What kind of sci-fi films do you like and styles can you envision. A fond childhood memory was seeing Kubrick masterpiece of space Odessey now there I think the expanse is amazing
Ideas are good - I have ideas of which system to use (one close to dnd so limited skill change) -
I have a vision or playstyle one of nuance, trade, culture and with it a perspective of morality and a limitation because in reality space is vast and the possibilities endless but I'm happy for a discussion and modify or completely change it
As regards: Starwars (always preferred the imperium to the rebels and I found the fan love of SW a little much I'm not sure I could run a campaign here and make people happy, my main issue with SW might be that people would get frustrated I'm not getting it as so many are so passionate about it and the world) / Buck Rogers (fond childhood memories but no)
If I was to go movies/Tv i'd look towards some of elements from the following
HAL 9000 & Space Odyssey / Alien(s) / I played cyberpunk back in the day list any of the many films Bladerunner perhaps captures a dystopian world best / Expanse is an amazing series / Arrival handles alien life perhaps the best in any film I've seen
Anyone seen 'Arrival' that has to be one of the best sci-fi films ever for me alongside Kubrick's 2001
Authors / Books
Philip K Dick / Asimov / Harry Harrison & Stainless Steel Rat Series (you need comedy)
Wombat - not really had much back on sci fi to be honest - see how it goes and see if i can build up enough for a party I will get back to you-
I think its going to be more running Aqu Inc in space Spelljammer - trading in space essentially
And I put together a high concept piece of pure sci-fi and see if players can relate to it
Even then i suspect you wouldn't enjoy how my games run, you may want to find some other sessions - there is no way i would run Star Wars / Buck Rogers or Firefly as i don't have the right DNA or big enough fan to run them
I think you may struggle with me as a DM/GM - i never really got Star Wars/Star Trek/Buck Rogers the way a true fan would and anything with a clear definition of good/evil in which evil are almost comically inept as someone who reads a lot of Russian literature and I was brought up on RPG on 1st / paranoia / Call of Cthulhu / Bushido will have a challenging time with. Im more into comedy and challenges with high death rates and what might be seen by many as a moral ambiguity but I'd see as an exploration of characters in literature or exploring ideas and concept with aims and actions of your character not coming from how we are told to think or how you think others want you to think at its best it allows you to explore alternative views
Personally when I hear the word good often this is on the cultural terms of the person stating what is right and it is from a very clear point in time and reflect more what they want others to see the ideals they posses
lol - anyway you get the idea - i may be a nightmare for you - thought i'd warn you - stay safe and happy doing what you love
Is there any players out there interested in Scifi or Spelljammer game
If there is drop a note and we can discuss it on discord

Not to late at all trying to build up some kind of numbers here, the silence with regard to interest in Sci-Fi elements has been deafening
I have ideas but I want people ideally who can add to the party (champagne and caviar would be preferred)
Discord is a good idea ping me on discord LostDescartes#8552
