About the Game:
Homebrew World: Caointir (Koo-een-tier)
The campaign takes place during the “Age of Silence”.
Once, it was very casual to worship gods, without being as devote as acolytes. Sailors may have prayed to Umberlee before setting sails, solders may have prayed to Tempus before going into battle, thieves may have prayed to Mask before robbing a house, and so on.
But Gods have forsaken the material plane and have been absent for the past 500 years.
The world has grown slowly colder over time, literally and figuratively. The weather is mostly unpredictable and sorrowful.
The Sun hardly ever peaks out from behind the blackened storm clouds, the soil is like dense, thick sludge easy to get stuck in, making agriculture a chore for most. The trees are bare, the forests are dense, and allegedly cursed. The small patch of highlands live on a slope, and are elevated from the rest of the lands. It’s said to be the most fortunate area to live in when it comes to the atrocious amount of rainfall, but it’s not without its faults. The swamps are the only parts of the land that seems to flourish, with the winding river as grey as the clouds above that weaves through the territory.
People are bitter, hostile, paranoid and miserable. It’s harder for women to bare children. It’s harder for farmers to grow crops without some sort of magical aid with someone trained in natural spells- which most have started to pay handsomely for.
There have been countless of wars between lands overseas and different holds within the land over either over supplies, territory or controversial worship of multiple ungodly entities. The races and creatures that once dedicated their very existence over worshipping their lesser deities are now lost and desperate.

Describe your character in one sentence: paladin with a demon/dark entity inside him

Character’s Backstory:
Once was a boy left by his family to rot and die because of an ongoing famine in the countryside.
He was forced to live on the streets and beg for scraps to survive. Not all were kind nad good to the lonely orphan.
The boy was pushed to his limits, hanging on to life until a wandering priest saw him before passing out.
He woke up to see himself awaking from a bed with the priest standign at the corner of the room. He was fed and
clothed by the man. The two did not speak to each other, they just moved and looked at each other knowing what
to do. One night, the priest finally spoke to the young child. The priest voiced out a story of an ancient demon
who awake and vowed to destroy all of creation only to be imprisoned onto a person. The demon must be
locked up until the rest of time by passing it to another person. The priest was very old and on death's doorstep.
He was running out of time to find another prison. And then, he put his hands in his chest to pull out a dark heart
, beating very slowly but with a wave of force no soul can bear. The boy was scared for his life. He felt like his
soul would crush by being in the vicinity of the heart. The priest, without hesitation, jumped onto the paralized boy
, pushing the heart onto the boy. The priest disappeared. There was no trace of the old man. The boy thought that it was
all a dream until he noticed the dark entity controling his mind. He fought back hard to stop the demon, to regain control.
From then on the kid can never sleep unless the demon would take over. He doesnt know what to do but search for what is
happening to him or die.

Describe your character in one sentence: Slightly psychotic Tiefling Warlock who is troubled by shadows in the edge of his vision.
Character’s Alignment: Lawful Evil
Character’s Backstory: Outcast who murdered his own childhood sweetheart in a bout of rage caused by the creeping insanity that is the demons that haunt him. He eventually succumbed to the demons after the grief of his betrayal, becoming a warlock, worshiping the shadows just out of sight. (Not sure what else is needed as this is my first character)
In depth (Read the first guy and decided I needed a better story... Making this up as I go) : Adrian was a simple farm boy, growing up in a small fishing village. Life was tough, but good, and rewarding. He only had one problem, a fiend stalked him since birth. He could manage it most days, but as Adrian grew older, the entity came closer, bolder. Nightmares, images appearing before him, screams in the far reaches in his mind. He dealt with these torments daily. Decidedly, Adrian was finally done with this entity's shit. Come nightfall, he hid in the stable with a farming scythe in hand. When he saw movement, he attacked. Unfortunately, the fiend was not corporal, his swing went strait through the fiend, and then, strait through his sweetheart, not quite dating yet, but on their way. The attack was fatal. Come morning, once what he did became known, Adrian was expunged at the age of 17. Over the next few years Adrian would learn the exist with this Fiend, making him a Warlock.

Character’s Backstory: Noble born from a family of wealthy merchants Malachi always hated his lessons on accounting, politics, history, and blah blah blah. He often had fun escaping from his room under the hawk eyes of his nanny. Usually succeeding. As he grew older he began to see the corruption among nobles and decided he should take some of them down a peg. Began to steal, swindle, and overall cause grief to noble families involved in illegal or violent activities. Eventually growing board of the local nobles and now sets off to mess with any and all nobles that misuse their titles and power.

Sirros grew up deep in the swamps alone with his father, isolated from the world at large. Upon becoming a young adult, the hardships of daily survival and the allure of the unknown led him to abandon his only known kin and to wander into civilisation. Greeted with hostility and suspicion due his fiendish features, his lack of coin and unknown past, he found no home in the small villages outside the swamp. His hunting skills were not unnoticed, but sufficed not to warm the hearts of locals. Character’s Backstory: The Winsmire family was a very proud and powerful family who ruled over *enter plot of land here or city*, the members of the Winsmire family are Fentrix Winsmire the Father, Roseal Winsmire the Mother, Zeph Winsmire the Older Son, and Heath the Younger Son. No one knew how they made it to where they are now in the hierarchy but the Winsmire's are quick to shutdown any rumor's being passed about. Everyone agrees what they do is shady but don't dare question it. The family is very focused on their trade of magical items for prophet. This is where Zeph's swift exit of the family happens. He believed they should donate to the locals to gain a good repuation and to help the community, but the family believes in self gain more than selflessness. Zeph didnt believe in their ideals and refused to take over the family business if they wouldn't agree to change their selfish ways. More days go by of argueing and Zeph is kicked out of the house, left by himself with his training gear he used for sport and a backpack filled with some of his belongings. He hit the road to start a new, hopeing to make a new family that can prove his family that helping the community is more important than hoarding everything for yourself. (this was a quick type I plan on extending it if I can join)

Character’s Backstory: I grew up in the slums as an orphan. Every day was a challenge, trying to steal just to survive another day. The more I got caught, the more I learned, and eventually, I became undetectable or so I thought. Seems I had caught the attention of a thieves guild and when they asked me to join, I couldn't refuse. As the years passed, I learned even more about being a thief and even developed a knack for the arcane. I had made a decent living by stealing from others plus some bonus coin participating in illegal fight pits but this life was starting to grow tiresome. So I made a deal with the guild's leader, a halfling by the name of Marric, one more job, and then I'm done. The mark seemed easy enough, a human named Leona Frostgrove. However, Marric had asked me to spend time with her in order to gain her trust and learn all of her secrets. It was an unusual request but he insisted it's what the client wanted, whoever that is. I went along with it, the first few weeks were rough just trying to get her to talk to me but before long, we were hanging out almost every day. We spent the better part of a year together, during which I learned many things about her and from her. She showed me her love of art and even taught me to paint. I showed her a bit of magic and taught her to shoot a crossbow. One day, she told me she loved me and the rapidness of her heartbeat told me that I felt the same. I could no longer finish the job. When I went to visit Marric to deliver the news, he was furious. I told him I'd pay double what the client offered to let this all go but 10k gold is something I can only dream of seeing. I offered to work off the payment any other way but he refused. Marric said he'd handle it himself, right before he locked me in a room. By the time I was able to escape and make it to Leona's, the place was trashed and she was dead. All that was left behind was a note from Marric say, "This is what happens when you don't finish the job". Since then, Marric has disappeared without a trace. I won't stop until I find him and when I do he'll pray to every god that I show him mercy.
