So, recently our DM had IRL issues and decides to postpone the Waterdeep module, possibly canceling it outright. With nothing to play, I decided to make my own homebrew campaign. I got all the basic ideas done, so now I just need a DM, so I may polish it a bit and make some basic material. But allow me to tell you about the game.
In the continent of Iberria, a war is waging in the northeastern country of Lua. 5 confederacies, each owning 20% of the country, are locked in a stalemate with one another. A small group of warriors, and their leader named Mikaira, set out to one way or another break the stalemate and come out on top. Whether through diplomacy, brutality, or a mix of both, is up to them.
But in the background, various rumors are going around the 5 factions. Despite their differing origins, they all point to something called the wings of doom. Whether predicted by shamen, conspiracy theorists, beasts of intelligence, religious group, or men of darkness, powerful beings are ever approaching. Whether they are friend or foe, we don’t know. Whether they come at all is debatable. Nevertheless, the rumors are there. Whether they become true is only answerable through time and patience.
And that's the basic idea for the campaign. I plan for this to be more player-driven as to what actually happens. I just need to a make sure there are some things premade for whatever the players decide. I also need someone who can DM for me, as A) I'm still new to the game B) that's cheating C) it's added stress D) I'm Rping 2 characters at once E) I'd rather someone somewhat experienced do it. So, I'm asking if there's any DMs willing to join my group. It's me and 4 other people, so I already got all my characters and players.
We do DnD every Wednesday at 9:30pm EST. We do DnD on roll 20 and communicate on discord. If you are interested DM me, and we'll talk.
I am sorry but this is completely horrible. Utterly ridiculous...
"I made up this basic idea for a world but dont want to actually put in the effort to make it a playable game myself. I say how its supposed to be and you make it happen for me."
When I read this every single alarmbell in my head went off to never DM anything like this. And your reasons for not running it yourself are also just excuses. You are new to the game? Well so what? We all start somewhere. Its cheating? I cant even put in to words how ridiculous this is. First of all, if you are so incapable of stoping yourself from cheating, I dont even know what to tell you. Second of all, if you are already DMing you should not play as a PC so there should not even be a discussion about cheating. Its added stress? r/selfawarewolves. And you are already playing 2 chars? Another big red flag for me. And wanting someone expirienced to do it? Well honestly all I can tell you is that in this case, is to actually pay a professional DM but I dont think even one of those will touch this with a 10foot pole.
I know this sounds rude but your post really makes me want to pull my hair out. The entitlement is just so infuriating.
Where exactly are getting the "entitlement" from. Not once in my post did I suggest that I was ever owed anything. If anything, I was being down to earth by show casing that I'm not the most experienced and would rather defer to someone who knows the ropes better so I can play with my players. It's called not spreading yourself thin and putting DMing in someone more capable.
And yes, I do consider dming while playing a main character a little bit of cheating. You might feel differently, and that's fine. But I don't feel the same, so excuse me for thinking otherwise. It has nothing to do with self control, just personal feelings on a matter
Also I wanted someone to bounce ideas off of. There's only so much that I can do on my own and the players rather not be spoiled too much. So I was trying to be transparent and say "hey, I know where I want to go, but I need a second opinion. What do you think DM?" If that's entitlement, then sorry for being transparent about wanting outside opinion.
Your post was just insulting, uncalled for, and downright paranoid. You either belittle me for my lack of experience, offered nothing helpful, and took multiple things out of context. I'd almost say it was on purpose, but I won't be that guy. I can understand if the story was unattractive or maybe you don't want inexperienced players, but this was un called for, if not comical

Valkorion is 100% right tho, i don't see why one would run this
Travel is part of the journey
I would run it for the right amount of money.
