I’ll be working on starting up a new campaign this weekend for everyone interested. I’ll post the link when it’s ready to join. The games will likely be run in alternating weeks. Or possibly one on a weekend and one during the week. We’ll have to see what times work for everyone. I can’t do two in the same day though. That’s a bit too much.
I really would like to join. I don't have any major time constraints. I should be able to play whenever it's best for the rest of the group. Only major downside is that I've been away from d&d for a while so it might be best to consider me a new player as far as 5th Edition goes.
Hey, I'm Dylan, nice to meet you! I'd love to join your game, always been interested in streaming D&D. My Discord is Igneul#0756 if you want to message me there. I assume we'll talk about characters later, so that's all for now! Hopefully will talk to you soon.
Okay so the link to my other campaign will be posted soon. The first one will be streamed on Discord, following the adventure path Lost Mine of Phandelver. That one is now closed and I’ll be talking with everyone playing on Discord soon to discuss our characters and when we’ll be doing sessions.
The second one will be a play-by-post game on this website. Though there will be combat, it’s also quite RP focused. Namely, I want it to be character driven. We’ll be fleshing out backstories, personalities, likes, dislikes, fears, relationships old and new, etc. I do have some source material I’m basing their adventures on, but it won’t be on a set track like an adventure path. It’ll be about their interactions with each other and the world around them, and developing them into legends, not just in game mechanics, but with stories that will be passed down through the generations. This will be for 5-6 level 5 characters. For those that enjoy creative, highly descriptive writing and who want their characters to be more than stat blocks.
Really like the direction of the new campaign. Just to clarify, are you okay with a level 1 character? Or should we roll a character and get to level 5 first? Thanks!
You can create them at level 1 and then what I did was add one level at a time. Gives you a chance to see what each level adds to your character. Plus it’s much easier to give your character accurate health points and to add spells if they have them. If you start at 1, they’d be pretty far behind the party power-wise, but if you’re okay with that, it could be interesting story-wise why they joined the group.
Hello! I'm new to D&D, however i'm really enjoying it! My friends and I started playing, but real life has made most of them have to drop out. I would really like to find a new group and start a first level adventure! You can reply here or use my Discord Thacher#5303, if you still have room. Thank you!

Would anyone be interested in playing in a “realistic” (in a social sense, but still high fantasy) setting where some non-human species are typically marginalized or at least accepted only with caution? Or visa-versa with non-human societies. Others might be accepted openly in one place and mistrusted in others. There are some species, like Tieflings, that often are already seen in a negative light most places, but even then I’ve found that the perceptions of various species, even extreme cases like Tieflings, by others and society at large are often blurred or ignored in a typical game and that makes playing different races less exciting story-wise. There are also races that are more rare (like Aasimar) and that should remain relevant. Everyone is treated the same (bar doing some extreme action in front of others), which is a lovely sentiment but kind of boring. Choosing a race becomes about having cool racial abilities at that point. Basically I’m asking if you’d be okay with paying closer attention to the lore so we can have more dynamic characters. That doesn’t mean some rare race with an unusual class and/or background should get more spotlight than a human fighter that was one of many soldiers in an army. There are advantages of blending in and consequences for standing out too. I’m all for everyone getting to explore the strengths and conflicts of their characters, and sharing the spotlight.
Sounds a little like that new show Carnival Row. Or how on Critical Roll Sam Riegel plays his Goblin character, Nott, with using a half mask to disguise herself as a half-ling to avoid dirty looks from people. I don't want to play a Racist, but it would add a layer of depth and conflict to a story for sure!
I'm mostly interested in a starting adventure. I'm still kind of new to D&D. If we're starting at level 1 I would join! I'd be playing a Human Fighter, so hopefully I don't get too much shade thrown my way. ;)
I would start at level 1, but I really want to experience slightly higher level play. I think the furthest I got playing in another group was level 4. Just having turned level 5 in Pathfinder I think. It’s a challenge to keep a campaign going long enough to get to a high level, though I’m certainly willing to try.

I should check out that show. Lol you don’t have to be racist if you don’t want. But what you described with Nott is something that could happen.

Hi, are you still accepting players for the Play-by-Post? If so, I am interested in joining!
Well I'm in! Let me know when you are ready. when you have enough people, and I guess we could schedule a "Session 0". I'm free most nights.
