TLDR: I'm searching for a group for some online D&D 5E shenanigans during this Pandemic we've all been involuntarily shoved into. Feel free to leave a message here or contact me via discord.
Name/alias: Ed
Discord tag: RedXMerc#3279
Group preferred: Online - We're hiding form the plague, folks!
Experience: Veteran, started with 3.0 when it was released.
Location/Timezone: Hawaii Standard Time
Availability: Weekdays after 3PM HST (9PM EST, 6PM PST)
Preferred role: Player (I have some characters I need to breath more life into)
Game style: Roleplay & Mechanics even mix, casual enough to let the roleplay breath. (Not interested in meat grinders, edgelord worlds, or west marches)
Further details:
Availability: I'd rather play after 3PM-ish HST (9PM EST/6PM PST) so that I can keep with the group once work picks up again. I've got more hours available right now, but that's due to the pandemic, so I want to start in hours I know I'll have long term. I've got a good low level campaign for my Saturdays so far, but I'm still in the market for another game that could run at a higher level, probably 5+, that would fit my extra time, or would keep me playing if my saturday game ends after this adventure.
Experience: I played a lot in previous years, but set it aside for a while due to job and family, but have recently picked it up again. My experience is mostly from D&D 3.0/3.5, but I have played some 4.0, 5.0, Cyberpunk, Star Wars, Shadowrun, and White Wolf, with each campaign being a good mix of mechanics and roleplay. I'm really liking 5.0 and want to get more experiences with it. I've done a little in Roll20, but I'm still learning and getting comfortable with online play. I have Discord and Skype if those are prefered over Roll20's video and voice functions.
Campaigns I'm looking for: I'm looking for games where I can immerse into playing some high fantasy adventure with a variety of themes where characters can develop through challenges. I'm ok with 18+ themes and bad stuff happening (it'd be great to have a group where I don't have to worry about an errant cuss word or two), but I'm trying to avoid super dark or meat grinder campaigns. Roaming around to see the bright and dark spots of a fantasy world would be fantastic, and homebrew or book-modified worlds are very welcome. I like most of the adventure WotC has put out, with the exceptions of Tomb of Annihilation and anything involving Ravenloft. However I'm not interested in west marches, as I've seen such campaigns either become the biggest personality overruling everyone, or try to become "communities" trying to suck in players like an MMO in what feels like a pyramid scheme.
