Hi everyone, I have a PBP (play-by-post) group that's currently looking for players. We have several members already, but our group is a Westmarches-style of game. What is Westmarches? Instead of traditional d&d, a Westmarches-style game is more on your time. It is mainly rp, and the DMs (there are more than one to accommodate for the extra players) run sessions intermittently throughout the week-ending up with one or two sessions a week, depending on player and DM schedules. Role play is 24/7 and there are dozens of NPCs and PCs for your character to interact with throughout the day/night. The world is completely homebrew. Our server is growing more and more every day, due to the interactions of our players with the world. We have had active playing for over a year now! Players level individually, based on how many sessions they join. However, there is a minimum level in the server (two levels below the highest level player) so that no one gets too far behind. It's no fun to get murdered immediately because you started later.
We have decided to become an 18+ server due to some of the more mature content we put out. We are not a smut server, but there are some heavier storylines and innuendos that make it so we don't feel comfortable allowing people under 18 in. Thank you for your understanding.

Your experience playing D&D: I routinely DM and have rarely been a Player. I enjoy Homebrew, have helped with No Magic and God Slaying campaigns.
Your favored race: It honestly does not matter much to me. I prefer whatever race catches my fancy at the time.
Your favored class: I prefer to play as classes that don't show up much, and to play them in unorthodox ways.
I enjoy when my DM…: Plays to the strengths of the game, and is flexible mechanically when the situation has poor ruling.
I dislike when my DM…: Railroads into story walls, has incredibly unbalanced encounters, introduces DMPC's who have everything the players could never have, and spent too much time worrying about everything but running the game.
Anything else you find important to mention: I'm flexible myself. I do tend to be more honest than I'd need to when talking about DMing, but I feel everyone needs to know what they are doing wrong- Myself included.

Your experience playing D&D: I've played since my mom's ex introduced me when I was 11 or 12. I am 20 now. I haven't played much until Freshman year in highschool. But i went to homeschool shortly after going to highschool.... and started hosting online 5e in early 2018 as a DM. I haven't been a player in years and have never been a player in a serious campaign. I'm busy these days with work and preparing for school, which is why i want to join a PBP.
Your favored race: Depends. I like a lot, but i have an idea I REALLY want to do with a Warforged. PREFERABLY Warforged Juggernaut from UA but i'm fine with the new eberron one.
Your favored class: This also depends, but Paladin's cool!.
I enjoy when my DM… Uses my backstory as a hook for certain things for my character. I've always felt that PBP is a good way to have 1 on 1 time with a dm and a player to really explore a solo character's goals without his party of merry men with him. I enjoy when there's a reason for certain things, and i enjoy when combat is more than just "Oh these things are mad because X reason and are unavoidable and will not even consider talking." (basically, when combat is more than beating the hell out of eachother, it's great.)
I dislike when my DM… Railroads. I hate railroading. Also hate favortism. And this goes to a group as a whole - I REALLY dislike it when people bring their kinks and sexual things into D&D. Also hate when a character idea is flat-out rejected instead of an attempt to at least make it fit into the setting.

About: first time playing dnd/rpg. i figure playing with an experienced group would be a good way to learn
Character Concept: an Ent or earth elemental sorta thing or a transfigured druid if Ents and things aren't allowed.
My character is made primarily of vines and other tube looking plant parts with grey tree bark roughly mimicking human muscle anatomy. He has no gender as he's a plant but goes by male terms due to his human male body shape. he's quite lean and lithe being nearly seven feet tall(max height unknown),
which makes him very fast as he predominantly relies on speed and his ability to extend and retract his vines into whips and or tentacles like appendages or harden them into blades. He's quite cheerful with a happy but protective demeanor, he's called Pekoe because his vines bloom with orange pekoe flowers.
I've played D&D here and there. It's very hard to find a real group in public. I played at malls, friends houses etc. But it winds up people not showing up again due to lack of motivation.
I dont mind playing any race and all have their own quirks for themselves just like the classes. In every game I've played I try different things everytime which helps me learn more all around.
I like when my DM is creative and rolls with the answer the players come up with. I dont mind if there is an A and B script but if there is an unpredictable character personality that came up with plan K and GM not only allows it but comes up with on the spot fun consequences weather good or bad to counteract that. It gives the player a reward of being heard and more invested. Now I know not everytime we can do that do to the circumstances but I know some DMs are only to their script and nothing else regardless if it makes since to the players character personality to do.
I dont like a DM that shuts down people, interrupts them or bosses others around. Nowt just DMs but players too. Certain players purposely go against rest of group just to defy in bitter way or get everyone killed by being salty. I dont like those type of runs, no one is happy and it kills the fun experience.
Old d&d veteran (mostly 3.5, Pathfinder and others) looking for a regular game, available afternoons & weekends (GMT).
Favourite Race: All are pretty awesome in thier own right, though recently loved playing a series of dwarf brothers.
Favourite Class: Same with races, all have thier quirks and can be built a multitude of ways into interesting, fun characters. In 3.5 my favourite was a barbarian/ranger cross, though in 5e I've really only played clerics (Tempest, Forge and War).
I love it when the DM... DMs. Every DM is as into this wonderful game as us players, so all I could wish for is one that changes it up from time to time and adapts to players' actions, and balances RP and combat equally - otherwise I'm humbled just to be at the table (or laptop).
I hate it when the DM... railroads and/or death-traps the party just for lolz. A deserved TPK is fair enough, but a random one or unwinnable fight is just disrespectful and sours D&D. Also, talking over or not discussing things with players, or allowing players to overrun or murderhobo a good narrative (though that's more a player problem).
Easygoing, mature, love shenanigans. Happy to play just about any race/class as needed; I've a stable of characters I'm itching to playtest and explore. Cheers.

Anything else you'd like to mention: I am very into roleplaying and I like a decent mix of homebrew and base rules. I have a very inconsistent work schedule and I am a 23F. Kinda shy, not gonna lie, so asking questions is hard sometimes.

Your favored race: I am usually good with any race, but I have a particular fondness for a water genasi I played. I love challenging myself to try new things and immerse myself.
Your favored class: I am a flexible character but I am not fond of artificer or ranger. I absolutely love druids and hate that they removed the penalty for them wearing metal in 5e because it added so much to them as a whole. Though my water genasi was a barbarian and I have played plenty of fighters and clerics as well.
I enjoy when my DM… actually has a good focus on rp and can work on developing a story with their player, especially utilizing things such as backstory to add more depth to their story.
I dislike when my DM… focuses soley on combat and min/maxxing, or refuses to work with a player that struggles on occasion.
Anything else you find important to mention: I am a night owl and able to join for up to 10 hours a night sometimes. Even if not all the time is used, I still enjoy interacting with people. I am not always the best at voice, I have my bad days of improv, but I really enjoy text based. I can, however, do both. I also do not have access to the full roll20, as I am entirely on mobile.
