I am looking for 2-3 players to take part in a long term (lvl50 cap) campaign. I'd like to be able to record and post the sessions as a podcast but don't want to be overly concerned with that aspect of it. Decent mic quality, willingness to be recorded are about all I'm asking for. We will do a quick 2 session adventure with your characters to get them from lvl 1 to lvl 2 and create a group bond prior to starting the main events of the story; this will serve as "Session 0." The basic premise is Zombie/undead survival.WOTC classes/races only, however some leniency with backstory. The story will take place in modified Faerun. I will be the DM and I have run a couple of 2-3 month campaigns in the past so while it isn't my first rodeo at DMing, I would still consider myself a beginner DM.
This will be very survival-based, exhaustion, spell components, water, and food consumption, etc. If you have been a fan of zombie media, this may be the campaign for you!
Please reply or pm me with why you're interested, a couple of race/classes you'd want to use, and what general times (including time zone) you'd be most available. We will almost assuredly not be doing any weekends. To show you've read the post, please also post/pm your favorite zombie movie/book/show/etc.
I think that sounds like a really fun idea. If I had to play a role, I think I would probably try and make a necromancer. As you know from the post you commented on, I am a new player with zero in game experience, but with a fair amount of knowledge of the basic mechanics. To be more exact about my class, I would probably play warlock if given the choice. I am open to any class however, and heard that you can make an eldritch knight that can server a similar function.
My time zone is mountain, and my free times flexible. The only thing I would like to point out is that I have a light lisp that can effect certain pronunciations. Since you wanted to film it, I thought I would let you know.
Finally, although I really enjoyed the first few seasons of the walking dead, the one movie where I find that zombies really shined, was World War Z. I found that the concept of a faster zombie made for more...well dread I suppose.
I hope this covers everything, let me know if I need to confirm anything else!
So the main concern i have with a necro is that you're going to be trying to destroy the forces that have brought the undead to power in the land and a necro, well, brings more undead to the land. I'm not sure how much sense this would make for the continuity of the story. Do you have an idea of how to fold that in?
Hmmm, I can play another if that helps the story, however, I may have an idea on how I might be able to fight this in. So basically, my character could be a necromancer by necessity, given the state of the world, why let all that potential use go to waste when you can use the very enemy to your advantage. I was thinking more along of the lines of fight fire with fire, however, like i said earlier I am not sold on just one playstyle. As a warlock, I could very well make a storyline were I sold my soul for power to defend myself from the rising threats of undead, then i could optimize my character to just use regular magic that doesn't include the nercomancy.
hmm, there are story things that make the warlock path also a tough sell, I just don't think given what I want to do with the story that it really fits. If you have another character you'd really love to try I'd love to hear it, however I don't think that a Necro or a Warlock really fit this campaign.
Wizard is great, please remember that you will actually have to use and find the spell components for your spells. might be worth checking some of your common spells to make sure you're ok trying to remember to find said components. :)
Alright, I will be sure to read up on the spells. I will PM my discord to your account, and when you want to discuss this in more details simply get in contact through there.
Hey!! I saw that you commented on my thread!! Yours truly has fairly decent mic quality, a stunning personality, and a level 7 (for backstory reasons, can be changed back to level 1 ofc!) Changeling rouge who I believe would be perfect for your campaign. My favorite zombie show is The Walking Dead! I'm interested because I like survival based adventures and this concept sounds insanely rad, especially for the character I want to play as. I'm very lenient as far as scheduling goes and as well as anything game related. I'm available during weekdays after 3PM (Central Time) and open any time on the weekends, including Sunday.

Hey that's perfectly fine for me. As I said, I am willing to try anything. I would like to use magic if possible, how would a wizard sound?
