About The DM
Hello! My name is Shasta and I've been playing on-and-off for about 3-4 years. I've DM'd a few times but not for a long time as the groups I DM'd before tended to not show up after the first session. I'm a semi-lax DM as I don't consider myself a stickler for rules and enough a few laughs but when something is serious, I get serious.
For my session we will be playing over Discord via voice chat on Thursdays PST and be using D&D Beyond for character sheets. Bellow, is a few other things I require from my players.
What I'm Looking For In Players
Must be free on Thursdays (12pm-7pm PST preferable)
Must have a Discord and know how to use it
Have a microphone and be able to speak
Be honest & respectful
Be 18+ y/o
Know at-least the basic rules of D&D
Be serious when I ask you to (No joke characters, please)
No 100% evil characters
Try going with the group not against it (just a suggestion though)
A Little About My Campaign Setting
Standard 5e D&D with "homebrew" (Witch + Craft supplement)
Lvl 3 point buy (any race & class is ok)
High fantasy with a touch of modern
Casual 50/50 combat and roleplay
Light diplomacy & battle tactics
I'm using some West Marches elements.
Remove the Encumbrance rule on your character sheet (still keep realism in mind)
lvl 3 point buy & milestone leveling
Crafting & Town Building
When I'm available other days you guys get to decided if you want to play that day
Players get to decide what they want to do
The town you start off in is a safe zone I.E No monsters and little to no quests in town
You get to build your town up & build new settlements if you'd like
You do not need to have the same players every time we play (Min. number of players to run a game is 2)
You don't have to play every game & you wont miss anything important because I'll post all important and world notes in
Want to join? Tell me a bit about yourself! Please tell me the following:
Nickname/Username
Discord ID
What time on Thursdays are you available?
How new are you to D&D?
Is there anything you're not comfortable with? I.E Any rules you may not understand or fully grasp
Tell me a little what character idea you have and/or a little about yourself and/or your play style
-I’ve been playing for a few months, but I’ve done a lot of reading and will gladly do more.
-Would you be allowing Eberron and Critical Role content for characters? (i.e. Warforged, Artificers, Dunamancy, Blood Hunters, Wildemount Racial Variants, etc.)
-I prefer to use magic users. The character I’ve played with most has been a Half-Elf Druid, and I’m considering branching out. I feel more comfortable with a broader skill set, such as a Knowledge Cleric I’ve been hoping to try out for a while. I might also try something more creative, but we’ll have to wait and see about that.
I'm EST but I would be available between those times (It's 3 PM-10 PM for me).
I've been DMing for about a year now for a group of people who were new to the game, so I think I'm relatively experienced.
There's not too much I'm really uncomfortable with, I enjoy lighthearted games but am ok with going into the serious stuff as well.
I've really wanted to play a wizard, specifically abjuration- I really like the concept of a bit of a paranoid, overprotective but loving wizard pal, maybe an older, grizzled gnome. I've also heard about the Witch + Craft supplement, I would love incorporation of that!
Hi I'm Larsa! I'm game for a game! Discord ID: SparrowLarsa#3723 As of right now, I'm available all Thursdays all day. May change when the virus is over and my job is opened back up. I'm relatively new to D&D. I played a pre-made character in a friend's campaign, but I've never made my own for D&D. Hope that's okay! (I've played other RPGs and I watch Critical Role and have the books but that's as much as I have) I think figuring out health is the hardest for me to understand.
So as for my character: It's a Barbarian who thinks they're a wizard. The only magic they perform is the hitting by the stick of a broken axe. Their "magic" has always been circumstantial and someone else has always cast without them knowing and my character took credit growing up. That's all I got.
I'm usually available at those times on thursdays (its about 3pm-10pm for me since EST)
I'd say I'm relatively new to D&D (I've only been actually playing for about a year or two)
I sometimes forget how magic exactly works so I may need a bit of nudging in the right direction with that.
I usually end up needing to fill whatever roles the party needs, so I don't really have a preferred class or type of character I play. I also tend to take a backseat to the other players, since I'm usually a bit more quiet and don't like talking over others much.
Also I'm trying to get into this with Selviorn, since we're trying to find a campaign for us to play together.
As of now all day, if my work schedule changes due to staff loss 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM EST
Played casual 3.5e with friends as a kid, still quite new to standardized 5e
I may need little nods or pointers with some intricacies with spells on occasion.
I typically run a chaotic good/chaotic neutral type character with personal motivations involving either personal gain/growth, or gain for close friends/family/anyone else they especially care about. Favorite classes have always been the rogue or bard types, sneaky or charismatic, though I don't mind playing more combat oriented classes. My longest running character across campaigns as a kid was a treasure hunter/thief who was not super combat proficient. I usually try to outwardly work with the party, though I may occasionally try to nudge nudge the party into taking a path more beneficial to my character, if my character is the more self-concerned type. (Holding on solidifying a character until I see what party might look like. Don't wanna come in wearing the same clothes as someone else and being "Well one of us has to change.)
Signing up with MimeTheAlmighty, we're both looking for a campaign to play together.
Sorry if this was poorly written out. I'm not really used to talking over forums and just kinda stole your formatting from the thread.
I'm good to go anytime during the weekends and between 5pm-11pm EST on weekdays (so pretty much the time range you specifies above) :)
I haven't played in a real game yet but I've watched a lot played (Critical Roll) and have been reading up on the rules as I've experimented with character builds.
The only questions I have are will you allow feats that make sense with a characters background and are we doing a starting equipment or gold beginning?
I've had an interesting idea of a goliath/cleric (LN) or drow/warlock (CG) but depending on group I love to experiment!
I feel I'll be versatile when it comes to play as I have a decent imagination and look forward to roleplaying! I like the idea of challenging combat and working with a group. I dont really know how well my playstyle will be as I've never played D&D but I've always been very open about being flexible to situations.
Thanks for taking the time to read and I hope to hear back from you! Have a great one! :)
Greetings, I have many nicknames, but one of my oldest is just simply Spec.
My discord ID is Vagus#0001, and I am available on Thursdays unless something comes up or something happens like work or school projects (Currently in high school for my junior year), but for the most part I will be available.
I am available anywhere around 3:15 pm to about 8:00-8:30 pm CST which is about 1:15 pm to 6:00 pm PST.
I have been playing D&D since my freshman year in high school so roughly 3-4 years on and off as most groups I'm with last only about 4-6 sessions max until there is never one held again.
I am comfortable with most any rules as long as it either makes sense or can be explained where I can understand it.
So I usually play a lawful/chaotic good or neutral lawful/chaotic character based around being a support/healer/tank, like cleric or paladin, or a rogue type, like the rogue and ranger, but wanted to play something a little different this time and go with something kind of more basic and that being a goliath barbarian just so I can have some fun. I plan on making him Chaotic Good because I want him to have his way of thinking on what he believes is good from what has happened in his lifetime and to create some fun/interesting interactions with others in the world. I am also a person who generally likes to be as helpful as possible and I think it can, sometimes (as it kind of depends on the person), can be pretty fun to help new players on their journey of making a character and roleplaying with them.
Hi! My username is Antium#0694 I am available all day on Thursdays I am not new to DND, I DM far more than I play, and I've been doing this for about 2 years! Thank you for the consideration!
Hey, I have a great webcam, mic and have discord and roll 20. I have been playing again for a short time as had not played since I was a kid and am so happy I fell back in love with the game.
I have a few characters with backstories I have written and am available to play whenever.
Available based on work at home but definitely online at the provided times
I am fairly new. I've been talking to different DMs and got a light guide and have a little idea on how to work around stuff.
Not really. I am pretty much comfortable with whatever works.
My character is a half-elf warlock, currently in early to mid stages of development. I tend to be fun to play with and i am friendly, i focus on tasks at hand and do what i can to achieve my goals
I'm somewhat new to DnD, I've been playing since January.
My character is an Aasimar Eldritch Knight with multiclass into Wizard. His backstory is mostly complete but it can be tweaked to fit the setting/story.
My username is Viking Gunslinger. But just call me Nick
My Discord is tnickd#3713
I'm available any time after 6pm US Central time. If I work my shift correctly, 4pm. Which is 2 PM PST.
I'm new-ish. Played 3rd edition many years ago, fell off for a while, played through one 5e campaign that died when Roll20 erased all our campaign notes.
I'm up for whatever. When you say ''touch of modern'', how much is a touch? We talking cell phones and cars, or gas lamps and steam trains? If I want a gun, are they available? Would it be a musket, a revolver, or a modern automatic weapon?
I've got one character listed, a Dragonborn Paladin that would be like a D&D version of Ciaphas Cain from the 40k novels. I can write a backstory that could integrate him into whatever campaign setting he'd be working with.
I always like playing a character with a good mix of martial and magical abilities, gives me options to do in combat that don't consist of whacking the enemy with a pointy thing, and interesting things to do out of combat.
What time on Thursdays are you available? Before 5 pm PDT
How new are you to D&D? I am 48 but played tons as a teen and know the 5e platform so experienced noobie.
Is there anything you're not comfortable with? I.E Any rules you may not understand or fully grasp - not really and am not afraid to ask and learn new stuff.
Tell me a little what character idea you have and/or a little about yourself and/or your play style - I have a few made here on D&D Beyond but would most like to play a half elf rogue with a guilt complex over his mom's death and a vendetta against the guild that killed her. or a half elf ranger that loves to kill dragons and has abandonment issues, I hope these give you an Idea how I like to play i really like to dive into a character and role play the shit out of them. I am a trucker that can't drive anymore due to a partial disability (my neck don't work right anymore) so I am going back to school to get my degree and become a counselor and psychologist the classes are all online at my own pace (thank you covid 19) and hae bunches of free time.
I am interested. I have been playing for 2ish years, mostly as a PC, but started DMing last month. I am in CA and can free anytime Thursday after 11:30am.
I have a discord account (randanay#2244) and many characters built on D&D Beyond waiting to play! I tend toward malee characters, but have played casters as well. I have a ranger/druid that I've been interested in trying out, but willing to do whatever is needed to balance a party. I love combat encounters, but am working on getting better at RP. I know the rules very well, but am not a rules lawyer, preferring more to have fun than stick to specific rules.
My husband also plays, and would be willing to join with me if it was needed to complete a group.
I was a theater kid in high school so I love the RP aspect of DnD, and a casual campaign is a-ok with me. I want to play an eloquence bard (which is a playtest subclass, if not permitted I'll play a valor bard instead) who is a female half-elf named Lacyn'thea who is rather soft-spoken and as such is a natural at ASMR with her soothing voice. She gets many clients asking her to sing them to sleep or convince enemies to calm down. She also loves the classics like Shakespeare and can make her allies "To be" and her enemies "not to be". I will be playing her with a formal British accent
