The Material Plane is a scarred, pockmarked place, ravaged by a war long forgotten. The details have been lost to time, but we know a few things for certain. Magic is warped, the planes have collapsed, and the gods are dead. Our tribes have been living amidst That Which Remains hundreds of years now, determined that one day we will regain our rightful place.

A few thousand years after the cataclysmic event called The Provenance changed the firmaments of existence, humanoids find themselves at the bottom of the food chain against otherworldly entities. Protected by scavenged relics, magical wards, and makeshift guardians, humanoids live isolated from the surrounding world, staying within their tribes for most of their lives, or surely dying an early death in the corrupted wilds. Many of the extraplanar beings that now call the Material home would seek to claim what little we have.

So, there you are. For one reason or another, separated from one of the few communities still standing, struggling to stay alive by employing dark magics and unconventional rituals. Doomed to find an early grave, until you encounter more like you. Perhaps, if you play it smart and work together, you will survive.

My name is Shay (she/her), I have been DMing for about 3 years now, 2 years of which have been the same game, for the same group. I wanted to branch out, and try something totally different, so I’m starting a game to run on fridays! I have three players available, but I need a couple more to make a nicely rounded party, which is exactly where you come in.

The world of Rites and Rituals is a dangerous place filled with many strange magics and hidden relics from the world that once was. The campaign is intended to be a heavy roleplay action adventure filled with extraplanar dangers, where desperate measures are the standard. Though much of the lore and flavor is significantly different, we are using the D&D 5e system with some options for homebrew classes and races! You as a player will be one in a group of wayward travellers from the many humanoid tribes that have been settled in their respective locations for a few odd hundred years, warding off (or attempting to) the many Things in The Woods that would seek to harm, capture or destroy them and their kin.

We are a welcoming, LGBTQ+ friendly group with a varying amount of experience and a preference for campaigns with space for ample RP and plenty of character development. The game would take place on Fridays from roughly 7 PM UTC to 11 PM UTC. We primarily use Discord as our communication platform and Roll20 as our game platform.
