Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: Current players range from completely new to somewhat experienced. Location/Timezone: DM is US Pacific time zone; players can be anywhere Schedule: Tuesdays at 5:30pm US Pacific time; sessions are usually 2.5-3 hours. Roles sought: One player to join three full-time players and one part-time player. Game style: There are beginning players in this game who need a bit more time with the mechanics and decisions but still take playing their characters seriously. Beginning players are welcome; more experienced players are also welcome, just be beginner-friendly. All players try to act in-character; not all players get involved in character-based side scenes, but that type of scene is not ruled out.
Our campaign is looking for one more player to round out the party after another player had to leave. We are an all-ages, beginner-friendly, LGBTQ+-inclusive group playing once a week. We are running Lost Mine of Phandelver and Dragon of Icespire Peak simultaneously, with some additional side plots. Players already familiar with one or both of the published campaigns we're using will effectively be pre-spoiled, but if you don't mind that then you're still welcome to join.
We use D&D Beyond, roll20, Zulip and Jitsi (all web-based; Jitsi does not require an account or login) for in-game and between-game communication.
If you may be interested: Please send me a message (instead of posting a reply here -- keep the public replies for questions) with a character concept including a backstory (1-2 paragraphs at least). Our campaign is set in a flexible interpretation of the Forgotten Realms setting, in the North Sword Coast region. There are additional campaign details that we can use to incorporate your character into the story before your first session. Player characters should be of good or neutral alignment; the adventure will be generally "heroic", but a character who pursues heroic adventures out of self-interest or (even better) due to convoluted backstory- and character-driven motives would also fit.
In terms of game mechanics -- please consider a full caster class; bard or wizard would be particularly welcome, though having a strong character concept is more important. The party currently has a paladin, cleric and rogue, along with an arcane caster who is able to make about two-thirds of the sessions (and runs "side missions" in between). Available classes and races include anything from the Player's Handbook, Volo's Guide to Monsters, Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide, and Xanathar's Guide to Everything. The Artificer class is also available, but only if your character has a significant connection to Lantan (either being from there or having learned from someone who was). The character will fit into the Forgotten Realms-based setting, but if you're not familiar with FR feel free to keep your backstory geographically generic and we can adjust the details to fit.
Hey! I'm looking to play an Aasimar Cleric specifically, though I see you guys already have a cleric. Are you opposed to adding a second? I have a particular idea for my gal that might allow for there to be minimal overlap with your current cleric, but I totally understand if you don't want that redundancy! :)
