Hello! I am a DM looking for players to play in my Curse of Strahd game. I already have 2 players ready, and am looking for 1-2 more.
Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: some experience is preferred, at least in RP if not in DnD itself Location/Timezone: GMT+7 Schedule: Friday/Saturday, 8 PM GMT+7 (aka 8 AM CST), approximately 3-4 hours. Sadly, this isn't exactly flexible. Roles sought: Player (1-2) Game style: RP heavy; expecting players who can really get into their character and roleplay it accordingly. Mechanically, rules will also be observed closely.
Additional requirements:
1. Doesn't mind playing a good character.
The way CoS is written, neutral or evil character just..... don't really drive the campaign forward. Development may and will occur, and there is a possibility of becoming corrupted, per se, but all in all I am looking someone who can play generally a good character. The character can be gruff, or a scatterbrain, or super lawful, as long as they are just, good.
2. Not affixed to alignment
I know, a bit weird after I said I wish for players with a good character. But I always hate alignment as a concept, haha. They do nothing to enhance a character concept; they box them in instead. I'd rather my players to have a character background written properly, and don't bother labelling them with alignment. Basically, your character can have a belief, and that belief should be the basis of your action. But alignment is descriptive, not prescriptive, and it's certainly not a fixed attribute but a malleable one.
3. Willing to properly write a background
Probably an 'uugh' requirement for some, but I want my campaign to be RP and story-driven, and (in my personal opinion) that requires a properly written background. It doesn't have to be long; just properly written and interesting.
4. Don't be a dick
Ok, this one goes without saying, but my last campaign had a That Guy who is a murderhobo and edgy loner and is just generally a dick. I am traumatized 😭. Generally, just don't be a dick, lol.
I.... think that is it? Can't wait to meet and start! Reply in this thread and/or send me a PM to join! You can also contact me at castor212#2645.
I am excited to join this game and the timing works perfectly with me. Can I join?I am still deciding which character to play as. Very excited as the timings works perfectly with me. I am new to roll 20 so I might require some help.
Hello, is there still room open for your game? I believe the time will work for me, I'm on CST. The only issue that might occur is on Saturday since I have work at 11am CST, but that's all. I have some experience with Roll20 and RPing.
I'm good with all your requirements i love writing backgrounds for my characters and my character I wanted to create is a lawful good halfling munk. I am available for your campaign times as well my discord is
Hi there! If you're still accepting players, I would like to join, please! I've been looking for a Curse of Strahd campaign that fit my schedule for a couple of weeks now. I like its gothic story, and, from what I've heard, it challenges players with difficult choices.
I enjoy role play a lot. I DM some campaigns myself, and I too prefer to avoid murder hobo campaigns. I agree with you that alignment is descriptive. I like to play based on what the character believes and values, rather than the one or two words I choose as an alignment. With that in mind, having a well-structured backstory helps me understand the character's motivations. Great for role play.
If you think I'll be a good fit, you can send me a DM on DDB, or on discord. My handle is Jamesrsound#8211

Hi, Mistral. If you are interested in joining, you can write a background (in googledocs preferably) complete with trait, bond, ideal, and flaw, and send it to me via discord (castor212#2645), and I'll check whether it is a fit for the cMpaign or not.
