I figured that since I started the thread that tried to bring together Iowa gamers oh so long ago, now that I've moved to SE MN, I might as well start a thread to bring together gamers in this area as well.
Give a shout out if you're in the Winona MN vicinity. Hopefully this thread will help some people to put together epic groups of like minded tabletop RPG addicts.
I might be looking to start a game myself, but that won't be for a month or two, after the school year gets settled in and my regular schedule shakes out.
Hey, I've actually never played but I've listened to all of Not Another DnD podcast (along with a couple others) toying around with the idea of playing. Even bought an older version of a player manual. But I know you're not in a 'deadzone'. The comic book store here used to host some groups from what I understand, I know a girl who gets some president of a DnD club here, and then I've seen people filling out character sheets at the brewery. But yeah, call JimmyJams and they can probably hook you up.
I'm interested if finding a group around here as well. Love the game and I currently am looking for a semi large group to play with. If you find anyone let me know
New to playing DnD (online currently), and my husband and I are very interested in joining an in-person group. Is there such a group by chance in Winona or nearby by chance?
I would love to start a group if you're interested. My son would be happy to play and if I DM and you and your husband play, that would be enough to give it a go. Send me a private message and we can talk about it.
Yeah, that's a long way to drive to play. I sent you a PM, but I'll put it here too, in case others are looking. Jimmy Jams comic and game shop, as of June 13th, opened their game room back up to a 25% max capacity, which allows for 14 people. I'm not sure if they are doing Adventurer's League again, or not, but if you find a group, you're always welcome to play there, as long as you're following mask protocols and social distancing guidelines.
Our at home group is currently full, but if that changes in the future, I'd be happy to let you know. Happy Gaming!
I live in Winona currently I'm interested in looking for a group to join...I have about 8 years of experience as both a dm and player...although I like being a dm more.
To anyone still looking, we just had a couple of players drop out of our (usually bi-monthly) Sunday afternoon game. If you've got Sunday afternoon availability, or know someone who does, hit me with a direct message. We're still trying to decide if we want to have new players join the existing story, or scrap everything and start from scratch, so your voice in that regard would be important.
Hi!! I know I’m like really really late to this but I’ve recently been getting really into the game and have been searching for a campaign! I’ll be attending Winona State University come spring and was hoping to find a few people so I wouldn’t be all alone 😅😅. If anyone’s still available, sign me up!!!!
Hey @addisonredman, there is a pretty active gaming community on campus at WSU, so I think you should have no trouble finding a few people to play with there. Just check out the Winona Gaming Community section of the clubs and organizations page. I believe they have an active Discord channel, as well as a facebook group. https://www.winona.edu/student-life/clubs/student-clubs/

Yikes! Am I in a D&D deadzone? Over a month since my first post and not one shout out from any gamers in the nearby area...?

I've been playing at D6 over in Rochester since living in Winona. Would be great to cut down the drive.
I have played a lot of 3.5 games, and have played and run 5th Ed as well.
