I am the DM for an RP heavy homebrew campaign. We currently have 4 players and are looking to expand to 6 players. We are looking for players who are looking to tell a story, not "win the game". This is a very RP heavy campaign so we are looking for people who can stay in character, story tell, stick to their character's personality in dialogue and combat, and refrain from meta-gaming. RP heavy does not mean that there is seldom combat, running roughly 50/50 combat/dialogue.
We currently play @5:30pm Central time every Sunday evening. Sessions have been running around 4 hours, but budget up to 5 in case of overtime. We play through Discord using Beyond20 integration. You do not have to know how to use this already, you just have to make a character through DnDBeyond and have Discord and a microphone.
The original advert for the campaign: Welcome to Eldathia, the breadbasket of the world. Before, only a humble farming village, over the past 1000yrs Eldathia has leveraged its location's unnaturally successful harvest seasons to become a major hub of agricultural supply for the central region. Not all growth is good though as the City of Grains' newfound influence and wealth has attracted many unwanted groups who look to use its wealth for their own benefit. The will of gods and men collide as our adventurers are swept into conflicts new and old, of this city and beyond.
All applications for a class the party already has will be thrown out and not considered. The current party already has an Artificer, Warlock, Barbarian, and Cleric.
If you are interested in applying you must reply to this thread or PM me on Discord (TCL#9944) with your character's race/background/class and write a little about your character's backstory.
Hello, I was looking for a group to fit into, and I think this would be a good fit. I love role-playing.
My character is an Aarakocra Hermit Rogue named Archie
Archie has lived a life of isolation, only stealing and killing when he needs to. He feels the need to flee a life of isolation and death and journey into a better life with other people, but he's not the most sociable person ever.
I am a new player, have not played a game myself but have ran a few sessions as I am working on a small home brew campaign for my family. I would like to play a game though to have a better understanding of it. As for my character she is a Tiefling Rogue (I know, super original) called Kaldani "Sharp Eye" Drachen with a Pirate Background.
Long story short she was raised by a savvy merchant, a good friend of her parents who took her in when they were killed in an accident on the high seas. When she became old enough she joined his crew, really a band of pirates part of a privateer order that backed each other up when the need to arose. (blah blah blah, can send you full details if you're interested) Her home was attacked by a captain who betrayed the order, destroying their home and ships, killing her captain and father figure, and almost dying herself in the attack. Now she is making her way in the world while also searching for the betrayer, hoping to exact her revenge for the death of her wonderful past.
If this character doesn't work I also have a human wizard, tabaxi monk, or an air genasi ranger
Hi, this sounds super cool and I would love to join! I have played a few oneshots, but am still relatively new if that matters. My character is Tex Wasabi, a half elf sorcerer with a criminal background. She lived in a small town and was in the military until her friend ran away from the military. She started working at the local pub instead, skilled at it because she had left school early and learned cooking and fighting instead, aiming to make the pub a famous destination. She wanted to do that because her town was devastated by an attack that coincided with a drought, leaving her town poor and hungry. She starting smuggling and other illegal activities from the back of her pub to help her town. She is searching for the secret ingredient for a family recipe, based on maps and stories left behind by family members, that she believes could make her pub rise to fame.
Backstory: Wukane comes from a monastery deep in the woods, where he trained his body and mind in the Way. Though he was at the top of his class in physicality, his intellect left much to be desired. Instead of studying, he'd often shirk his responsibilities and instead sneak out to party or hang out with the forest's wild life. In his frequent partying, Wukane had a tendency to get into fights in defense of others. When innocents and those too drunk to fight back were being preyed upon, he always found himself in the middle of it. This tendency has gotten him into more than a few scrapes with the law, but he's been able to avoid detection so far. One night, Wukane's (begrudging) sensei disappeared without a trace. Those around him acted as if he had never existed, which distressed Wukane immensely. No one else was willing to put up with his tomfoolery, leaving him only one option: leave. He left the monastery under the cover of night and never intended to go back.
Hi, I'm 20 years old and a relatively new player, but I love roleplaying and would love to join this campaign.
My character is a water gensai druid named Anje who has grown up isolated from others due to a fiend possessing her as a child. She was locked away by her parents in an attempt to both protect her and those around her from the spirit inside her, but Anje just recently managed to escape with the help of the fiend inside her, a creature who refers to herself as Morkaye. The fiend is still inside Anje, but now she tries to keep it locked away. She wanders mostly, in awe and wonder of the things and people she comes across as she is mostly ignorant of the world. She herself does her best to be good, but often the fiend will influence her or take over whether that be for something as simple as pickpocketing gold or something as serious as ensuring their survival through chaotic or even evil means. Her parents currently search for her.
Alignment: Neutral Good, when not being influenced by the spirit inside her
Background: Haunted one
Bond: I keep my thoughts and discoveries in a journal. My journal is my legacy.
Flaw: I talk to spirits no one else can see
Personality traits: I put not trust in divine beings, I expect danger around every corner
Ideals: I'm going to stop the spirits that haunt me or die trying
I also have a halfling rogue criminal character if you're more interested in having that type of character in your party
Hi, I tried to DM you on discord but you dont seem to receive messages from non friends. My discord is Erusean#3172. Anyway, I'm interested in joining and playing a Tiefling Sorcerer with (if possible) a homebrew background according to the PHB rules, or if it's not possible, either sage or anthropologist. he would be a scientist type who is very eccentric and interested in studying people and creature's behaviors.
Sky-Lynn Dra | Half-Drow | Fisher | Way of the Four Elements Monk
I’ve been following the river for a while now, chasing this massive fish! I think at least I have to wonder if it’s out there I mean that’s what mom and dad said at least. They try and send me out when the fish is super interesting so I hope so! Normally I don’t get to see them at home because of fishing adventures but only being able to go so far is pretty annoying. I’m not some dumb child, I’ve been doing fine on my own out here for years they don’t even know about the guy I beat up a few months ago. Someone, like he didn’t deserve to live for what he did wasn’t fishing it was the destruction a perfect fishing spot. Seeing someone like that opened my eyes to the idea that maybe some don’t hold these places in high regard like myself. I can only wonder sitting in my own sand so why not try and find someone who can share my vision with me.
Hi. I work every other Sunday but I’m usually available by 730p CST (give-or-take, as I’m an EMT and work might get in the way)...if I can enter the session late, that’d be much appreciated. Otherwise, my off Sunday will have to be my go-to day to play.
My character is a Variant Human, Chaotic Neutral (but leans more towards Good).
Customized Eldritch Knight. I slightly modified and rebalanced the PHB class features for flavor and in relation to my character’s aesthetic and backstory.
Outlander-ish background - I’m also a DM looking to actually level-up my main NPC (for personal achievement heh). He has a very detailed backstory...but I can simplify it and make it neutral enough for him to fit into any multiverse.
He’s an honorable warrior from a far away land that has dedicated himself to mastering his mana (or spirit magic) and earn prestige for his homeland/ancestors. He’s a loner and might be “rude and uncouth among civilized folk” but he knows the value of teamwork. He doesn’t lie...or doesn’t know how to lie because his culture doesn’t understand the concept of dishonesty - this doesn’t make him naive but rather untrusting of other’s intentions. He has a deathwish - this doesn’t mean he’ll throw his life away for just anything. That said, he’s not afraid to risk his life to achieve his mission - he welcomes a worthy challenge but isn’t foolish and won’t risk his allies for the opportunity. He has a deep reverence to the wild spirits of nature, the tempest elements, and especially dragons.
Hi there. I saw your ad and am interested in joining your campaign. I have discord and a microphone so good to go with that. I have a few characters in mind.
A tabaxi bard who grew up in slavery and often lies to try and make people like him. Depending on where your story is at, perhaps your party could rescue him. He is codependent on others and often tries too hard to make himself seem useful and helpful.
Another idea I have is a gnome wizard who grew up in a secluded gnomish community. He was the favorite child of his parents because of his arcane ability, but was loathed by his siblings who took out a hit on him. He has been on the run since than, avoiding his siblings and their revenge against him.
Hello I am very interested in this campaign I have several characters I could play including a naive and sheltered gnomish wizard (Outlander Background) who spent most of his time either in the forest around his village or in the tower of arcane books left behind by a wizard who used to live there he left his village and is trying to see the world for the first time, a changeling rogue conman (Charlatan Background) who's been on the run for the past 2 years because of a job he pulled on a noble that ended with him jumping out the window of the nobles bedroom after sleeping with his wife and stealing everything he could carry, and a Dragon born Bard who grew up on the streets (urchin Background) before being taken in by a traveling bard hes very boastful and flashy to hide the fact that he is in fact a coward. I'm willing to play any one of these or whatever else I've been playing D&D for the better part of 3 years and my background in theatre lends to heavier roleplay campaigns where I can really get Into character and help them grow and change
