The age of kingdoms has come to an end. A virulent demonic plague swept over the land and the monarchies have fallen. Refugees have run to the Badlands, an area previously ignored by the civilized folk due to the monsters and poor soil quality. The sparse population meant the plague never took hold. You are refugees or their descendants. You have the difficult task of rebuilding in a harsh land.

Looking for a persistent world to play in? A large, active community of players and DMs to adventure with? Do you like the challenge of new stories, dangerous puzzles, and ongoing plots? Do you want to challenge yourself and add to our living world as a DM or a player? The Badlands could be your new home.

The Badlands is a discord server going on since February of 2018, with an active community of players and a dedicated team of DMs. Its geared toward community play, and you can be sure to find interesting stories and amazing players to team up with as you find your way. This includes DM driven games as well as player initiated games alike, so you’re able to push plots and also let DMs get creative. It’s run primarily on EST but has slots and games available for many timezones. 

The server is open to those new to 5e, and veterans. It functions primarily on discord and Roll 20. It’s run RAW, but has detailed homebrew aspects, like our market system and downtime day system that allows character growth, and the ability to craft. 

We are currently planning a series of Halloween games from October 28th to November 2nd! Our dedicated group of DMs want to spook the pants off of you, and now is the perfect time to sign up and build your first character.

Yeah I would like to join my only  problem is what exact time?

I've been playing 3.5, 5E, AND Pathfinder for about 7 years and this looks pretty interesting. wouldn't mind joining.

theres no exact time, we post games weekly all the time, similar to west marches but we dont follow that style exactly

you end up seeing a game announced for a time a dm can run, and sign up if you can make it, or! you end up saying, "hey guys, i want to explore" find a group and ask a dm to run

How do you run the games online? Do you just use DND Beyond?

We post our sessions using US Eastern time, but we post multiple weekly, similar to a west marches style game.

Very, very new at D&D here, but definitely interested in this!

Interested to join. How often a week is there a campaign going on? And is all races and subclasses(that are not homebrewed) allowed in the story?

Im pretty new to D&D but this sounds really interesting and fun, anyway I can get involved?

I am a new play and this seems like a good starting place for me I'm interested to join in.
