Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online Experience: Veteran (30 years experience) Location/Timezone: PST Availability: Mon, Tue, Wed Thur 11am Preferred role: Player Game style: I can get into deep role-play as well as hack-n-slash. Equally comfortable making characters limited to PHB rules, or min-maxing highly multiclassed characters across a number of expansion books. I was once known amongst my friends as "The Book" for being able to quote almost any rule verbatim and even point out it's location in the rulebooks with reasonable accuracy. That was 3.5. I skipped 4 because........... well, I'll just be kind and leave it at that. I do not consider myself a "rules lawyer" in a malicious sense, and I always respect my DM's rulings, but I think the rules have been play tested and balanced for a reason, and if my party's 9th level wizard is casting her third 5th level spell, I'm going to question it. Respectfully. I'd prefer to find an ongoing campaign that starts at 1st level, meets weekly, and progresses fairly rapidly (1 level every 1-2 sessions)
I am willing to DM, but my time is limited so players need to be ok with me improvising a lot, which sometimes means inconsistencies or mistakes. I would love to play or DM in an "Ocean's 11" style campaign where we are all con-women and con-men, heavy on skill challenges, deception, persuasion, acting, disguise, forgery, surveillance, etc. But I also like straight up dungeon diving.
Anyway blah blah. Thanks for reading, I'm happy to help new players by mentoring them, or help new DMs by keeping rules straight
