Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online (Discord for chat, DnDBeyond for character sheets, Roll20 or other VTT a plus, but not required). Experience: We are relatively new players that have played a few campaigns, but are looking for an experienced DM to help us get more into role playing. Location/Timezone: PDT Schedule: 7:00 pm Tues. or Thurs. or Anytime Sat. or Sun. Roles sought:DM (2 players currently, more players are welcome, but we wanted to secure a DM first). Game style: Casual group looking for a 50/50 mix of combat and role play. We have experience with the combat side of DnD and are looking to expand on role playing. We are looking for a DM who can make Descent Into Avernus their own and incorporate our backstories into the plot.
Current Characters:
Twin brother Paladins (2 players, one playing each brother), Stroln (Fallen Aasimar) & Zohar (Protector Aasimar) Erobring (Yin-Yang dynamic, one dark and aggressive, and one light and restrained).
Backstory:
Stroln and Zohar, twin Aasimar, were born into a Wealthy family in Waterdeep. Growing up, Stroln, whose appearance is more blatantly Aasimar appearance, suffered the stares and prejudices of the humans that surrounded him, while Zohar, whose appearance was more human-like, did not. This caused a darkness to grow in Stroln that did not develop in Zohar. At the age of 5, after attending a play with their parents, a thief accosted their parents in an alleyway behind the theatre. The thief demanded their mother’s pearl necklace, a treasured family heirloom, or he’d stab them. Their father immediately threw himself at the thief in defense of his family and was mortally wounded. The thief grabbed for their mother’s pearls, and in the ensuing struggle their mother was stabbed. As she fell to the ground, the thief’s grasp on her pearls caused the necklace to break, scattering the pearls to the ground around the young Stroln and Zohar, who stood, watching, as their parents were murdered. The thief disappeared into the night, never to be seen again. The twins were taken in by the Church of Lathander, as their parents had been substantial patrons of the church. At the age of 14, Stroln and Zohar left the church to become squires in the Order of the Aster, and by age 20,.they had each earned the title of Paladin of the Order of the Aster. The Order recognized Stroln’s talents for deception early and assigned him in for service as an agent of the Order, frequently being placed undercover within groups that the church wants investigated, while Zohar’s, by-the-book metaility was recognized as more suited to manned the walls and gates of Waterdeep as part of the City Guard.
An agent of the Order of the Aster was placed in Baldur’s Gate to investigate potential political corruption attempting to influence the local Church Lathander. They sent a missive mentioning the corruption was deeper than politics alone. A demonic influence was taking hold in the city. The agent was going to send another missive as soon as they had more information. The agent was never heard from again. Presumed missing, Stroln was dispatched by the Order of the Aster to investigate the disappearance of the agent. The plan was to infiltrate any organizations the agent may have had dealings with. Stroln would infiltrate the Guild to gather information from within the criminal underbelly of the city while Zohar, who the Order used its influence to place in the Watch of Baldur’s Gate, would gather information from within it’s bureaucracy. Their investigation eventually culminates in “The Dark Secret”.
Hey I saw that this was a few weeks ago, I don't know if you are still looking for a DM but I am willing to talk as I had adapted already the Decent into Avernus for a prior group. Let me know if you are still intrested but I hope you have a good day.
