The year is 996 Post-Sundering, and the reclusive nations of Sephritair's shattered planes are stirring, fueled with a sense of urgency as not so long ago their placid skies began to crack, literally, and the dead...no longer seem complacent. Various world leaders scramble to understand, unite, blame, secure, ...seize. Unsuspecting adventurers find themselves wedged between intrigue and wars, as a larger, distant and global threat grows. Many scramble to adapt, seek answers, & rise to the greater call. Many...just seek to survive.
Beneath all, a long-forgotten struggle between the known gods and the hidden begins anew. Your adventure starts here.
The Campaigns!-
Wayward Lands campaigns are paid, ongoing campaigns set in a single, unified homebrew setting designed to provide optimal immersion, a sense of inclusion, and a gentle lore-learning curve. Though Sephritair is run as a living world, the heart of each campaign is the players, their stories, and choices, and how they relate to the greater events of this epic setting.
Mechanics-wise, all groups play weekly and are run using a basic 5e ruleset with a few minor house-rules added to make the experience more welcoming to newer players. DM does character accents & voices! Leveling is benchmark. Sessions run three to four hours. All parties max/lock at 6 committed players & are currently at lvl10! Cost is $14 per player per game payable via Kofi. More specific details about logistics are available upon request.

Application Process-
2 Questionnaires & A Trial Run!
Step 1- Please complete the application form for Wayward D&D Adventures via- THIS LINK!
Step 2- Once I have your answers, I will contact you via your provided email with a more detailed questionnaire on player preferences, character details, and playstyle. This may involve some back & forth.
Step 3- Should everything look good after that, I'll work with you to set up a free "trial run" game to complete the interview process and see if our in-action playstyles are a fit. *Do note if you are joining a pre-existing group, there may be a slightly longer "trial period" beyond the first free game to determine if your style will mesh well with the existing team long-term.
About The DM!-
Hi there! Name's September. I'll be your story-pilot for this evening. Buckle up! We're in for a nerdy ride!
Seriously though- I am a 40-something creative writer, critter, & avid roleplay enthusiast. My DM experience began a bit unconventionally, as I gleaned most of my chops running persistent story arcs for large groups of players (30-100) in a variety of MMORPGs over the course of ~15 yrs. I have however switched over to tabletop, and am LOVING it, as it enables a much more personal, and immersive story. I've been running table campaigns now for a little over a year & a half! Oh, & I am also an artist & graphic designer. All your home-drawn maps are-belong to me. :)
Rates/Disclaimer-
These games will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of $14 per player, per session, via Ko-Fi. The first "trial-run" game is always free. DnDBeyond is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements.
Why Paid?-
A girl's gotta caffeinate! But more seriously, doing these campaigns as paid games lets me focus exclusively on delivering immersive and beautiful, personalized tales to my players. It also helps cover costs for reference materials & expenses (I have content-share for the legendary bundle on DnDBeyond and more!), as well as covers extensive prep time & labor making art!
This rate includes for you: one reliable 3 to 4hr game session weekly, a personalized character token to be updated annually, access to the game's world-anvil wiki as it grows, as well as access to a thriving, small and friendly discord community of your fellow adventurers.
All told, I do my very best to make every session worth every penny. And I never ask for payment for our first "trial run." Roleplay is personal, and I strongly believe it's essential to ensure we are a good fit for each other before committing to a regular long term game.
That said, I hope to hear from you! & I look forward to helping you craft -your- story.
PS- Check out the awesome player-made IC recruitment poster for the Wild Cards replied further down! Scrolly!
Hi! If a game on Friday could start at 1 or 2pm, I'd join! Unfortunately, 3pm would be too late for me. I didn't want to spam the application link with this request. Thank you! ^^
Edit: now I was able to find the price. Can't do $14 p/s. I kinda hoped it or be less x3 Ignore this request (not sure how to delete a comment)
@Larax22- The times are not flexible as you'd be joining a pre-existing group, most of which have been running weekly, reliably, for a solid year steady now! & That's too bad re-price! I try to remain accessible, 14$ is cheaper than a movie once a week for most of my players. A 4 hr movie devoted to their own crazy adventures no less! Thank you for letting me know it was hard to find the rate though, I made a point to fix that on my site. <3 It's a brand new web-page as I expand, gotta nail out the kinks!
Meanwhile, I wish you the best of luck finding something in your time-slot and price range! Tons of games out there in the D&D sea.
(on mobile, posted a comment but can't see it. Cleared cache, still can't see it. I guess it didn't send. Sorry in case you see it twice)
@ThatBardThere I'm not saying that it is unreasonable. I'm just saying that I currently can't afford it right now.
I'm trying to save as much as possible because I want to move to Canada next year. But if it wasn't for that (and if the timing would be right) I'd join
Peliel Covenwing from The Good Company (Monday 6pm PST/9pm EST) here. I put the peculiar in the "Peculiar yet Kind Do-Gooders..."
Before joining this campaign, I had played with a few other free online DM's. Nothing bad to say about those, other than the fact that the revolving door of players quitting or disappearing invariably caused those DM's to close their doors and quit too.
I was pretty skeptical about paying to D&D, but after over 5 months, I have to say I am very pleased. If I have to give one reason why people should consider paying to D&D, I would have to say it's the commitment. I'm no longer worried that our illustrious DM will close up shop, especially since there are several parties all participating in the same world at the same time. There's more commitment from the players too. When game time starts, everyone is in character. No off topic OOC interruptions. No 'Ugh, sorry, what just happened?' I was doing something else...' shenanigans. Just 4 hours of "Wayward Lands."
Long Time player in both a Monday and Friday group here to tell you that the wayward lands are a blast.Whether your looking for awesome role playing opportunities or just want to get to some amazing combat moments like say decapitating a devil while riding on the back of a Pegasus than wayward lands is the place for you. Everyone on the discord is super friendly and welcoming with a plethora of different people from all around the world who just want to have some fun playing DnD. The world of the wayward lands is always ready for new adventurers.
I am also a player in two of the days (early wednesday and early Friday), and I say that this is one of the most engaging, most roleplay-centric DMs I've ever had a chance of playing with. I recommend, especially if you're like me and have been seeking for a DM that puts backstory/roleplay to the forefront and isn't just a dungeon-crawling/combat-heavy DM.
I’m in the early Wed group and have been playing with September for a little over a year now. I sincerely have nothing but good things to say about her or the way she runs her games; she’s just super excellent. The homebrew world is BIG and interesting and full of colourful characters - and the fact that the groups she runs all exist in the same world often leads to some really fun situations and dynamics.
I was a first timer when I started playing with the Wayward Lands gang last year, but September + the group members were super patient and helpful, and it’s been such a treat to explore the world alongside them. She’s built a lovely little community, and she’s always eager to help make everyone’s experience as good as it possibly could be.
The fact that it’s paid speaks to the quality of the game she runs - it’s reliable and well crafted, with lots of cool little extras like maps and character tokens.
If you’re on the fence about joining, take the leap! Hijinks and quality banter interspersed with well written lore and Drama awaits ✨
I've been playing early Mondays for almost half a year. Trust me if you want a crazy anything goes mercenary/pirate adventure we're the group you want! In fact I've even made a small recruitment poster for our team. We're looking for all kinds and you will have an amazing adventure with the crew.
The adventure of your life awaits you every Monday!
if you want to play DnD in what is best described as an FCU (fantasy cinematic universe) of sorts with the potential for crossover episodes with other groups and a DM who perfectly blends world-ending threats with the incredibly personal stories that you bring to the table, as well as join an ever-expanding community of people to call friends... this is most certainly the game for you.
the things you do will affect other people and characters, likewise their decisions will affect you and your group. you can fail and succeed in incredible fashion and most importantly you will have an absolute blast.
I love you guys so much! <3 Just fixed a few details- There is now a TUESDAY game! Early mondays have moved to early tuesday- to a better timeslot for you excellent east coast friends! Also some groups are nearly full, and others have more space. Current main post is edited to reflect the updates!
