Filled - Eberron Game On Discord Sunday Nights CST - New Players Welcome

I am looking for players for a game slated to start on Sunday, November 24th.  We will begin playing at 7pm CST and sessions will last for 3 hours with a bio break in the middle.  We will be playing in the Eberron setting using a storyline I have modified from a past work. No experience with the setting is needed.  Each player will be a House Agent for one of the Dragon Marked Houses. This aspect will limit your race choice and background choice. Additionally, I will be including archetypes I would like you to build your character around.  I will work with you to help you build a character that you will have agency within play. These restrictions are due to the narrative arc of the story. Character creation will use the Standard Array and XP will be Milestone.

As a DM, I am looking for players with a mature and inclusive attitude.  I value roleplaying above all else and will encourage your participation in each session.  Mechanically, I do not adhere strictly to the rule book when I feel it will stifle play and may occasionally bring in elements from other systems if they provide a richer experience.  I do not tolerate disruptive or disrespectful behavior from the player or your character. I want everyone to have fun during play and if your idea of fun is snuffing out joy in others this isn’t the game for you.  I believe in collaborative storytelling and welcome input from the players and encourage you to add to your character as we play. I hope to maintain group consistency, but am willing to remove or replace players if they are not having a positive impact on the group.  We are here to play a game and have fun.

Once we form a group the game will be played using Discord.  I am not interested in using Roll20; please don't ask. If you are attached to minis and moving them around we will use digital tools that are less cumbersome to facilitate that.  There will be maps and visuals, but they are mainly for setting the scene. This game will be narrative-focused, by that I mean that players will focus more on Role Play and the situation than nitpicking the rules or power gaming.  I ask that the players make characters with depth rather than min/maxing their character to smash face. Players will need a mic for playing. We will use DNDBeyond for character sheets and Avrae will be available for rolling. If you are not familiar with Avrae, I will help you learn.  Gameplay warning: I do not tolerate metagaming and ask that you respect the privacy of the other players and their character sheets. Story Hook:

Peace is difficult when a war that lasted over 100 years is ended by a cataclysm as tragic as The Mourning.  The Last War touched the lives of everyone in Khorvaire and no one escaped without suffering. In the few years that followed the loss of Cyre, the fragile peace has been held not by the kings of the five great nations, but instead by the Dragon Marked Houses who fear the losses that another outbreak of violence will bring to the still-devastated economy of Khorvaire.  There have been rumors of a weapon, forged in the last days of the war, that has resurfaced and may soon be wielded to ignite the conflict once again. The Dragon Marked Houses have each sent a representative to take part in the search to find this weapon. Each house has its own reasons for participating in this alliance as long as it serves their goals. It will be a race against time in an adventure that feels like Game of Thrones meets Indiana Jones.

Darn, for a sec I saw Eberron and thought this might be a great opportunity to utilize my Warforged Character, but it doesn't look like the narrative would really support her backstory...

Sorry, I knew people would want Warforged and other stuff so I tried to put the info as early as possible to avoid wasting people's time.

For anyone on the fence about playing I will be holding optional get-to-know-you one-shots at the game time between now and when it starts so the players can get a feel for each other, me as the DM, and using the tools.
