What is your location? State/Country and Time Zone: Alabama, USA. CST/EST
Can you commit to a time slot of Tuesday or Wednesday from 6:30pm-1030pm PST?: I'm free for that block for the foreseeable future.
Are you comfortable talking in front of people?: I am very comfortable talking to and in front of strangers. I performed or spoke in front of a large audience (100-300) numerous times in high school.
What kind of characters do you like/want to play? Why?: I am drawn to frontline melee characters like fighters or paladins. Being in the thick of combat lends a sense of tension to the battle for me personally, and also affords me a position where I can maneuver enemies into advantageous positions for allies. From a roleplaying perspective, I enjoy playing characters with a very limited arsenal of spells. It justifies a very pragmatic personage who is forced to coordinate with the more magically inclined party members to solve problems in the purview of the arcane.
What are you looking to get out of a campaign with your character?: In almost all of my games, I seek foremost to build relationships with other characters and grow alongside them, learning lessons from the adventures we have together. I want to work to overcome my predjudices and shortcomings to become a hero through strength of character, not just deeds.
Have you experienced the permanent death of a character or of a long-term party member?: In a homebrew 5e game a couple of years ago, our Tiefling bard sacrificed himself by collapsing a tunnel over his head in order to stop a pursuing Orc warband. It was a somber moment that allowed my lawful evil Warlock to reflect on her idea of "worthy sacrifice."
What was the best part of your last campaign?: Our party had been travelling with a half-elven artificer that was a timid, unreliable sort. When we reached our destination -- the artificer's home city -- we met his (figurative) witch of a mother, who had a tendency to constantly berate and discourage him. With the party at the artificer's back, we confronted the woman and, after a long argument, told her to kick rocks. The artificer cut ties with his family and opted to travel with the party as an ally rather than an employer, learning from each of us how to be a proper adventurer.
What is one thing you would change about your last DM?: There was an incident early on in which my first character (a Tortle cleric) and the party rogue butted heads. The rogue had a personal grudge against a boss we had just slain, and attempted to fire a crossbow bolt into the corpse. My character, already kneeling beside the body and being very much against the act of defiling corpses, attempted to intervene by blocking the shot with his shell. The DM, rather than having us roll to see what happened, remained silent and -- I assume -- wanted us to settle the confrontation in-character via dialogue. Instead, we ended up arguing over what happened, and ultimately it became a spat about "preventing moments of character growth." I feel like the DM ought to have immediately had us perform contested rolls the moment we opposed each other.
What streams, YouTube campaigns, or D&D-related podcasts do you enjoy?: I frequent Runesmith, XPToLevel3, WASD20, and Critical Role. I used to watch Dice, Camera, Action on occasion. Dungeon Dudes has recently appeared on my radar as well.
What are some of your favorite and least favorite homebrew rules?: I always like to use Mercer's "roll for health, reroll 1s" rule. It's a common ruling, but I also like the feats on ASI too, with some DM oversight. For least favorite...I'm not a fan of the TCE racial bonus modification rules; I feel as though it further homogenizes some of the races from a gameplay perspective.
What webcam and mic do you use/can you acquire in time for the stream?: I use a Shure SM7B XLR Microphone with a Mackie CFX6 mixer. Nvidia Broadcast allows me to further clean up my sound without requiring post editing. As for a webcam, I have a Logitech C270 720p webcam. Not top of the line hardware, but serviceable quality.

Can you commit to a time slot of Tuesday or Wednesday from 6:30pm-1030pm PST? (15 min tech rehearsal before live, four hour block for play with a 15-minute break during the session.) Yes
Are you comfortable talking in front of people? For example: do you have any theater experience? No theater experience however I'm used to public speaking and have no issues with being live infront of people.
What kind of characters do you like/want to play? Why? Provide as many details as you can. (Please keep in mind that you may not be playing this exact character in this campaign.) I usually enjoy fighter or wizard due to versatility and the possible play on how to work them. Beyond that I love to create a medium backstory of a character to give some basis for the DM and to leave enough of it blank to give some of the control to the DM. I'd love to discuss specifics on it or be surprised.
What are you looking to get out of a campaign with your character? Goals, etc.. it truly depends on the character. Either a specific goal that is very complex to do or a type of personal growth.
Have you experienced the permanent death of a character or of a long-term party member? What happened, and what was the outcome? Yes, I was playing Alforgruck Durrerlund alfozzik Whitgrog. A Dwarf blacksmith who learned how to make enchanted weapons and armor without knowing anything about magic. I ended up making a cursed shield on accident and got into a fight with a group of pirates. Another player used "heat metal" on one of their guns and ended up causing an explosion of gun powder, causing a chain reaction explosion, dealing a total of 342 damage, killing 3 party members.
What was the best part of your last campaign? accidentally enchanting a blacksmith station with a bouncing enchantment, causing the town to (after a few weeks) be full of people unable to stop jumping around town.
What is one thing you would change about your last DM? I'd open his schedule up a bit.
What streams, YouTube campaigns, or D&D-related podcasts do you enjoy? Crit-Roll
What are some of your favorite and least favorite homebrew rules? Favorite, feeding a potion to an ally is a bonus action. Least Favorite, Impossible terrain - lose all movement until someone pulls you out.
What webcam and mic do you use/can you acquire in time for the stream? 1080P camera with gaming headset (i forget actual brands but they're good)
I could do either day, I would prefer Tuesday but I have a flexible schedule.
I do not have any theater experience. I have taught classes, led various training exercises, and have done several promotion-style boards during my time in the military. I also have no issues taking charge in class presentations in college, performing while playing music, or just being a goofy ham in general.
This would be only my second time playing, but so far I have enjoyed playing the class of bard. When playing similar games (such as Talisman), I have gotten fully dressed into a ridiculous bard outfit and de-tuned a guitar to make for some quite cringeworthy performances while others are performing actions. I would have no issues playing another class though; I am fairly versatile.
I just want to enjoy myself and meet new people. If we are talking about my current character (a level 1 Goliath bard), Byron wants to explore a vast world that has recently been opened to him while he also keeps a watchful eye out for others who find the life of a bard intriguing.
I have not.
Using my lute as a judge's gavel in a party discussion about whether or not I would be allowed to play music before rested for the night or not. I won the argument.
Maybe I would enjoy a little more sound effect, animal noise making. I haven't had any of that before, but I enjoy it and find it hysterical.
I have enjoyed both Force Grey and Dimension 20.
I did not like the ability to swap initiative roles before combat begins. I like the idea of fate and the dice determining what happens rather than swaying the battle in your favor. I did enjoy how fumbles let an enemy whoop that butt. It makes for more of a sense of peril and possible doom for someone who fumbles.
Ummmmm.... a good one? Lol, if I make it, I'll get something that fits the bill. Currently a schoolwork laptop for a camera and a gaming headset. I have a light which makes the picture more clear and bright.
3. Yes. No theater experience but can talk well in front of people. 4. I'm comfortable with fighters and rangers but curious about warlocks and half orcs and. I've played monks but not enough. Monks are fun and I think underrated. 5. Goals would depend on the world's theme and state of immediate area. Enlightenment as a goal hasn't happened for me and would be interesting. Discovering the meaning of something that's always been confusing or that I never would've considered how special it really us when looked at differently. 6. Yes. Death occurred by displacement beast. It's upsetting when death of PC happens, attachment should occur. But we roll new characters and typically have a connection to PC that just died. 7. Discovering a PC in the party was part of conspiracy that spread rumors about leaders of a faction I've been part of half my PC's life. I was ordered to kill this PC even tho we befriended each other. We worked together to fool the factions. 8. Too many terrain pieces and mini structures. 9. Dimension 20, Critical Role, the Magpies, Dungeon Dads. 10. Favs are Max die+ roll on crits, customizing character creation. Least fav no rolling for initiative 11. iPhone with OBS, kids gaming headset for mic. But no issue getting proper gear.
What is your location? Arkansas - CST (6:30 PST would be 8:30 CST)
Can you commit to a time slot of Tuesday or Wednesday from 6:30pm-1030pm PST? If on Tuesday yes, Wednesday I cannot as I stream Princes of the Apocalypse that night.
Are you comfortable talking in front of people? For example: do you have any theater experience? Yes, I already stream 2 days a week.
What kind of characters do you like/want to play? Why? I would like to play a wide variety of characters, it's all RP for me. I just don't like clerics but tend to support-based PCs.
What are you looking to get out of a campaign with your character? Goals, etc.. I DM 2 games and I haven't played in a game in a while. I don't backseat DM, anti-meta gaming, and I prefer to immerse myself into a character.
Have you experienced the permanent death of a character or of a long-term party member? What happened, and what was the outcome? Yes, my first character Azezor LeCrain died, to a necrotic fireball, TPK. It is sad because of his story and all the work I put into him, but I'm glad for the adventures he went on. Death happens.
What was the best part of your last campaign? Last campaign as a player, best thing that happened? A PC i loved playing had a brother (another PC) and when the big brother quit, my PC would have never stuck around realistically. So my PC packed up and went home with his brother and now resides running a store until he finds another game. I rolled a new PC. The RP and story is what does it for me.
What is one thing you would change about your last DM? Nothing, my last DM and I DM very differently but that's how you grow and have fun. Would still be playing with him if IRL didn't get in his way.
What streams, YouTube campaigns, or D&D-related podcasts do you enjoy? Critical Role (ofc), High Rollers, and I lurk on random streams from time to time.
What are some of your favorite and least favorite homebrew rules? Don't like major rule changes but I'm pretty open. Can't say I have a least. My favorite would probably be (less homebrew and more optional) flanking.
What webcam and mic do you use/can you acquire in time for the stream? I have a Logitech c920 HD1080p webcam and a few mics, I currently use my Audio-Technica XLR and audio interface, but depending on what is going on in my house I sometimes switch to my Blue Yeti (It picks up less background noise), if I travel I have a laptop with a good (720p?) camera and I travel with my Blue Snowball mic. I also have a background set up, lighting, and green screen if I need.

Can you commit to a time slot of Tuesday or Wednesday from 6:30pm-1030pm PST? (15 min tech rehearsal before live, four hour block for play with a 15-minute break during the session.)
I can commit to both time/day slots.
Are you comfortable talking in front of people? For example: do you have any theater experience?
I'm extremely comfortable speaking in front of people. For the last almost 20 years my job has required me to speak in front of large groups of people to both motivate and lead them. Public speaking is not an issue at all.
What kind of characters do you like/want to play? Why? Provide as many details as you can. (Please keep in mind that you may not be playing this exact character in this campaign.)
I would love to play a character that has been ostracized or treated as less than by a large portion of the society he grew up in and is now trying to learn to trust people that don't look like him. This would essentially equate to a loner character that is torn between the safety of relying on himself and the desire to have a connection with people. I have a Hunter character that I would love to flesh out in this manner. I'm not opposed to magic-users but I can draw on more real life experiences with melee/ranged fighter types. My preferred race would be something less common than the major races. Aasimar, Bugbear, Half-X, would be what I would go for, especially since they would fit more into my character's backstory.
What are you looking to get out of a campaign with your character? Goals, etc..
My primary goal would be for my character to be able to come to terms with his feelings towards others, be able to actually experience friendship and others caring for him, and explore what he would do to prevent that from being taken away from him. I would also like to see how his relationships and experiences shape his character/class progression throughout the campaign, i.e - his feats and ability choices would be affected by his experiences with the world/people/party members to date. On a personal level, I want to be able to fully flesh out my character and make him three-dimensional (voice, mannerisms, etc.).
Have you experienced the permanent death of a character or of a long-term party member? What happened, and what was the outcome?
I have not experienced permanent death in-game, but I have suffered losses in real-life of people I've trained and worked with. I think while on an extremely different scale, it would definitely feel similar and the reaction and emotions, while muted, would be there as well.
What was the best part of your last campaign?
The sense of adventure and not knowing what's around the next corner, but knowing you and the rest of the party all have the shared experience of everything that has happened before. That shared experience has brought the party closer together and made them feel as though they can stand in the face of anything as a powerful and united force.
What is one thing you would change about your last DM?
My current DM is amazing. He's made the experience more immersive than I could've ever expected. There have been times where I absolutely forgot that I was a separate person from my character. The only thing I would "change" is adding video to our game. Just think it makes it easier to roleplay and avoids people stepping on each other in when speaking.
What streams, YouTube campaigns, or D&D-related podcasts do you enjoy?
Like many, Critical Role, both Vox Machina and The Might Nein, and recently I am big into High Rollers: Aerois. I also really enjoyed Joe Manganiello's Greyhawk series.
What are some of your favorite and least favorite homebrew rules?
I haven't experienced any that are particularly offensive. And while I do love respecting the Dice Gods and going with what was rolled, I do like it when we remember that this is a game that should be enjoyable, so having a "Remember the Fun Rule" for a ridiculous amount of bad rolls can be useful in moderation.
What webcam and mic do you use/can you acquire in time for the stream?
Currently running with a medium-high tiered gaming laptop webcam and gaming headset, but would not be at all opposed to upgrading as I'm a huge fan of seeing and being seen by the party during online play.
What is your location? State/Country and Time Zone. (International Players are welcome to apply) Washington DC (EST)
Can you commit to a time slot of Tuesday or Wednesday from 6:30pm-1030pm PST? (15 min tech rehearsal before live, four hour block for play with a 15-minute break during the session.) Yes, that's late night for me which works great! Both days work but prefer Tuesday over Wednesday.
Are you comfortable talking in front of people? For example: do you have any theater experience? I'm extremely comfortable in front of people. I worked for several years as an emcee at music festivals and sporting events. I also worked as a radio DJ for a few years. So I have 0 problem talking in front of a large group of people.
What kind of characters do you like/want to play? Why? Provide as many details as you can. (Please keep in mind that you may not be playing this exact character in this campaign.) I like my characters to have a connection to the world. I love moments in campaigns where a character gets to interact with someone from their past. Working with the DM to set up a good backstory is very important to me. I like to avoid the my parents died and I'm a lone wolf archetype and prefer to have some strong bonds to the world. My characters are usually a little silly but grounded. I think a lot of people forget that even the most serious of characters find themselves in awkward situations and also a lot of the time people deal with trauma through humor. From an actual gameplay standpoint I like to play healer or support characters like a cleric or bard and have an idea for both of those that could work for this campaign.
What are you looking to get out of a campaign with your character? Goals, etc.. Number one goal is always to have fun. I'd love to see my character grow, resolve a personal story arch while working with the party to resolve their arcs, while obviously in the middle of the overall campaign story arc. Not asking too much of the DM there am I? :)
Have you experienced the permanent death of a character or of a long-term party member? What happened, and what was the outcome? I think you have to always going in to a campaign prepared for your character to die. In a recent campaign I personally had my character die and the DM ended up bringing him back as part of the final encounter so that we ended up fighting a mutated pit fiend version of my character from earlier in the campaign. It was awesome!
What was the best part of your last campaign? The bond formed with the group. We just finished a two year campaign and finding a group of people willing and ready to show up every week to play is hard but this group really connected and formed a great bond and told an awesome story. We took a few weeks off and then jumped right back in for a new campaign.
What is one thing you would change about your last DM? He struggled a bit with properly handling magic items in a balanced way. It can be hard so I understand. He gave some items that were pretty much forgotten about and not used by some players but then one got an amazing item that was used a ton and made him stand out a little too much in a more combat heavy campaign.
What streams, YouTube campaigns, or D&D-related podcasts do you enjoy? Critical Role is probably the given. I also really like the Dungeon Dudes and the DND Beyond and official D&D channels put on some great one shots and campaigns.
What are some of your favorite and least favorite homebrew rules? Drinking a potion as a bonus action instead of an action. Anything that improves upon the grappling mechanic. And a fun one I've played with but it might be a little too much was if you cast a spell as a bonus action you could still cast a spell with your action.
What webcam and mic do you use/can you acquire in time for the stream? Camera: C920 Mic: Blue Yeti
Can you commit to a time slot of Tuesday or Wednesday from 6:30pm-1030pm PST? I'm extremely flexible on my time.
Are you comfortable talking in front of people? For example: do you have any theater experience? Yes
What kind of characters do you like/want to play? Why? Provide as many details as you can. (Please keep in mind that you may not be playing this exact character in this campaign.) Typically a more charismatic based character but I'm very interested in playing a darker more recluse character to begin with.
What are you looking to get out of a campaign with your character? Just general fun and adventure. I'm very interested in character crafting, and story development.
Have you experienced the permanent death of a character or of a long-term party member? What happened, and what was the outcome? To a degree. Its difficult but very impactful. I can appreciate a death in the name of the advancement of the story.
What was the best part of your last campaign? The laughs in general
What is one thing you would change about your last DM? Little more wiggle room in how to approach situations
What streams, YouTube campaigns, or D&D-related podcasts do you enjoy? Crit role, etc.
What are some of your favorite and least favorite homebrew rules? I'm okay with most things as long as they don't get so restrictive that things start to feel rigid, predetermined and unchangeable regarding the future of the story.
What webcam and mic do you use/can you acquire in time for the stream? Blue Yeti and Razer Kiyo
I am definitely interested...even though I'm a bit late to the party, here. Hoping there will still be room for me for an interview/audition!
I am from Ontario, Canada, EST
I can commit to Wednesdays!
I am extremely comfortable and confident speaking in front of others. I am an Arts and English literature teacher and professional musician. In addition to music performance, I have theatre experience and have presented my research and other topics at large conferences.
I am not married to any particular kind of character, so long as there is a lot of room for RP and growing a story together. I love to work collaboratively with a party to explore interesting and difficult issues and ideas. So, for me, there is no particular character to do that with, it's more about putting together a dynamic party.
I'm looking to tell a collective story. I want our characters to confront some big-time social-emotional issues and learn to trust one another. I'd love to kick ass with some big bosses, too, of course, but I think it's important for characters to experience NOT being okay after combat/violence. I also want to build something unique that an audience will enjoy and be loyal to. Having a great time, being entertaining, laughs and tears.
I have had a character blink out of existence and our party has no idea if she's dead, on another plane, or if she will return somehow. During combat, she polymorphed into a t-rex to combat some zombie dinosaurs. After a successful slaying of enemies, a party member (and her closest ally) asked her to drink water from a suspicious well, because "You have a lot of health and the worse that will happen is that you lose your t-rex form." She gave into peer pressure, drank the water, and vanished. It was shocking. The party was devastated and spent the next few weeks trying to figure out how to grieve, how to find her, how to move on. It was hilarious and disastrous and all things you want in a character death.
The players - for sure. We have great charisma together. We have learned how to play off one another, to settle disputes in character and out; we have a weekly meeting about the campaign, possible storylines to purse, character development options, etc.
Less rules-lawyer and not get upset when things don't go "their way." I know DMs put so much time and effort into planning storylines and arcs, but I feel like my last DM was too married to their vision of what they thought was supposed to happen - it really got in the way of character development and storytelling.
Of course, Critical Role. I also like trying startups - I'm following one called HP2XP right now. Outside of that, I've popped into a few campaigns here and there, but have not really stuck to many because I like to spend time in other fantasy worlds, too (e.g. GOT, The Witcher, etc.)
Favourite Homebrew rules - tend to be anything allows for flavour in RP/Combat; for example, if a character doesn't have a second attack but is allowed the occasional unarmed strike to take out the last 2 hit points of a creature; Least favourite - anything that is not consistently applied to all party members and/or campaign. Usually, this has to do with ability checks for me (e.g. One campaign I was in, we had con checks for a drinking game - that went well, but then the next time our characters were in a pub we were drunk after a glass without any con checks)
For my camera and mic I have a Razer kiyo and Siren X.
I'm really looking forward to the opportunity to speak with you more about the possibility of being part of this endeavour!
I'm auditioning for a part, too, but I enjoyed reading about what your viewpoint is on post battle trauma. I wish you luck and maybe we'll meet at the virtual table.
Hello I am new to DnD...I have just created an account and a character and i am looking to join a game to get experience...Please take this into consideration and lets play a game together.
3. I'm got a little acting experience, and do a fair amount of public speaking.
4. I'm open to playing any class that the party might be lacking. I'd prefer a good alignment. Though, if there's a chance to play a goblin who works as the wizard's valet in hopes of becoming their apprentice, that'd be peachy.
5. I'd like to build my character's personality as we go, by playing my alignment, and by responding to the other players and the npcs. I'd like to bump into a blast from the past, and maybe develop a rivalry with a side-villain.
6. I have limited experience actually playing the game, but I love the idea of roleplaying, I draw monster art (am very familiar with stats), and I really want to play D&D. Haven't lost a character yet, but I love the concept of getting killed off or maimed in interesting ways.
7. The last game I played was very sand-boxy, my DM had set up several places to go adventure. I thought that really gave the players a chance to shape the game.
8. My last DM was really excited and fun, but didn't know the rules very well. So we were wrecking mobs of ghouls that probably should have given us more trouble. Still, we had fun.
9. I've been binge watching videos by Matt Colville, Seth Sorkowky, and this Guy guy from Great GM, I think his channel is called.
10. I kinda accept the rules for whatever they are. I'm probably in a minority for not liking attacks of opportunity, lol. I think traps and the rogues who disarm them are cool in theory, but often tedious in practice. So homebrews that streamline rogue play a bit are welcome.
11. I'll likely use the Cam and Mic for my Tablet, a galaxy Tab S6. It looks and sounds good. But I do have a better mic I can use on my pc as well.
Anyway, looks like I might be a little late to respond here, but I figured I'd give it a shot anyway. Thanks for taking the time to set all this up, and hopefully I've managed to answer the questionnaire correctly, lol.
Hello my name is Baldrumlin rumrager I am in Toronto, Canada EST.
My schedule is wide open Tuesday and Wednesday nights for slaying some beasties.
I am comfortable talking in front of people at work I lead a team of 60 and once upon a time I tried streaming. No theater experience but I like to think I am the funniest person I know, certainly entertaining.
I typically enjoy playing that team oriented character, grew up playing team sports and it continues now. Whether it is helping the team navigate a puzzle or in combat I really enjoy being able to contribute and help get the party clear of the objective. I think any character in DnD can be cool as long as you have the right imagination and backstory. My preference for this campaign would be a Dwarf Bard. I feel like a bard can help the group throughout the whole journey and that’s what I am looking forward to the most. I do not enjoy the barbarian of eat sleep smash things and repeat. I like versatility a bard provides and I think I am creative enough to really add to my party that way. And in combat I appreciate the utility of how I can support while also mixing in some damage or cover just providing that x factor that I think bards specialize in. I feel like I could go on and on but I am really excited to hopefully do my next campaign as a bard.
I would like to see that full character growth, I am over the “long lost hero” character trope and much more interested in just developing a character with an interesting story that is more practical. Having a character go out and adventure is what I am looking for.
I have experienced a perma death before. We waited until an opportune time and let them reroll with a slight xp decrease from the rest. It was sad losing them but it was great way to keep playing with our friend.
The best part was just hanging out with the gang the whole time, cheesy I know. but the coolest in my mind was taking out a clan of giants. That whole thing was awesome. Tribe? Clan.
I would like my next DM to be slightly more adaptable or quick on their feet. I know a lot of work goes into planning and I appreciate all the work but sometimes when the party would try and do something that wasn’t expecting or not exactly prepared for it would mess everything up for a bit.
I am a big Critical role fan, other than that not a ton. I occasionally spend a weekend or afternoon at the Warhammer 40k shop around the corner from work but its easiest for me to listen to podcast during my commute. I am a big Tim The Tat man twitch fan.
My favourite homebrew is the triple crit. It hardly ever happens but its an instant kill or whatever instant in an awesome way for 3 crits in a row. My least favorite would have to be the long rest takes a week. I really am not a fan just let me wake up rested damnit!
Once upon a time I tried streaming regularily on twitch so I have a good webcam and a streaming mic, and my headset mic so for quality control I am good to go but can always upgrade if necessary.
Hello! My name is Elaine I am a college student in Texas, United States CST. I like creating, mandarin oranges, and D&D.
For the time slots, I would prefer Wednesday but can commit to both days
I love talking to people and have no problems talking in front of them. I also have six years of theatre experience and used to compete in public speaking
I love playing characters with rich untold backstories I can draw from and or slowly reveal. When creating a character I love to make strong female icons. Generally, I find it interesting to play characters ✨looking for their place in the world✨ and falling into the familial ties of the party. Either from a cold attitude that transforms into a warm demeanor or starting off very charismatic and jumping right into being friends with everyone. As far as classes go I love to main a cleric. I have one baking that is a partially blind tempest cleric and worships the moon goddess, based on a Filipino story. A bald tortured soul, life domain cleric. And my last beloved cleric is a tabaxi politician peace cleric. Despite gushing about clerics I do enjoy playing other classes. For casters Sorcerers (I would love to try wild magic) and for Melee fighters or monks.
My favorite part of DnD is the role-play interaction with the other characters and watching how the creativity of the other players mesh together to help mold the characters.
I don’t have much experience with permanent death. The only time was when my character died. The party got itself into a terrible situation where someone had to sacrifice themselves. I had to leave the campaign all together soon due to moving so I chose to sacrifice myself. It was an interesting role-play moment.
In my last campaign, it was mystery-based and ability check heavy (just a DM preference). I enjoyed roleplaying trying and failing on bad rolls as well as getting to do incredible things on good rolls.
I have had TERRIFIC dm’s. The only thing I can think of is when there is a lack of communication outside of game times. I enjoy working with the DM to ensure my character can fit into the world they build.
I love Dimension 20 on DropoutTV (They are also on Youtube), NADDPOD, The Adventure Zone, Dungeons and Daddies, and Critical Miss.
I have yet to encounter a rule that I extremely disliked. However, a Homebrew Rule I liked was instead of rolling HP for a short rest It was maxed to make a pool that you could pull from until a long rest.
I stream through a mirrorless 4K camera that can also shoot 1080p for a smoother stream and have a studio condenser microphone for ✨crisp✨ audio. I am a Digital Media major so excellent video and audio quality is important to me.
What is your location? State/Country and Time Zone. USA (Oregon), Pacific Time
Can you commit to a time slot of Tuesday or Wednesday from 6:30pm-1030pm PST? Yes
Are you comfortable talking in front of people? For example: do you have any theater experience? I have a BA in Theatre Performance, 30 years as a HS teacher, part of 75 live theater productions as actor, director, or designer. I'm on a streamed game atm, Sundays, Noon Eastern.
What kind of characters do you like/want to play? Why? Provide as many details as you can. I have played every class in 5e except Warlock and Sorcerer. I tend to prefer characters who have a strong martial aspect and have never played a pure spell-caster. I have a couple of ideas kicking around, all of which are toe to toe combatants (though very different styles) with some small magic or magic-adjacent stuff in their pocket. I like to find a decent depth of backstory and fit the world rather than shoehorn my cool self into whatever.
What are you looking to get out of a campaign with your character? Goals, etc..To have fun, tell interesting stories, and maybe get a cool item and some coin.
Have you experienced the permanent death of a character or of a long-term party member? What happened, and what was the outcome? Yeah. Had a fall from height as part of what was a near TPK. Stone Giants and cliffside roads are a bad mix. You get to tell epic "no shit, there I was" stories afterward.
What was the best part of your last campaign? That the DM was entertaining the idea that I could use a displacer beast hide and dragon scales to craft some amazing armor... but we never had the downtime before the campaign went on hiatus and we rolled new folks for Icewind Dale. And I am still not sure exactly how it would work :)
What is one thing you would change about your last DM? My current three are all very different. I have no real issues with any of them. Two are older men with a ton of D&D background spanning several editions. One is still in high school and doesn't flavor settings as richly as he will as he gets older and more seasoned. Because these are DMs I don't actually 'know' (Thanks COVID) the between session contact isn't always great.
What streams, YouTube campaigns, or D&D-related podcasts do you enjoy? The first streamed game I watched was Relics & Rarities. I loved that table, particularly Tommy and Jasmine's rapport. I didn't really warm to Critical Role when I started at Kraghammer. But on second try, I started with Trostenwald and then went BACK to Whitestone and made it through 1st campaign. I can't say enough about Undeadwood. Holy Khary Payton, Batman! I watch a lot of scenery build stuff on channels like BlackMagicCraft.
What are some of your favorite and least favorite homebrew rules? Our DM in college believed ANY blow had the possibility to be fatal, so he devised a stacking crit that had he possibility to deal huge amounts of damage, as long as you could make several roles in series... My current DM has defenseless surprise rules that are similar, both for knocking out and for assassinating. I like (but am terrified that they work both ways). I don't think I've encountered HB rules I don't like, but I have come across to HB items that are ... not what I expect. And it's not they aren't 'good', they just are world-inappropriate for where I've come across them.
What webcam and mic do you use/can you acquire in time for the stream? The cam on my Macbook Pro is what I use now. It's been up to the task, but I also have a 4k digital camera that I /think/ I can wire in for live sourcing., but I'm not certain... I have a fduce USB mic that provides decent sound and has a good pickup shape. I am not running any EQ, though in theory, I can. I stream with a BT JBL earbud in to prevent sound bleed into my mic. Fully charged, I have about 9 hours of usage, swapping back and forth, one ear at a time. I have a decent real objects shelf and wall behind me, but can green screen if need be. I have a ring for front light, a dimmable overhead, and a color-changing overhead, so can be pretty decently lit. I have slightly less control during daytime hours, as I am under a skylight. At the time of day lineup for this, there should be minimal disruption from external noise (though I do have a dog and when the fire trucks roll (we don't really hear the sirens here, but she does and she howls... yay, mute button).
D&D player from B2 (Keep on the Borderlands) thru AD&D2e, then on hiatus until 5e in 2019 Hero System playtester from mid 80s. Also play Shadowrun, Traveller, MERP, FASA Star Trek
Twiitter @JDSoOR Discord JDSoOR#5431 LFG: A Wildemount setting campaign? I already have characters in Greyhawk and Faerun :) But really, I'm not going to say no to anything fun...
What is your location? State/Country and Time Zone. (International Players are welcome to apply)
I'm in Louisiana, so Central Standard.
2. Can you commit to a time slot of Tuesday or Wednesday from 6:30pm-1030pm PST? (15 min tech rehearsal before live, four hour block for play with a 15-minute break during the session.)
Yeah, times work for me. I'm a college student, and with everything online, my schedule stays very open.
Are you comfortable talking in front of people? For example: do you have any theater experience?
I can be very chatty, and I consider myself easy to get along with. Theater was never offered at my school, but I did always enjoy it.
What kind of characters do you like/want to play? Why? Provide as many details as you can. (Please keep in mind that you may not be playing this exact character in this campaign.)
I like to play any type of healer or support player. I just like to keep my party alive and help where I can. In every game I play with a healer as a class, I always pick it. It's hard to explain, but I just like helping people, and that one hundred percent carries over into DnD.
What are you looking to get out of a campaign with your character? Goals, etc..
I'm looking to just have fun and experience a story. That and make new friends.
Have you experienced the permanent death of a character or of a long-term party member? What happened, and what was the outcome?
No, not yet. I'm fairly unexperienced in actually playing DnD, and so far in my other 2 campaigns no one has died.
What was the best part of your last campaign?
Technically my last campaign ended after session one, because no one else bothered to show up for session 2. But the most memorable part, was when we burnt down a tavern and inn by accident after running an extermination gig for the owner. My other group that I run with on Mondays joke all the time about it.
What is one thing you would change about your last DM?
Hmm, going off of my previous answer, the DM was fine. He was a young kid, so he was unexperienced, which couldn't be helped. He tried his best to explain everything, but something just wasn't quite there. I found myself a bit bored, but that may have been as due to the lack of input from my other party members. It's hard to explain fully, but he did his best.
What streams, YouTube campaigns, or D&D-related podcasts do you enjoy?
I do enjoy Critical role, XP to Level 3, Dimension 20, Ginny D. There are more, but those are my favorites.
What are some of your favorite and least favorite homebrew rules?
I'm not sure. Since I haven't played much I haven't really come across many rules that I myself had to play with. It's much different hearing in in a stream as opposed to playing it. But in my Monday campaigns, my DM has a few interesting rules. For example, Short rests are a full 8 hours, and long rests are 48 hours of just relaxing in a camp or town. He did this so it's more realistic, which I find fine. It makes the players conserve spells slots and really have to think about their actions. So far it's been a lot of fun, and no issues have come up over it or any of his other rules.
What webcam and mic do you use/can you acquire in time for the stream?
I use my laptop camera and just a mic that's in my earbuds. They have decent quality for what they are and no one has ever had any problems understanding what I say, and my camera has a clear image, so I should be all set if you allow me into your campaign.
What is your location? State/Country and Time Zone. (International Players are welcome to apply)
I am located in Houston, Texas (CST)
Can you commit to a time slot of Tuesday or Wednesday from 6:30pm-1030pm PST? (15 min tech rehearsal before live, four hour block for play with a 15-minute break during the session.)
No issues committing to either time slot. I occasionally have some family commitments on weekdays but they complete by 8PM CST (6PM PST)
Are you comfortable talking in front of people? For example: do you have any theater experience?
I have no formal training in the theatre, did plays and performances growing up. Very comfortable talking with people I have work in sales for the past few years as a salmon and a sales managers. So I have no issues chatting, improving, and just being silly most importantly I am keenly aware of when and when not to talk.
What kind of characters do you like/want to play? Why? Provide as many details as you can. (Please keep in mind that you may not be playing this exact character in this campaign.)
I mostly DM, so like most DM's I have a multitude of character in my backlog. I like Gish characters and interesting multi-classes, I like my characters build to speak as much to who my character is as his back story this can lead to some interesting combinations. They aren't always optimized but they fit a skill set and they are good at it.
It is rare that I create a character without magic, althoughI've been recently toying with the new barbarians. I do have a couple fun homebrews I'm always tinkering with and I do love the thematic magic assassin.
What are you looking to get out of a campaign with your character? Goals, etc..
I'm a looking at building online content for 5e, revolving around character development and builds. '
I want to get involved with a group of players who want to build an epic story and have fun exploring new and challenging ideas.
I want to meet other people in the community that want to get more involved and make DND more than just a game.
Have you experienced the permanent death of a character or of a long-term party member? What happened, and what was the outcome?
"Echo if only we knew him better". My first Echo knight, made it to level 7, our party nearly cleared a dungeon half the party was satisfied and ready to move on, the other half wanted to continue treasure hunting. We decided to stay and took a rest, interrupted we were attacked. Monsters split and overwhelmed the party. We agreed to flee but two part members were blocked. Echo distracted the enemy giving his party member a change to escape but was devoured. It stung but it was cool to have a semi-epic death. Even at the end the other players were cheering as the Dm described my gruesome death. I couldn't help but laugh, I hung out for the rest of the night encouraging some mornful lamentations from other players. After the game I discussed with the DM how he wanted to handle the death, he offered a cool dark resurrection but we aggreed to let the hero have his moment and rerolled a character the next game.
What was the best part of your last campaign?
My last campaign I DM'd for family, Strahd, to introduce my brother family to DND and help my nephew who's been struggling social since Covid. Getting to see the family talk through the stage situations, make blinsky jokes, and see my nephew come out of his shell has been extremely rewarding.
What is one thing you would change about your last DM?
My last DM loved, making things his own. All magic items had a twist to them, it was cool at first but it became very difficult to track all the customizations and often made things clunky as players had to review items as written and they review adjustments.
What streams, YouTube campaigns, or D&D-related podcasts do you enjoy?
Huge Critter, I also love the adventure Zone, and Dungeon dudes. I recently started black dice society and enjoy checking out content from Nerdarchy, Nerd immersion, Ginny Di, Todd Kendrick and DND Beyond... Yup, super nerd.
What are some of your favorite and least favorite homebrew rules?
I am not a fan of ill effect of nat one, it's a killer for character that rely on multi-attack
I like the potion as a bonus action for heavy melee or non-healer groups
Generally I prefer limited home-brew, i think it keeps the game streamlined for all players.
What webcam and mic do you use/can you acquire in time for the stream?
I currently have a MacBook air, built in 720p FaceTime HD camera and utilize my apple head phones. I have a Logitech headset on standby that I can use in a pinch. I also do have a mulit-monitor set up so I can transition seamlessly.
I have no issue purchasing other equipment if requested/required.

1. PA. EST time zone
2. Yes
Least fav no rolling for initiative
11. iPhone with OBS, kids gaming headset for mic. But no issue getting proper gear.
I live for that moment you look at your table, and everyone is laughing, smiling, or emotionally invested.

Washington DC (EST)
Yes, that's late night for me which works great! Both days work but prefer Tuesday over Wednesday.
I'm extremely comfortable in front of people. I worked for several years as an emcee at music festivals and sporting events. I also worked as a radio DJ for a few years. So I have 0 problem talking in front of a large group of people.
I like my characters to have a connection to the world.
Number one goal is always to have fun. I'd love to see my character grow, resolve a personal story arch while working with the party to resolve their arcs, while obviously in the middle of the overall campaign story arc. Not asking too much of the DM there am I? :)
I think you have to always going in to a campaign prepared for your character to die. In a recent campaign I personally had my character die and the DM ended up bringing him back as part of the final encounter so that we ended up fighting a mutated pit fiend version of my character from earlier in the campaign. It was awesome!
The bond formed with the group. We just finished a two year campaign and finding a group of people willing and ready to show up every week to play is hard but this group really connected and formed a great bond and told an awesome story. We took a few weeks off and then jumped right back in for a new campaign.
He struggled a bit with properly handling magic items in a balanced way. It can be hard so I understand. He gave some items that were pretty much forgotten about and not used by some players but then one got an amazing item that was used a ton and made him stand out a little too much in a more combat heavy campaign.
Critical Role is probably the given. I also really like the Dungeon Dudes and the DND Beyond and official D&D channels put on some great one shots and campaigns.
Drinking a potion as a bonus action instead of an action. Anything that improves upon the grappling mechanic. And a fun one I've played with but it might be a little too much was if you cast a spell as a bonus action you could still cast a spell with your action.
Camera: C920
Mic: Blue Yeti
Hi There!
I am definitely interested...even though I'm a bit late to the party, here. Hoping there will still be room for me for an interview/audition!
I'm really looking forward to the opportunity to speak with you more about the possibility of being part of this endeavour!
I'm auditioning for a part, too, but I enjoyed reading about what your viewpoint is on post battle trauma. I wish you luck and maybe we'll meet at the virtual table.
I totally hear you about working out a background with the DM. It really draws one into the illusion of this great game. Best of luck to you!
I've played a character like what your envisioning. Very fun!
Hello I am new to DnD...I have just created an account and a character and i am looking to join a game to get experience...Please take this into consideration and lets play a game together.
1. California, United States, PST
2. I'm free Tuesdays and Wednesdays
D&D player from B2 (Keep on the Borderlands) thru AD&D2e, then on hiatus until 5e in 2019
Hero System playtester from mid 80s. Also play Shadowrun, Traveller, MERP, FASA Star Trek

I can be very chatty, and I consider myself easy to get along with. Theater was never offered at my school, but I did always enjoy it.
I like to play any type of healer or support player. I just like to keep my party alive and help where I can. In every game I play with a healer as a class, I always pick it. It's hard to explain, but I just like helping people, and that one hundred percent carries over into DnD.
I'm looking to just have fun and experience a story. That and make new friends.
No, not yet. I'm fairly unexperienced in actually playing DnD, and so far in my other 2 campaigns no one has died.
Technically my last campaign ended after session one, because no one else bothered to show up for session 2. But the most memorable part, was when we burnt down a tavern and inn by accident after running an extermination gig for the owner. My other group that I run with on Mondays joke all the time about it.
I do enjoy Critical role, XP to Level 3, Dimension 20, Ginny D. There are more, but those are my favorites.
I use my laptop camera and just a mic that's in my earbuds. They have decent quality for what they are and no one has ever had any problems understanding what I say, and my camera has a clear image, so I should be all set if you allow me into your campaign.
