Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: Any Location/Timezone: EST Schedule: Wednesdays 1-6pm EST Roles sought: 4-6 players Game style: Narrative-focused story with heavy roleplay and combat where appropriate.
Hello! I'm Stranger, DM of the Deck of Many Queers (@deckofqueers on Twitter) and I'man idiotlooking to start up another campaign!
Before we begin, let's get some minimum requirements out of the way:
You must be 18+
The Deck of Many Queers is an LGBTQIA+ community. You must be a member of our community or an ally.
You must be able to dedicate to the timeslot (Wednesdays 1-6pm EST). If there is any chance of a change in your schedule in the relative future that might make you unable to stick with the game, please do not apply.
You must have the following technologies: a reliable internet connection, a good quality headset/mic setup, Discord, access to Roll20, and a DND Beyond account.
You must be willing to be recorded and be part of a podcast project. There is no guarantee, but it is a possibility that I will turn this campaign into a podcast (... in addition to the one I'm already doing, yes).
Now that that's out of the way, let me tell you a little bit about myself! I'm a 20something female DM (she/any) with a couple of years of experience in 5e both as a player and as a DM - but don't let my newness dissuade you; in my DMing experience, I have already run to completion a 100-session campaign that reached level 20. I am an avid worldbuilder and have been writing on and off for 20 years now.
Alright, enough about me. Let's talk about you. You are a mature legal adult of 18+ who is part of the LGBTQIA+ community or an ally. You reliably have Wednesdays available during the hours of 1-6pm EST, regardless of your own timezone. Ideally, you find great enjoyment in roleplay, and are excited to get into making your character and building them as part of a living, breathing world. You thrive when given opportunities to really get in character. You enjoy sinking your teeth into the lore of a homebrew world and, ideally, are willing to contribute to that world by making impactful choices that may alter and shape it for years to come.
Okay, enough about us. You probably want to hear more about the campaign! This campaign will be set in my homebrew multiverse which I have spent years developing, even before I knew I'd one day use it for D&D. Specifically, this story is set on the world of Theosia, in the Prime Meridian plane - a twin to the Prime Material. It will be set in the 29th Age - an age of modern marvels of magitech wonder. Complete with magically-fueled cars and phones that function off of liquid memory, this world will feel utterly alien compared to that of a common D&D game.
The premise is this:
Strange bursts of magic have been surging all across Theosia. While that in and of itself is not altogether the strangest thing, the exact nature of these magical phenomena has yet to be discerned by leading experts, leading to mass confusion. Normally, scholars could determine the causes and effects of such happenings, but not so in these cases. As such, imagine the confusion when one of these surges of magic caused people to appear - and not just any people, but people claiming to be from a time in the distant past! Now, the Great Cities of Theosia have come together to form an international committee, called the Transchronological Examination and Rectification Assembly - or TERA - which is in charge of locating, tracking, and studying these occurrences, as well as figuring out how to deal with any of the unfortunate side effects of these bursts, such as confused civilians from bygone days.
And you? Well, you're their newest hire.
Some final details. This game begins at level 10. We will be playing every Wednesday from 1-6pm EST. I am looking to begin this game on September 23rd, but there is a chance it may get pushed back by a week or two, so please be patient. As long as this post is not marked "CLOSED" then I am still accepting applications. Please direct any questions to the Comments section where others may view the answers. Judging by past experiences, I will not have time to reply to every single application - my apologies.

Hey I would be interested in playing however I am currently on my phone only (had an incident causing my laptop to break) I have a few characters in mind that I would like to try to play. I do have a few questions the main one being what level does the game start at I have 2 unique characters I'd like to try out
I would like to play. I need to know where on the east coast you are so I can check the time difference to make sure I am able to play. I am located in Brisbane Australia and I am a bisexual male 48 years old have played DND before but not online. I have some characters ready to go can play most types of character so can fill any voids if required. It all just depends on the time difference. My discord is spike72#3261
i look forward to hearing from you.
