Hey, i'm new to DnD and was wondering if I could join someone to learn the ropes.

Experience: Newish to online (Currently playing LMoP on Sundays via Roll20). Experienced RPer, played many systems over my life, including D&D 3.5 for a long stint. Newish to 5th ed, but have watched games for a while and will be fine with occasional questions.
Location/Timezone: UTC/GMT -5. East Coast US.
Availability: Afternoon and evenings. I work retail so can be unpredictable, but my work hours are mostly stable for now and the next month. I also usually know my schedule 3 weeks in advance. Except for pick up shifts.
Preferred role: Player. I like playing roles I haven't tried before, but also don't mind playing the same role - basically I try to optimize the party, play what it needs if my character idea/role has already been taken.
Game style: Casual player, I like a mix of roleplay and combat.

I am looking to play from 1st level up in anything, though see below for preferred games.

I am interested in playing The Curse of Strahd, as well as the introductory adventures found in the essentials set, starting with The Dragon of Icespire Peak.

I have a standard license for Fantasy Grounds Unity, a copy of Tabletop Simulator, and a free account on Roll20.
