We are a group playing in the Kickstarted Journey To Ragnarok campaign setting with mostly home-spun content dependent on character developments. We have been playing for six months, and unfortunately, one of our players just moved out-of-state. Our bad luck could be your gain as we are now looking for one more player to join our group!
We are a group of 5 players and me as the DM. We are in the 30-50 year range, and most of us are parents. We play every Wednesday between 7.30pm and 11 pm, in the playroom at my house in Somerville, near Porter Square. Parking is easy for being Somerville.
The players are level 8 at the moment, and we are moving towards the end of the first act. If you join now, you get a chance to get acquainted with the world before the seismic start of the second act. The goal is to take the campaign all the way to level 20, and I hope to wrap it up within a year. But don’t worry, I already have a second campaign in the works, and several people in the groups are long-time DMs. This is the best group I’ve played with, and I hope that we will keep meeting for years to come.
The campaign setting is very well fleshed out and an open-world environment with exciting character options, clans, and NPCs. The overall adventure story is world-changing and epic based on well researched Norse Mythology. It seems that Ragnarok - the end of the world and gods - have arrived. But who is behind it? And can it be stopped?
I try to keep the game to 40% role-play, 30% exploration, and 30% combat. The players lean more towards role-playing than battle even if we all enjoy both. We use DNDBeyond to keep track of characters; I use BattleBards for music during the session, and we use slack as needed in-between sessions. We tend to play combats using battle maps and miniatures (could use more!).
We welcome any experience level, and we are a well adjusted and friendly group.
If this sounds interesting to you, then please send me a message!
Some player creation details: You will start at level 8 (same as the groups current level). Human (Alternative) is only race available. Standard point buy. All published material accepted. Each class also has a campaign specific subclass available and there are many cool campaign based backgrounds to pick from. I have added them all to Dndbeyond (as a private share) and I will send a players guide PDF with a lot more details.
Hello, im Brandon 24yo, I live 5mins outside of boston. I'm new to D&D but am excited and ready to learn. I'd love the opportunity to be a part of your game and can play any style of character. Love to hear back from ya and hope you have a great day.
