Game: D&D 5e - Rim of The Frostmaiden Group type: Online through Discord/Roll20 - Probably voice-only but can do video as well Experience: I have been Dming since 2018 - I love running a story and playing different characters but I am not a rules buff. Location/Timezone: Central Time - Minnesota Schedule: I have a very strict schedule being a father of 2 little ones - I am looking at Sunday evenings from 8pm to around 11pm weekly. Roles sought: I am looking for 4 players who can commit to my strict schedule. I work in education and I am super patient and friendly so I am super open to anyone new and happy to teach the game. I am not looking for min-maxers, I am looking for folks who just want to roll a character they like and deal with the horrors and triumphs of the story. Game style: I am looking to run the new book "Rim of the Frostmaiden" in a very casual way. My interest is to have fun seeing players uncover mysteries and getting to know each other. I want the game to be weekly but to be in short sessions. 3 hours max. The idea is to play often but in short bursts so we can keep the story fresh. While I am super cool with violence, good old bloodshed, and straight-up rudeness, I have zero tolerance for real-life racism, sexism, ableism, or **** jokes.
If this sounds interesting to you. Let me know below by describing your style of play and experience with the game! I would like to purchase the module to run this game so I would appreciate donations towards that. Even a couple of dollars are great to show commitment to the game.
Hi! My name’s Taylor and I have little experience actually playing, but have watched/listened to many campaigns on YouTube and I've fallen in love with the game. I'm more interested in the roleplaying aspect of the game, but I do enjoy combat as well. I have multiple characters at the ready to play depending on the party and the tone of the game. Below are very brief intros with just their race, class, and background.
Glad you are interested Taylor! Don't worry too much about characters, we will most likely do a character creation session where you can explore the options and backgrounds in the new book. But I love your options!
Hi Tidrick, at this point I am waiting to see how much interest is there from people and then I will schedule an initial chat session. If I have enough interest by tomorrow (friday) night - I might schedule a super initial session this Sunday (the 20th) evening.
Hi Ozzy- count me as interested. I've played a longer (2-3 years) campaign in 4e, but I haven't played for a few years now. Feel like getting back into it! I haven't played 5e yet, but I've watched some online campaigns in 5e and have read the PHB, so I have a reasonable idea of how things work.
I like a good mix of role play and combat- interested in exploring the setting (both social and wild), interacting with the players and environments, and some slashing and blasting as well. I think an session 0 is a great idea.
FYI, I'm on Pacific time, but 8-11 Central Time Sundays works fine.
I’m Linx or LinxTheLoyal #0113 on discord. My profession is teacher, so I can understand the parenting aspect of life and still wanting to game! The schedule you are suggesting fits my work ethic to a T. I also like the base rules you have set! I’m one for laughs but it comes to a point where it needs to stop and the story needs to continue.
I am very interested in playing this module. I’ve played DND for a few years and love the Ranger class. I’ve played both rule book and UA version. Sadly I did not purchase the book on dnd beyond :( but wouldn’t mind giving you a few bucks to help with the payment of the campaign. I can be a quiet gamer, but it’s in my nature to let others speak first then add my opinion. please message me if I were to make the cut or not!
Hello! Your schedule sounds perfect for a friend and I! We are also CST (Texas) and while we are familiar with the game, we only have a handful of homebrew sessions of experience between the two of us, though I have DM'ed a couple of tiny one-shots. We have characters ready to choose from but willing to explore the new availability! My discord is asanoyass#8479 and I'm always available to chat!
Editing to add that we are more than willing to chip in for the use of the module! We're rather flexible but agreed that function I very important haha. We love balance between RP and combat and want to be able to make decisions rather than being railroaded through a session. Character is important to us!
