Do you want to start playing D&D but don't know where to start? Have you seen heard about Virtual Tabletop systems but they seem overwhelming? Sign up now for one of my tutorial sessions where I will teach you how to play 5th edition D & D, brush up your skills if you are a returning player and introduce you to Foundry Virtual Tabletop. I run multiple sessions a week; use the link below to sign up for a slot or join our discord server for more information.
Background: I have been playing TTRPGs most of my life. I fell in love with D & D for its rich lore, endless possibilities and the ability to create evocative stories with my fellow players. It is my belief that D & D (and other TTRPGs) can serve as a version of communal therapy. That is how I want to spend my life, enriching other people's lives through the game we all love. I am passionate about provocative storytelling, meaningful connections with people and catharsis through creative expression.
DM style: I prefer to challenge my players with equal shares of combat, narrative roleplaying, and exploration but I tailor our games based on the needs of my players. I am knowledgeable on the rules as written and I have homebrewed rules to supplement the gameplay experience as appropriate. All my homebrew rules are explained upfront and if I ever need to change a rule, I will discuss it beforehand. I consider myself to be a confident, clever, and fair DM, but good storytelling is to show not tell.
What to expect: As a player in this session you will take control of one of my pre-made characters in order to lear how to play D & D and/or play on Foundry VTT. The PC's will have to work together to escape the clutches of the Voodas Cartel.
This session serves as introduction toD & D, Foundry VTT and my DMing. If at the end of the session you are interested in playing with me in a long-term campaign you can sign up for one after we play.
