I've gotten into actively playing DnD recently, currently participating in two bi-weekly games. And while I'd like to find more games to play in, with my work schedule there's no additional set time slot that I can consistently make.
Thus I've come to the conclusion that a West Marches style game would easily work best for me. I'm in the EST timezone, times where I would have chances to play would be anytime on Saturday, Sunday Mid/Late Afternoon, Friday Evenings, and on rare occasions Late Afternoon on weekdays. I have discord and a d20 account, a bunch of the books in PDF form.
Would need to be fairly newbie friendly as I want to try my hand at playing a full spellcaster. Looking for playing on an actual digital plane and not theatre of mind. Also as I'm in my late 20s I'd rather the server not be entirely populated by young teens. I have nothing against RPing with a few, but if the entire server is aimed at young teens I'm going to feel very out of place. In some ways I'd prefer a game that's either just starting up or at least is well set up for setting up waves of new characters instead of joining a well established game with few to no new characters.
While I'm fairly new to DnD as a whole, I'm not new to RPing necessarily. Spent 15+ years doing post by post RPing that also included a home made stat system. And before I started playing DnD I spent months binge watching Critical Role S2, watching Dungeon Dudes, reading up on the DnD 5e wiki, and playing around with character building in general. I like trying to find a bit more off the wall ideas and merging them with tried and true established plans: what I want to try right now specifically is a Loxodon or Lizardfolk War Wizard.
