Literal Noob Finding Patient Campaign

My friend just recently got me interested into finally playing a campaign of D&D. I created my character yesterday and am still tweaking, but i'd much enjoy starting or joining a current campaign if anyone is willing to teach me the ropes and help me figure it out. I can do pretty much anytime on Tuesdays and Thursdays, not on the weekends due to work, and the rest of the days depends on the time (CST), preferably evenings. My character is a Female Half-Elf Ranger lvl 1, if that makes it easier to decide with others in the campaign.
