Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online (Probs Roll20) Experience: New, just-past-new Location/Timezone: North America, GMT - 6 (CST) Schedule: Weekday evenings / Weekends Roles sought: Players, and/or DMs Game style: Balanced for beginners, but weighted toward hack n' slash
Hey there folks. I'm sure I'm not alone, but physical distancing has made getting groups together an almost non-existent proposition. My kids have been getting into D&D 5e over the past year or so, with both of them joining clubs at school. Those clubs are dead this year. I'm hoping to possibly get together a group of parents and their kids for either some 2-3 session campaigns, a series of one-shots, or whatever. I've been the designated DM for all our family and friend sessions, but am still quite inexperienced at running a good game. That said, I'm happy to do it if there isn't another person willing to do so. Goes without saying, but absolute beginners are very welcome.
NOTE: The sessions I'm envisioning would also be shorter than the standard 4 hour session - more like 2 - 2.5 hours at a time. I find that's about the place where my younger adventurer (11) starts to check out anyway - plus shorter sessions may fit into people's schedule better.
I'm getting going with Roll 20, and am learning how to set up campaigns there. I've played one full one-shot with it, and really like how easy it is to run the game.
Anyway - that's a very specific set of criteria I'm putting out there, and wanted to see if anyone else is interested before I start putting too much energy into this.

I wish you all the best of luck with this. I just hope my 10 year old gets into it someday so I can ask the same thing ;)
