[Online] [5E] Seeking a Female replacement for Long term homebrew game set in the forgotten realms. 4p.mPST/6p.mCST Newer players also welcome.25+
We have an awesome game going, ran by an exceptionally talented Dm who really invests time and effort into making something we all look forward to every Sat. He uses ambient sound fx, thematic music, as well as quality maps and effects. He even alters his voice with a microphone sometimes. Great stuff! We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about potentially joining up for the long haul if it’s a good fit for them. Currently in the party: Ranger/Bard/Artificer/Sorcerer.
We have something else unique as well to offer. Other than the weekly Saturday game-we run a weekly rp chat mini game In our discord server, where you can explore wherever you’d like and complete small quests and errands. We are all pretty involved in it and do a lot of rp and exploration in there. If that seems like something you’d like to be on board with that’s a huge plus. It also gives everyone a chance to pursue their own backstory alone or with a friend or even the group throughout the week leading up to the Sat game.
We run the game on Foundry---Wait! If you are not familiar with foundry, we can/will help you learn the ropes as we are a friendly bunch-and foundry is free! And in our opinion a much better experience than roll20. So, if you want to commit to this game we will step in and help you get rolling in foundry no problem.
Right now there is not a lot of gender diversity in the group (All male) We are lacking that diversity dynamic and would be happy if we could find a female player to join our crew.
ABOUT THE GAME: The game takes place in Neverwinter and is a homebrew, however it also is compatible with modules so you will over time get the best of both worlds and get a chance to experience the Lore of Faerun and be immersed in that world. The game runs 4-5 hrs.
We use the PHB only for races and classes. 27 point buy 15 ability cap on creation. We aim for a balance between Story/Rp/Combat/exploration. XP Milestone. Game is mid-fantasy.
HOMEBREW RULES: From the D.m
1. At 1 HP, PCs are unable to actively fight, but may cast spells or use items. At 0 unconscious. If reduced below zero, PCs lose 1 hp per round until -10. PC dies at -10. No death saving throw tracking.
2. Prone. If a PC (or enemy) falls prone, it takes an action to stand up along with half movement. Actions can still take place from the prone position (but may be at disadvantage).
3. Critical fails: if a player rolls a natural 1, something bad happens. The player gets to choose the result: broken weapon, lost footing (prone), or complication. If complication, DM gets to introduce something (my choice) that may happen immediately or later.
4. Critical success (in combat): Nat 20 is double damage dice, but the second die is automatic maximum. Ex. Fighter hits with long sword. Nat 20. 1d8 +str + 8.
5. Inspiration: PCs can use inspiration to change 1 small aspect of reality. In other words, players can use inspiration to become part of the storytelling. DM adjudicates, but more creativity equals greater effect! Ex: fighters sword was just broken on a critical fail. Fighter uses inspiration to invoke an aspect. There is a shiny sword poking out from the rubble only a few feet away! Wizard casts a spell at a critical moment, but it fails. With inspiration, maybe there is a second chance of success?
6. I tend to allow called shots at increased difficulty. Trying to hit the beast in the eye or pinning the goblin to the wall.
7. Armor has HP as well. When armor is reduced to zero, it must be replaced. Shields only last so long…
8. Long rest: While away from safety, long rests provide powers and spell slots, but no additional hit dice.
*Rule of cool. If its awesome, I will tend to allow it.
If you have read this far, your awesome! Thanks for taking the time and if your really interested and want to talk more Dm me. If we sound like a good fit I can Invite you into the server asap and get you set up. Thanks!
I am new to playing DND but I have been watching games! I am a female and would love to join your group! I have always been in theater, so this is right up my alley.
