Adventure Setting
For centuries, rumors of buried riches in a long-lost mine have attracted treasure seekers and opportunists to this mostly forgotten corner of the Forgotten Realms, but no one has ever succeeded in locating its entrance. In recent years, people have started resettling the small town of Phandalin, a rough-and-tumble frontier town located at the center of this adventure. A trio of dwarves have recently discovered the hidden entrance to the mine with plans to explore its depths and reclaim what treasures it may be hiding.
Unfortunately for the dwarves, they are not the only ones interested in this mine. A mysterious villain known in these parts only as the "Black Spider" may also want this newly discovered mine for himself for an unknown purpose.
Will you and your party impact the fate of Phandalin? Will you discover the identity of the "Black Spider"? Will you claim a long lost treasure hiding within the mines or will you discover a completely hidden plot in this corner of the realm?
About the GM
I’ve been playing and running Dungeons and Dragons campaigns for over 30 years. I started playing in 1979 and have never stopped. I am currently running or taking part in two separate campaigns for 5e. I’ve been using Fantasy Grounds for 5+ years and have run many online campaigns. My main goal is to ensure all of my players are having fun as they create memorable experiences. I truly love sharing this amazing game with new players.
Campaign Set Up
Sessions will run 3-5 hours, with the average session lasting 4 hours.
Games to be played on one of the following evenings: Mon, Tues, Wed or Sun. (7pm-11pm EDT.).
This adventure will advance characters from 1st to 5th level.
All players will be given access to the GM's shared DNDBeyond resources as well as a character building toolset. This also includes shared access to the resources within Fantasy Grounds virtual table top.
I am looking for a group of 2 to 5 players with little to no experience, but with a high level of interest in playing the game. This will be an opportunity for you to learn the game under the guidance of a patient and well seasoned GM.
Player Expectations
Be polite to your fellow players and GM.
Take turns when speaking and listen to your fellow players.
Ask questions! This adventure is meant to be a learning experience for players looking to better understand the game.
Be punctual. Give at least 24 hour notice before missing a session. Consistent absenteeism may result in removal from the group. The game literally relies on your participation.
I fully encourage the players to explore the entire realm including all of its non-player characters, locations and denizens.
Please make sure you have access to a reliable headset and microphone. Nothing disrupts game play like faulty equipment or an open microphone with lots of cross-talk in the background.
Know your characters backstory. Think about where your character comes from, what motivates you, your values, etc. I promise you that that your level of fun is directly tied to the amount of thought you put into building your character.
HAVE FUN!

I was blown away by the response to this post. I've been playing this game since I was a kid and I am so excited to experience what I would call a revival of the game that I love. That being said I had no problem filling my table. I do plan on hosting more campaigns starting January 2020.
