We are a newly formed group of mixed experience (21+) looking to add a fifth player. We are one session into Lost Mine of Phandelver and only ask that you haven’t run LMoP before.
The group is very enthusiastic and enjoys a mix of RP and combat. We play on Roll20 with Discord for audio. The party would love it if your new character would bring some form of healing to the party. Since this campaign is new player friendly we are keeping to the core classes and races in the PHB (some minor exceptions may be permitted).
Players are asked to contribute $10 to the campaign to show a level of commitment to the group and time slot. We are hoping to continue past LMoP.
If interested, please post below with: Experience with 5e: Experience with Roll20 and Discord: Confirmation of availability on Friday @ 10AM (GMT-4): Willingness to pay $10: Possible idea for character:
Wow! I'm paying $20/month to play with another group.
$10 for 60 hours of entertainment sounds really reasonable to me...but to each their own. In my life I've found that making even a nominal financial commitment makes a difference in peoples expectations and willingness to commit to something. That may not be the case for all. Heck, I spent $100 just to get this campaign set up, asking players to contribute a fraction of that doesn't sound unreasonable to me. Peace.
I'm sure that everyone is glad that you have more than enough games to join that cost you nothing.
For anyone else, who feels that making a minor commitment to have a quality, regular game with committed players is worth it to you, feel free to bypass these trolls and DM me directly. I'd be happy to talk with you further about our group and plans for the future.
Experience with 5e: Decently experienced at this point! I play a regular campaign on Mondays for a few months now and played sporadically before that. New classes can take a bit of figuring out, but I think that's probably true for all of us! Experience with Roll20 and Discord: Yep, I use them both. Admittedly, I'm not super well-versed in Roll20 but I know enough/am a quick learner. Confirmation of availability on Friday @ 10AM (GMT-4): I'm free! Willingness to pay $10: It sounds like this is just a one-time payment, which I'm totally fine with. I might ask for a session 0 or at least some voice chat before deciding for sure that your group is the right fit for me, though! Possible idea for character: Depends on the group dynamic! I'm really flexible. I'm the type that likes to fill a group out. I've been roleplaying for 10+ years so I have a plethora of old characters I could theoretically revamp, or come up with something on the spot. I have a Paladin that recently lost his campaign (DM called it off for personal reasons), so it would be nice for him to get to use. Fair warning there that I'm not yet used to playing a Paladin, though haha. Personality-wise he is pretty stoic. A young priest-in-training at a temple of Pelor, though details could certainly be changed to fit the narrative. If that doesn't sound like a good fit, but you're interested in talking more, feel free to message back or hit me up on Discord.
Paying really isn't a big deal, especially when the DM has bought everything to share. He's a great DM and its a pretty decent group that is active on discord and very committed to playing.
Really don't understand the objections to making a one time $10 payment for a DM, they invest a lot of time and money in amassing the resources with which they provide entertainment for us. There are very few forms of guided entertainment which you can take part in for free and this is great value when you consider many DM's ask for weekly session fees.
I can definitely recommend this group, It's friendly, fun and sociable.
Okay, but's that's how scams start. There not paying for a professional or a skilled dm, there paying for some rondos to play with, who could easily just run of with their money. Your ridiculous
This has to be the strangest thread on here. With all the different DM's charging per-session fees and the groups looking to pay DM's on here I'm baffled as to why you are posting on my thread? Utterly bizarre.
Experience with 5e: Watched a lot of hours of 5e, played a few sessions online. Experience with Roll20 and Discord: Few sessions, familiar with the platforms as a player. Confirmation of availability on Friday @ 10AM (GMT-4): Available from starting time for a few hours. Willingness to pay $10: I will need some form of trial session to know if the game is to my tastes before committing to the game. Possible idea for character: I have a paladin from a previous campaign that was called off. I'm also interested in playing a druid, bard or cleric. I have no problems playing a healer.

paying anything to play DnD is a joke, just don't do it
Paying anything to get your oil changed is a joke. Just don't do it.
Paying anything to get your lawn mowed is a joke. Just don't do it.
Paying anything to play a computer game is a joke. Just don't do it.
We can all decide what is worth our money and what isn't. If it's worth it to you to pay, great. If not. Don't.
yes and its never worth it to pay someone to dm
