As the title suggests, I'm in the search for 1 to 3 new players for my Wednesday night (7:00-11:00 PM CST) homebrew session.
I spent a little over 3 months planning and creating this world and the stories within it. There are many intricacies, histories, mysteries, secrets and all sorts of points of interest in the world. The question is: will you uncover them? I as the DM have 0 control over what the players do, as the story is character background based. I do, however, continue world events and major happenings- whether or not you interact with it. Will the party discover everything I've created? No, and that's okay. I'm more interested in character development and the party interacting with the world and finding what they want.
Note taking and strong roleplay is a MUST. The party comes across many names, faces, lore and creatures that are all of my creation- so you cannot simply just look things up when they don't exist anywhere. That being said, I do use many concepts from official sources, just with my own twist. Same applies to certain rules in the game. I have a 6 page "Session 0" document that outlines all changes/modifications to rules and expectations. I also have 4 pages of things every character should know about the world- really just the general histories of the Nations of the continent. In depth stuff comes from when you decide where you're from.
When it comes to race/class, I'm very lenient- given that you aren't trying to break my game.
An important thing to note is: you will be joining an established party of 3. We're approximately 6 months in. We've got a cleric, a wizard and a bulwark. What I'm looking for is someone that will integrate with the party, become one of them and grow your character along with them. The reason behind looking for new players is that 3 is not enough. I'd love a party of 6 (so long as everyone feels they get to play enough), but that depends on how well the party meshes.
If you're interested, add me on discord [for the time being, will hold on this- there are a lot of potentials my group and I must go through] or post yours below, I will be checking both daily. After we've added each other, we'll discuss play style, character creation, etc..
My Discord is Jarvo#3111 would be very interested joining up and work with everyone to have a good time. There seems to be very few games that fit with my schedule but yours lines up perfectly.
I didn't think this thread would get so much attention. O.O
If you've added me via discord, please allow me some time to go through the messages and such.
To make my life easier, I won't reach out to you once I've added you- yes, I know, sounds like a total dick move- but rather, I'll wait for your message to initiate conversations and we'll go from there.
The topic I find myself asking the most on is that of roleplay skill and how in-depth you will go when it comes to backstories. Yes, I know that for certain backstories, you need world info- which is fine. For this, as to not give away all my creations, will make a small summary on what's happening- close to the 1-2 page ballpark- to give a rough idea. Of course, if you're looking for more, I can provide more.
I have a few questions, and one clarification, to ask about this:
Do players recruited through the forum require Discord? (I do have it, but I'm wondering if it's an absolute necessity for playing).
Is the game going to be played in real-time, or can we do play-by post online if our Timezone is incompatible?
Are weird Kobold Bards with a fondness for bagpipes allowed?
Finally, the clarification: The three other players: Are they playing physically at a venue chosen by the DM, or are they also using online services?
Ah I see where I should have specified, apologies! But yes, the game is run through Discord. I run a few D&D games for a gaming organization and that is also based on Discord. We're spread across the country, so running through Discord is a must.
The game is live with little outside our sessions.
Kobold bards with a fondness for bagpipes are allowed by me, however the world I've created may not be as accepting.
For visuals, we use roll20 on maps I create via dungeon painter studio.
Heya! I’m super interested in what your ideas are and it already sounds like a lot of fun to me. I am a new player though, so if I do something wrong please don’t be mad, aha. I’ve added you on discord, I’m FrenchBaquette#5514
Hey newer player here names Jeff I’m a serious role player and looking for a new group to join hit me up on discord I have a ton of character ideas I’d love to run by you if you’ll have me. I’m on EST but I have a pretty open schedule.
Very interested in your campaign. Been playing for 6 years across a number of campaigns. Very immersive and intensive roleplayer, with emphasis on exploring the psychology of my characters and the ensuing mental and emotional aspects of that.

That is why 'Alter Self' is a 1st level Bard spell, I believe. I think I have the answers I need, though, and I'll message you on Discord.
For some reason it wont search your Discord name
