Hi my name is Cameron 18 (him/he) I`m new to d&d and have only ever gotten to the character creation step and never experienced an actually game I have a Wood elf monk that i have created and would love to actually play if you want me to join your party reply to this post or message me on discord
The question is what kind of campaign are you looking for, people talk about sand box, and story arc.. and in practice it does make a difference. while in a "story arc" the party may change if a character is killed and unrecoverable, or a player has to drop and another joins.
I am in a "sandbox" where my main character has seldom gone out hunting or adventuring with the same people.
You can choose to Roleplay, joining the "Willowdale Adventurers Guild", or Not!, Join the Underground, Or Not!, Stay at the Temple [for an affordable donation], the the Sleepy Whollow Inn, or Not. My Aarakocra Monk with a proficiency in survival is nested on a roof near the square. But you have to read the rules creation.. thread.. they play somewhat high stat. characters.
You may actually be more comfortable with a more stable party and schedule; since this morning my Noble Knight; his gnomish squire, and half elven valet, and human cook; both females who this LG golden dragonborn sorcerer is married to. [hiding from the soaps; and the flaw I was silly enough to roll for, for him]
today he has woke up.. gone with his whole crew to breakfast, The serving over seen by his Missy of the Board, then all four together take their morning promenade; [what they are doing now as I type this] the noble investigator watching the shadows of the city square for activity of those using the area to get into the underground.
and I have no clue yet what adventure.. or party may form to hopefully draw him away from that activity.
