I have a lot of experience with role playing games, though less so online. It has been a little harder for me to get going on there.  Timing issues mainly I think.

Obviously I do not have a full character backstory written to show yet, having just heard of this and that you want to tie the group together witth backstories in advance of play anyway.  But I  do have a character concept I have been itching to try out lately.  A tabaxi wizard who was never formally trained.  Instead he learned by sneaking in to  the local wizard training center at night as an urchin on the street. Pawing through any spare books he could find thinking they would contain interesting stories.  Through stealing scraps of paper and lots of this secret reading he more or less accidentally steals himself a starting spellbook.  Having figured out magic, and how it works, his driving goal is to be one of the legends of magic, witha  spell bearing his name like he saw in the books and scraps he read in stolen moments.
