I'm 37 and in the UK. I've wanted to try D&D for a while now but I haven't had any luck finding a group. I've played one game before in a shop that was nearish to me, but it's closed now.
I'm hoping to find a very patient person, or small group to help me learn to play. Due to my issues, I will need to relearn things and be reminded frequently about what I can and can't do during fights ect. I”m hoping I can make myself some cheat sheets to help me with things like this.
I'm also not sure how well I'll be able to take notes. So any tips or cheat sheets for that would also be good.
Another thing to add, although I don't act like I'm 5, my disabilites do make me mentally younger, so I can get a bit over excited about things. I know that it can be off putting for some people.
I hope this isn't too rambly. I can give more information if needed, but right now my mind is blank about what else to include
I'd be down to help you learn to play! I actually have a learning disability too so I guess we have that in common lol. I'm from the US but if we can get the timing worked out (as you're 5 hours ahead of me) and if you're comfortable with playing with someone a bit younger than you (I'm 16) I have a 1-on-1 mini-campaign that I've been meaning to play for a long time. I can give you more information if you'd like

I would be quite happy to help you learn as well, as long as times could be worked out.
