Two 1 Year experience players looking for game to play.

A friend and I are currently looking for a 5e game to play every so often online. We have about a year of dnd experience playing almost every week for a year.
We would like to play two character that already know eachother and who's backstories would intertwine. 
We would prefer to play in a campaign that is mostly revloving around the player character rather than a pre-written adventure but we are open to anything.
