dit: thanks everyone we're closed for now to see how our current batch of challengers go!
Weekly game on roll20 and discord @ Friday 5pm CDT/6pm EDT/3pm PDT
Sup we're looking for some people for a Wildemount game. We're a roleplay heavy group who play in a world where NPCs have their own goals and lives independent of the PCs, and the world keeps moving even if a PC is not directly involved with it. The Dwendalian Empire and Kryn Dynasty are at open war, strings are being pulled in the shadows, and many a skeleton is coming out of the closet on both sides. What you, the players, decide to do with this is up to you!
Some highlights of the campaign so far: - a run in with a group of goblins sacrificing travelers to Desirat the Twilight Phoenix - be gay do crimes becoming more and more the guiding principle of the party - The Prayer Foundry of Hupperdook collapsing into the ground - a powerful drow graviturgist saying he serves Ikithon - The Hupperdook Bathhouse Running of the Nude - nearly falling off a waterfall and having to do the 6 hour climb again - exploding robot crabs and robot bee cameras - the wizard asked the smug elf bounty hunter NPC on a date and she said yes, they had a nice picnic
Quick mechanics notes, we will go over more during an interview: - current characters are a fire genasi rogue and a disguised drow wizard - no homebrew classes/subclasses/races, UA is unlikely to be approved - no evil PCs - we are level 4 - characters can permanently die
We use discord for voice and roll20 for the game, and players can do text role play in between sessions with each other or with NPCs. Characters use the Heroic Chronicle to help connect them with the world.
Please DM or post the following: - your timezone - age and pronouns (18+ only thanks) - are you able to play for five hours without issues - are you in any other games at the moment - your experience with Critical Role and the setting of Exandria - two character concepts
3. depends on the day but usually, yes. (can easily do 5 hours straight on Fridays
4. I'm in a Thursday/Monday Hombrew game
5. I'm completely caught up with Campaign 2, just hit the Briarwood arc of C1
6. I have multiple character concepts available. Personally I'd prefer to talk about them in private and once i have more info on where the campaign currently is at story and setting wise, so my character concept doesn't end up making 0 sense. (Feel free to DM me about these specifically)
2. 19, almost 20. They/them or he/him either works prefer they.
3.i could totally do 5 hours straight.
4.im in a game on tuesdays ,saturdays and wednesdays
5. I have a decent experience with campaign 2, I watched up until late episode 30’s and watched many clips from later episodes but kinda fell off, Kimda burnt myself out and currently waiting to not be burnt out to catch up again
6. I have an old fire genasi bard I made for a campaign that crashed after sessions so I could use him and repurpose him to be a fire genasi cleric! Also got a warforged druid I’ve been meaning to spice up a bit more and try out!
3. I would love to play 5 hours straight! It just depends on what day we would be playing
4. I'm not in any other games atm
5. I am currently on episode 95 of the 2nd campaign of critical role so I have a decent understanding of the Exandria setting. I haven't gotten a chance to start the first campaign though.
6. I have a warforged war cleric from a previous campaign that is currently level four as well as a dragonborn paladin I made a while back that could use some dusting off.
3. I can't get enough D&D so, 5 hours sounds great to me~
4. I am unfortunately not in any other games at the moment. The upside is the fact that my schedule is free for this.
5. I have watched all of Vox Machina, but have only gotten about 60ish episodes into the Mighty Nein.
6. First concept is a half-elf bard going through a racial identity crisis internally, while going through a wardrobe crisis externally as their Glamour bard powers manifest through dance and by how much skin is showing. Second concept is a half-orc barbarian who's ancestral guardian spirits take the form of his fallen clan members, usually as his doting and often berating grandma and crotchety grandpa.
- EDT - 28 He/him - Unless I get called in for overtime I can easily play for 5 or more hours - I run a month game with my friends but that meets on a wednesday - I am currently about a little over a third the way though the Mighty Nein - First concept would a high elf blood hunter order of the mutant/artificer alchemist, a mad chemist looking to create the ultimate elixir. Second would be a tiefling hexblade that acts more like a fighter than a spell caster.
- EST - 31 he/him - Yes - I DM a game for my girlfriends work friends. - 64 episodes into season 2. Listen on podcast during work commute, paused for quarantine - 1st - Goliath Tempest Cleric of the Storm Lord / Storm Sorcerer. Roleplay: Out to discover his true parents as he was abandoned as a child. His adoptive brother went missing right after the adoptive parents were murdered. Also out to find if he has been captured or if he is the killer. Combat wise : a up close and personal tank/healer/thunder and lightning caster. With magic flair to make all spells from sorc lightning or thunder themed. 2nd - Human Mutant Blood Hunter. Roleplay: Was so impressed with a blood hunter he saw as a child he sought out to become one himself. Is currently compiling an in depth manual of monsters which he seeks to sell. Occasionally stops to enter notes into this manual at very inopportune times. Combat: Really like the idea of using the formulae to enhance a regular human. Darkvision etc. but only with the potions.
- GMT +2 - 22 he/him - Yes, after 8 at workdays and any time at weekends - No, I don't have any other active game at the moment - All season 1 and 102 episodes of season 2. I'm familiar with the world - 1st Aasimar Battlemaster Fighter: STH-base guardian character with a longsword and shield, protection fighting style, and maneuvers like Goading Attack to be an effective frontline ''tank'' with decent CHA, persuasion and intimidation, low WIS and average INT. 2nd Half-Orc Gloom Stalker Ranger STH-base dual wield longsword character, average INT.
Please DM or post the following: - GMT+8/SGT - Sweet 18, He/him - Yes though sometimes I need to tend to my families' needs if they call me. It usually takes a couple of minutes so I don't imagine it'll be too disruptive. - Yes? Sorta I guess kinda falling apart at the moment but we'll see. - I'm currently on episode 55 (Yes I know I'm way behind). I've actually played Frozen Sick from Explorer's Guide to Wildemount. It was from Lvl 1-3 but I think I got a good grasp of the world. I've also a friend who shares the sourcebooks with a couple of us on D&D Beyond and I kinda read through most of 'em. - I apologize if I uh accidentally ramble on and make it long. Writing their stories gets me a little carried away :')
- I uh decided to add in long and short versions sorry. (You can ignore the long version if you don't have the time.) Didn't feel as though the short version gave out much info.
1st Character Concept
Name: Zafri Chosen
Class/Race: Human Fighter (Rogue multiclass if able), Echo Knight DEX based.
Short version: Once a proud citizen and soldier of the Krynn Dynasty, Zafri Chosen now reborn, seeks a way to permanently treat the illness that plagues him. Going as far as to sell Dynasty secrets to the highest bidder whether it be for cash or favors.
Very Long Version: Zafri, previously in his past lives served the Kryn Dynasty. Having gone through consecution and rising to Umavi, he was respected among his peers. During his previous cycle, he began showing signs of typhros. (Typhros: some souls that have undergone multiple cycles of the consecution are driven mad when their minds cannot reconcile the memories of many lifetimes.) Immediately, this gained the attention of his fellow Umavi. He pleaded to be given a chance, to prove he could still serve. One day, he along with a selected few were sent into the Dwendalian Empire to search for a Luxon Beacon or gather information about the whereabouts of a Luxon Beacon within the Empire’s borders without notifying the Empire about their operation. The plan fell through when one of them was captured and squealed about their operation and other secrets. After rescuing said captive and making it back to Xhorhas, they were apprehended and brought before their Empress for spilling the Dynasty’s secrets. They were each judged based on their actions. Ronan having both failed the mission and showing signs of typhros was removed from the dynasty. In a haze, he made his way into to Empire in an attempt to destroy those that new of the Dynasty’s objective and prove that he was still of use to them. He didn’t make it. Haste combined with recklessness proved to be his downfall. Darkness filled his vision followed by light. Next thing he knew, he had a new life. A human child, sired by two soldiers that were forced to retire due to injuries. As he grew older memories of his past came to him in forms of nightmares and visions. Without the assistance of the Umavi, Zafri found himself lost in memories that he knew nothing of. His parents contacted many professionals, ranging from alchemists to mages before they got a hold of a specially made concoction that managed to help Zafri. He was thankful that he was free but was warned that the concoction would only slow his illness down not stop it entirely. It also gave him a small amount of control when he tries to recall certain information from his past. Unsure of how his rebirth came to be and left with the memories of his past, he now uses the skills taught by his parents along with what little he gathers from his past to accumulate enough cash or favors to permanently treat his illness.
Seraphic went from living a privileged and exciting life with his parents who were archeologists by trade to being an agent to the Empire's most diabolical man, Trent Ikithon to being hunted down by the same colleagues he worked with. Seraphic is constantly on the run from the Cerberus Assembly. After refusing to kill a fellow agent he worked with often per his orders, he took to adventuring to survive outside of the Empire. But with his patron seeking a favor returned and Seraphic's need to get even with the ones that caused him so much pain, he can't help but return to Empire despite the obvious danger.
(Not gonna post Seraphic's long version cause that is most unfortunately longer)
- are you able to play for five hours without issues: absolutely!
- are you in any other games at the moment: no
- your experience with Critical Role and the setting of Exandria: I have watched the campaign through both versions and am quite obsessed to say the least. I have all of the books that correspond with the world as well.
- two character concepts: Valeria, Druid, Tiefling or Valeria, Elf, Cleric (working on backstories)
