested in joining, Im interested in playing a Human(variant) Monk, functional back story sailor.
From a small fishing town (maybe from the bay of Toldass), lost his family to the sea and spent must of his later childhood working as part of a small fishing crew. Felt a higher calling and wanted to the leave the small town for more than just a fishing run. One night was attack by (insert applicable bad thing here, I.E. pirates, kua toa, ETC) realized he had magic potential but also an inept ability to fight growing up on their own.
Brash and hot head but still caring, quick to defend friends and not afraid to risk it all for his "Families" benefit.
backstory: when him and his sister were born its caused theres mothers death and changed their father, he became more abusive and angry but once he went to hit my sister so i stude up to him and got kicked out and left on the street were i struggled, my sister trained with the night chief and became a fighter were as i met my master who taught me the ways of the rouge.
If you still have a spot, I'd love to chat with you about joining.
Hikari (high elf) was born into a well off life and through a series of unfortunate events, her family lost what wealth they possessed. She was forced to live the life of a street urchin. Too ashamed to ask for help, she resorted to stealing for herself which has led to more than a life of survival. It has led to a life of greed and entitlement. She steals things she can so that she can present herself as still living the life she was born into. (Rogue, Arcane Trickster).
I'd be extremely interested in joining in, if you haven't found someone already.
Bit about myself - My names Jessica. I've been playing D&D off and on since college, and D&D 5e, since 2015. I'm a Canuck, but I live in the MidWest. Also, very queer so I'm always wanting to join LGBT friendly games. Anything else? Feel free to ask me.
Character idea (just an overview... I have a lot more to add here) Ja'Hera a Wood Elf Ranger (I'd prefer to use the UA Beast Master Ranger). She's a adventurous, young for an elf (33), but no naive women whom left family and her home to strike out on her own. Escaping the expectations of those around her for what her life would be, she saute the forest and its solitude. Learning to live an exist off the land, and to protect it from those who would corrupt or exploit it. Through a series of events Ja'Hera inherited a family, in a band of Dwarven traders, moving with them on their routes. The traders were attached by a young dragon, and her friends where killed. She was chased from her native woods and trapped in a land of undeath, and horror.
While attempting to survive, she befriended a runt Dire Wolf the awkward women found warmth in a friend whom she saved from her own pack, that was trying to kill the wolf. She named her Tee'sia and the two became inseparable. Tee'sia speaking more with actions and demeanor for the two, than Ja'Hera could with her shyness.
Lost in a land she knew little about, the women found others whom had found themselves unable to leave. Together they set out to discover what was befalling this land, and escape. In the process of this Ja'Hera lost her life to the undead that stalked them. Brought back by a drive she wasn't able to understand (Revanancy). Eventually she and her friends escaped, but Ja'Hera persisted. She honed her skills, and felt a drive to eliminate the blight of undeath from the world. This was her driving purpose. She roams now culling them where she can, and losing pieces of herself along the way, seeking a relief (cure) from her plight. All the while her tenious grip on the world of the living, tied firmly to her connection with her even-present companion, Tee'sia
I have a concept for a human rogue thief with urchin background I put together for another campaign that never started. I made it to really push my RP and story telling.
I'm 44, have no problems with LBGTQ. Originally played 0e back in the early 80's for a few years, and recently got back into it again because of CR, been playing 5e for about 2 years now and well versed with the rules, and decent at RP and storytelling.
If I can DM you the details. It will be a long one. But I don't want to risk spoiling anything if by chance I get to join.
