I'm a member of a homebrew game and unfortunately Our 7th had to drop out and we are looking for a player to replace them. (I am not the DM, but our DM will contact anyone selected).
We are 3 months into our campaign and we officially meet weekly for sessions on mondays at 7 Est, though we spend a lot of time in the group chat out of session chatting. Our group is very chaotic good leaning with a 70/30 story-leaning play style (backstory is relevant!). The whole party is currently 8th level and consists of a water genasi-swashbuckler rogue, a drow pheonix socerer, an aasimar light cleric, a Half-Elf Fey wanderer Ranger, a ravenite conquest paladin, and a tiefling conjuration wizard.
Our Campaign setting is high fantasy, in a world on the beginning of an out breaking war against a mysterious force collecting objects of immense evil.
We are looking for 18+ players, current player ages range from 18-28, players with some experience preferred, but new players are welcome and our group is more than willing to help teach new players the ropes. We use dischord for voice and roll20 for maps and video, both of which we can teach anyone unfamiliar with the algorithms.

Name/nickname: Age: Time Zone: How long have you been playing D&D 5e: Discord ID: Character concept (Race/class/subclass): Favorite Experience as a player: Something You've never done before in game but would like to experience:
How long have I played dnd: I started playing 5e almost 2 years ago when I started a group at college. Since middle school I have played AD&D, then went to pathfinder and 3.5. I have almost a decade of dnd experience.
Discord ID: Kayla the Sweetheart#6502
Character concept: Either the lizardfolk chef I mention below. They use bits of their enemies for weapons, tools, armor, and food. Very flexible on class between druid, fighter, rogue, or ranger. I can come up with more of a connected backstory once I know more of your dm's world and what the plot is. The one sentence description for this idea is, lizardfolk of a swamp who left to find better ingredients.
If you want a more thought out and non cannibalistic character, a hobgoblin order cleric 1-3/artificer 5-7(Battlesmith or armorer). He was once a commander in a military (either hobgoblin legion or a nations military depending on world). After losing a battle and growing old, he left the army and began to wander before running into (insert plot point or reason to join the party). He is a honorable and wise soldier who tries to protect others.
Favorite experiences as a player: It is a coin toss between my druid slowly falling for our groups artificer and their relationship or my lizardfolk chef. It was a slow and really fun relationship that took us a long time to get anywhere with. From her freaking out about not being able to save him from becoming a wererat, to her saving him and getting saved and their small interactions there, to him kissing her as he charged towards a dragon, and then all of their interactions after becoming SO's.
On a very different style, my lizardfolk chef was a riot to play. Unfortunately the campaign ended after 1 session due to scheduling conflicts. The best experience was him sneaking into a camp with humans and kobolds. He then convinced the kobolds to rise up against the softskins, then they could eat the chicken the humans were cooking and not take their orders. The kobolds then killed the humans and Vutha invited the rest of the party to come join them around the campfire and enjoy some human that he was cooking. Vutha would cook/eat/make tools/weapons/armor out of all of their enemies and never let anything go to waste. Playing someone with such a different mentality from me was interesting. Lizardfolk tend to not have emotions as we do so that was fun to RP.
Something I haven't done before but want to experience: Interesting question... I would have to say the most exciting thing to me is playing a set of levels I haven't played much of before. I have played a number of low to mid level games and some high level 1 shots, but levle 8 is the highest a campaign of mine has gotten. I would love to explore your dm's world, I haven't gotten to experience that many non-module games in 5e. Getting to see more of the world sounds really cool.

But getting to higher level content would be really cool. Most groups fizzle at like12
Name/nickname: Ty Age: 18 Time Zone: EST How long have you been playing D&D 5e: I think I started around august of last year. It's coming close to a whole year, but most of the year I've played more than once a week. Discord ID: Ty#0777 Character concept (Race/class/subclass): Alright this might sound a bit silly. I had an idea of making a Tabaxi with dwarfism so I can be specifically 3-4 feet tall. Currently the class is a toss up between a barbarian (simply because a 3 foot cat running in being too angry to die is just hilarious to me) or I would be a drunken master monk.
A serious character I've been hoping to start at level 7 or higher was a Human variant Samurai fighter/Hexblade multiclass. I thought about having this character be blind so I could take the blind fighting style from U.A. I wouldn't mind taking some suggestions on the feats. Since this is a serious character I would love to come up with a cool special side quest or background story regarding my Patron.
Favorite Experience as a player: I played a Tortle (with no shell as a bit of homebrew) four elements remastered monk. There were two instances that take the cake. Making the character I unintentionally managed to get myself a whopping 36 foot vertical leap after a running 10 feet start due to some four elements remastered ki spells. Any chance I get I would jump as high as possible just because I could haha I would even challenge people to jumping contests. One time my buddy walked up in character and asked if I could jump for a vantage point, In character I said "you want me to jump you don't even know how far I ca-" and I ran up the nearest tree and jumped off of it for extra height and got advantage on my perception check to see two giant crabs ramming down trees on their way to start a fight with us, I raged on the way down to take half damage with a cool super hero landing. The other favorite experience would be when I first got introduced there was a fight near a boat (which I was on) and my girlfriend who was a rogue got downed in the fight and I immediately ran over and rolled a Nat 20 on the medicine check and this little 4 foot Tortle with no shell is hovering over her saying "my queen I have saved your life, in return a kiss." The whole group started laughing and honestly it was just hilarious for us all.
Something You've never done before in game but would like to experience: Most campaigns throughout this year have always been cut short either due to personal reasons for the DM or players dropping and not having time to play which is totally cool it happens. I have always loved the idea of having fun boss battles or experiencing the climax of the story or dungeon. Otherwise, I really enjoy the idea of inter-dimensional travel.
Side note: I know you guys are looking for more of a story oriented player, My experiences and character ideas are a bit silly, but I'm definitely looking for a change of pace. Something like my Hexblade samurai.
