Game: D&D 5e, Princes of the Apocalypse Campaign Group type: Online/Discord/D&D Beyond/Roll20
Looking for Experience: New or little experience Location/Timezone: CST but other zones welcome to join Schedule: Every other Saturday afternoon; start time is negotiable for now but once we start, it will need to be consistent as this will be streamed regularly on twitch; hope to start in February Roles sought: 5 consistent, friendly and respectful players, would prefer players ages 30 and above but otherwise all human types welcomed, no hate here; possible mature themes with some language Game style: This is going to be heavy on the roleplay bit so make sure you have a love for playing a part - quirks and all. Obviously being new players, you'll have a lot of questions, which is 100% fine and okay to break character for that but the more comfortable you become with the game, the more we'll delve into story and character development. 5e rules with no homebrew unless discussed with DM prior.
I am a new DM looking to learn the DM'ing ropes alongside new players. I've played D&D with family and friends off and on for about 5 years but always as a player, so patience with me will be necessary. Players need to have a healthy sense of humor and be able to laugh at themselves when the dice don't go the way their way - roll with the punches baby! Plan to live stream our games on twitch channel so please ensure your game time is free from interruptions - some things can't be helped obviously, but your best effort will be appreciated.
You'll Need: D&D Beyond, Roll20 and Discord. I'll also be streaming on twitch so you need to have trustworthy/good internet, a decent webcam and decent microphone. Rolling actual dice is far more fun than digital ones imho, it puts the control of complete randomness in your hands ;) So you'll need a set or twenty of normal D&D dice and an honest spirit as we'll be using the honor system on rolls.
Character sheets will be utilized on D&D Beyond but if you've never done character creation, fear not - we will have a session zero (or two) to go over this. Characters to start at lvl 1 and development discussed with the DM (oh, that's me) to ensure the fit and flow of the campaign. I have a deep love of Critical Role and found myself wanting to experience a close knit group like that. I see a lot of people on these threads looking to join a regular DM group they can become comfortable and friendly with - I hope this group to be that as well and expect this campaign to go on for months, maybe a year? Maybe longer?
PM me on D&D beyond if you're interested. DM reserves the right to expel any player from the group that doesn't get along or is wildly inappropriate without remorse - but please don't make me; just be nice and respectful, it's not hard. Please include in your PM a little about yourself: what drew you to D&D? any experience? know any accents? a character idea you've been considering? anything you're not comfortable with (speak now or forever hold your peace)? availability on Saturday's? ever streamed a twitch/youtube channel before, if so, include a link to your channel? what are you most excited about in joining this campaign? any questions/expectations you have for me?
I am very interested in the campaign. If this campaign is closer to the evening time, I would love to play. I am in the central time zone and have been playing since 2008. Just started DMing 2020 and I do have a youtube channel where I post some D&D content as well as a twitch channel.
I would like to join as well, although I do not have a webcam that is functioning at the moment (my dog thought it was a chew toy after it got knocked off the desk)
Hello hello! Sent a bit of a message by DM, I'd certainly be interested in joining, have my webcam, mic, the whole shebang set up and ready to go for that sort of thing! Further details in DM. Well, two, because I can be easily exciteable.
I'd love to give this a try! You can reach out to me, if you want, through Discord as Minty#1150
I am 20 years old (21 in April) and Heavy into Role Playing my Lizardfolk Paladin with a Devil Wife with a conceived child (Neither has to be prominent if so desired)
Hey guys - just an update, we are still looking for another player for this campaign. Just to reiterate, we are looking for age 30 and up. Look forward to hearing from you!
I'm interested, but my time may not align. I would be available on Saturdays but after 9:00pm EST (8:00pm your time). If that works, let me know. If not, no worries.
Unfortunately I am not 30. I am 16 however if this does not affect your perception of me too harshly I would quite appreciate an invite I am open to nearly every role and have many ideas for characters. If my age is an issue I completely understand and thank you for your consideration. I do hope that you will consider me in the future though.
I am so thrilled by the responses and saddened that we couldn't offer more spots to those looking for a game. For those who inquired but we didn't have room for - please don't let it get you down. As I'm sure you've noticed there are a lot of people on these threads that want to play. Keep looking and putting yourself out there! You'll find the right group! Consider being a DM...I know it's scary - believe me, I know - but people are willing to help you through it to be able to play. You'll never know unless you try :)
