I'm Shelby (Shelb), female, 25. As the title suggests I'm usually a DM, but I have played on many occasions both in person and online as a PC. Most recently I've begun a campaign based in Critical Role's Wildemount (via Discord) and it is a campaign that is still ongoing. I have 9 players in total, so the stuff I have to plan and keep on top of can be nuts.
But I adore my players, don't get me wrong, and I love DMing. They are hands down the best people I've ever met and I love that DnD is what brought us together, and I always strive to give them a fun, relatively stress-free experience each week. We're all Aussie and play every Sunday unless something comes up, so I look forward to the weekends when we all get together online to play, especially now when the party's relationships and turmoils are starting to develop.
However, I do really miss playing as a character, especially after the last, very brief campaign I played in ended suddenly, and the DM has no intention of picking it back up again. More DnD is never a bad thing, and having another campaign to take a player role in I think is something I really need right now. I live in Sydney, Australia so the timezone is (AEDT) Australian Eastern Daylight Time, which is UTC+11 hrs. I'm unemployed after losing my job to *the plague* so all I really have on my schedule is making things for my little Etsy business when I feel the urge or the need. I'm also studying online but it lets me make my own scehedule, so even then I'm practically available whenever. Just not my Sundays, as that's the only timeslot that I can't change due to my players schedules.
In any case, I like to think I'm pretty chill. I tend to go with the flow, whether that's taking up a class that an ongoing party is in need of or filling an open slot for a new campaign. I won't be a rules lawyer, it's not my vibe, and I've played 1st, 3rd and 5th edition (for no particular reason, jus what versions the DM's chose at the time), but I'll play any edition. I'm working on confidence after growing up as an incredibly shy kid, and I suffer from anxiety that is more or less tamed for these kind of social things.
Anyway, didn't mean for this to be so long so thanks for reading! I hope to meet some more of you and hopefully fit myself in somewhere. Ask any questions you have, I'm an open book. Cheers!
Are you interested in a paid game? I’m looking for a player to round out my homebrew campaign, support class ideal but I’m flexible. This campaign has just started (a few sessions in) and I have a mix of all kinds of players. The campaign is Wednesdays 5:30-8:30 pm PST, and is 10 dollars per 3-hr session. (sorry I’m not sure how that translates to your time zone.)
I’m an experienced DM who loves the shared storytelling and role play aspects of D&d. I incorporated a balanced mix of role play, puzzles, traps, problem solving, and combat. This campaign is a mad mage tower/dungeon crawl with interesting NPCs and unexpected plot twists.
I look for two characteristics primarily in a player:
1) commitment. A player who can be there, on time, and engaged at every session. Most of the party takes notes/blog as a group and keeps an ongoing dialogue on my discord channel to discuss the encounter they are currently involved in. That’s the kind of player I seek!
2) ability and willingness to get along. I like diversity, and disrespect toward anyone in the game isn’t tolerated. I love the type of players that develop a true camaraderie, mutual admiration, or a fun friendly rivalry with each other. But no toxic hostility, please.
that’s it! I love D&d, and if this sounds like a fit, give me a holler.
Thanks
DM Danielle
