Experience: 2–3 years of 5e oneshots and smaller modules, 4–5 years of other TTRPGs
Timezone: EST (UTC -5)
Availability: Aside from Sundays 3pm–7pm EST, when I play an online Anima campaign, essentially any time works. Between the COVID-19 shenanigans and my strange, strange sleeping schedule, I've got extremely flexible availability.
Gamestyle: As people who've had me as a player before can attest, I'm a very character-centric person. Once I have a character concept in mind, it isn't long before a complex backstory and fully-formed personality appear along with the concept. In person, that then tends to translate into my getting deep into character during sessions, affecting different voices, accents, and mannerisms as necessary. Online, most of that will come through either via voicechat, or by detailed text descriptions of a character's actions. With my focus on character in mind, I'm very much looking for a DM or campaign that intends to last for a good long while, and whose focus is on telling a good story moreso than a hack-and-slash style of campaign, though I'm not about to say no to fun combat encounters. A homebrewed campaign rather than an official campaign module would be nice as well, since I enjoy worldbuilding and lore generation a lot, and would happily sit down to just craft backstory for a campaign setting for a few hours. Dark themes and R-rated content don't bother me if they suit the story, and I give full reign for DMs to use my character's backstory against me. I also have no qualms being added to a campaign already underway but in need of a new player. So if you're a DM looking for somebody who'll put their all into roleplay and participate in worldbuilding, either reply to this thread, message me on here, or send a message to my Discord: Porcelain Boss#4396.
I have a pay to play game just about to start, our session 0 is tonight and first session will be next week. It's a homebrew setting of mine based on and influenced by Norse myth and culture. I can send you several documents about the world and the handful of homebrew mechanics I use (for example a rune system players can augment weapons and armour with).
I'm definitely a story DM. I've been told my style is similar to Matt Mercer's (not a brag, just giving a real-world example of what I prioritize in my game). Combat is a lot of fun and I don't shy away from it, but I go to great lengths to ensure each encounter is not only memorable, but also story-informed. I don't roll on random tables - if a combat encounter happens it does so because it makes sense to the story and will be relevant to where you are in the world and what you are doing.
We play Fridays at around 5 or 6 PM Mountain Time (7 or 8 EST) and session length is guaranteed around 3.4-4 hours.
Here is the roll20 listing for more info (don't bother applying if you don't feel like it, just message me here)
If interested i’m looking for players for a campaign set in Iskloft, a setting inspired by the vikings. It’s gritty and grounded but if interested we would love to have you. https://discord.gg/9nMEcVs
