I'm looking to get back into DnD for an online campaign. It's been about 2 years since I've last played but I have over a year's experience playing with a mix of Pathfinder 1 and 5e.
I enjoy the roleplaying, problem solving, and unique situations of DnD most. I prefer to play characters with fun quirks rather than meta for the biggest numbers and most kills.
Here are some character ideas I have been considering lately:
A nerdy and inquisitive high elf wizard with an unhealthy obsession with lightning and storm related spells. Not good for stealthy campaigns unless you want situational comedy.
A hillbilly human bard with a banjo who's not very good in a fight but knowledgeable about history, folklore, cooking, herbal remedies, and brewing.
An adversarial gnome fighter with questionable morals who brawls in street fights for money and can be very intimidating despite his height. He is quite clever and fights dirty.
A human warlock-rogue that suppresses his patron powers as they were inflicted on him involuntarily and they risk turning him into a monster each time he uses them.
An evil human or yuan-ti ranger who's more than intelligent enough to not act on his evil impulses, particularly his love of murder. He adventures as a way to vent his urges by killing monsters and likes using throwing knives.
A good half-orc cleric or fighter with a head deformity that gives him extra damage on headbutt attacks, so of course he uses it every chance he gets. Helmets don't fit him well, however.
My old group used Discord, Tabletop Simulator, and DnD Beyond, but I am willing to expand to other platforms. I am fine with joining a group of new players as I am rusty with the rules but an experienced group would be nice too.
Game: D&D 5e or Pathfinder Group preferred: Online Experience: a year Location/Timezone: EST Availability: Flexible Preferred role: Player Game style: roleplay, casual
